Even the 5700XT is beaten in most games by a $400 nVidia card

Dude, you just made me check this, what were you smoking?

5700XT beats 2080 TI, benchamrks from guru3d

A ps5 will have beefed up 5700, so it will have a card more powerfull than a 1080 TI, closing in on 2080 TI.

For the price of 500$ of full package, a 2080 TI is alone 800$.

These are FACTS

Are you actually this silly or are you fucking around? Battlefield loves AMD hardware, no other game will show benchmarks like that. Also that's with ray tracing off, since AMD hasn't released hardware ray tracing yet. And there's no way in hell the PS5 will have a "beefed up 5700" as its GPU, not at anywhere near normal console prices anyway. You're crazy.

These are our current spec predictions based on rumors and what was revealed by Mark Cerny:
CPU: 8 core/16 threads at 3.2Ghz with a Zen2 architecture
GPU: Navi-based with AMD next-gen features at 12.6 to 14.2 teraflops
Memory: 24GB total with 20GB GDDR6 at 880GB/S and 4GB DDR4 for the operating system
2 TB SSD

Moar TFLOPS than ever, more boredom than ever!

You got to have moar teraflops for open-world immersions.

Dude, it's common logic, it's like this everytime with a new generation of consoles, look at specs of ps2 and how final fantasy X looked in 2000 compared to pc games of year 2000, the same was with release of ps3 in 2005.

During console release, console is always more powerfull than available pcs due to optimizations, and this time the gap will be even bigger because of moores law.

When the first native PS5 games drop, your PC will be running PS5 ported games at 1080p on low settings at 30fps. PC master race indeed !

I was playing Call of Duty 2 at way higher resolution and framerate on day one than the Xbox 360 was, and that was a launch title. Same with Oblivion. Sometimes consoles can do particular things better for a little while, and if the SSD and RAM setup of this is anything like they're teasing then that might be an area where they excel for a while, but it's nowhere near as simple as "lol conselz better." I know you're a troll, but you're on a PC forum with people who are (mostly) not idiots. That shit ain't gonna fly.

lol resolution and framerate, higher polygon count is what makes games look more realistic not resolution or fps

8-9 TFLOPS tops. There's no other way they can manage heat dissipation in such a tiny plastic box with the "super efficient lol" Navi µarch. The RX 5700 XT barely scratches 10 TFLOPS @225W. And that chip lacks even dedicated RTRT hardware.

A bit faster than a GTX 1660 Ti, certainly not worthy of an upgrade. Battlefield V and Prey are the standouts.

I've read/watched a lot more since and the 5700XT does beat the GTX2060S in most games, but it's not by a lot and the 2060 has ray tracing, so since they're the same price it comes down to whether you prefer slightly more performance or ray tracing support (that probably isn't that great on a 2060 anyway). Kind of a wash really. The 2070S beats them both pretty handily though, but it's $100 more so it should. It's a nice deal though I think compared to the stupid expensive $800 range, if you have the extra $100. I think overall updating this year is stupid though, I'm only considering it because I got a 1440p monitor and it killed my 1060.

If you go AMD for example, isn't it the same tech as in consoles but considerably more powerful? You should be more than fine for next gen release.

But, new AMD cards still don't support all features next-gen will throw at you. I would say wait just to be sure.

Additionally, new Intel GPUs are coming and it will be interesting to see how they fit into competition.

I doubt the GPUs in either new console match the 5700xt or 2070S in raw power, you're right, but they might excel in certain areas. It's really hard to say with these insane rumors floating around (as they usually do) promising more than $400-500 machines can deliver. I'm just saying it would be smarter to wait and see unless you absolutely have to upgrade now.

The consoles are a year away from release, they will match or outperform todays cards.

As a totally not graphic whore, typically, I upgrade when shit becomes unplayable. I bought a I7-4790k and a 980GTX desktop a while ago. It still runs everything at 60 FPS in 1080P. It's absolutely fucking ridiculous.

Here's what I'm betting : I will not have to upgrade this machine during the PS5 lifecycle. I will definitely have to put a few sliders to the middle or to low, but an upgrade will not be mandatory even for AAA titles.

You'll see.

980 GTX wont need to be upgraded for many years, especially if you stay at 1080p. I have the same card, with an OC. My CPU's days are numbered though, but after 10 years it doesn't owe me anything. And even that... I bet I will be able to play all the new PS5 shit without even having to lower many settings, if anything at all.
