There's already a First Person Mod and a VR Mod, and you can use the two together:

and just think, Bethesda progressively eliminated flying and climbing and other mobility skills off elder scrolls games because it made their heads hurt to think about having to actually work hard, meanwhile Nintendo implements it in style.

Switch emu is progressing really really well. They just got vulcan update that completely fixed AMD issues and generally improved performance.

You still have to have minimum 8700k to play most demanding games but that line should come down in future is they will get more performance out of game.

CemU Zelda BOTW Megathread.

Use this thread as your guide. It seriously useful.

Now I'll make a quick guide on how get this shit up and running:

  1. Get Zelda BOTW
  2. Update it to version 1.1.1
  3. Download 19k shader cache, put it in the shaderCache folder (skip this step if you don't have an AMD GPU) » For Nvidea GPU's use your own fresh Shader Caches, something in the house of 4k/5 (because there is a bug in current Nvidea drivers which causes the game to use absurd amounts of ram), the shaders are automatically made when you open the game for the first time
  4. Download CemUHook version 4.0.0 or higher, put it in CemU main folder (if CemU doesn't open do this)
  5. Then go to gameProfiles folder and edit the c9500 .ini file, if you have the EUR version of the game (for the US version edit the c9400 file, and JPN is the c9300), and under [Graphics] you add this line: disableGPUFence = true
  6. If you have a Nvidea GPU tweak it to look like this, if it is a AMD GPU disable Shader Chache
  7. In Cemu set GPU Buffer Cache to low and CPU Mode to Single Core Recompiler
  8. Then go to the options tab > input settings, and set controller to Wii U Game Pad or Pro Controller and configure the keys to your liking
  9. Then you have to load the .rpx file located in the code folder of the game, so can run it (Zelda BOTW is usally called U-King.rpx)
  10. Finally, when you've loaded all shader chaches and the game has opened, use either this method or enable the "GX2SetGPUFence skip (HACK)" in the CemU options tab (you have to do one of this methods every time you play to have a good perfromance, I recomend using the 2nd method)
Now you can enjoy the game!
Additionaly I would recomend some graphic packs.

Follow optimized video instructions

Get shaders for the game.

Follow guide for enabling Gyro for whatever controller you're using. There's a decent amount of shrines you'll need this for.

All things considered, it works great on AMD now.

Started it on Cemu. Game does 40-60fps on my i5-3760k@4,5ghz with all hacks etc @1080p. Decided to lock it to 30fps for smooth frametime and it works well. Thanks to shaders pack also no stutters. Decided to run it on Master Mode because from what i hear game is easy as hell and MM adds just harder enemies.

Wrong move. Master Mode is Bethesda style (bullet sponge enemies) rather than interesting challenge, and guess what, bullet sponge enemies REALLY don't work with highly degradable equipment in BotW. You will have to sneak most of the time. Better restart on normal.

If you want to play with challenge, try to master the parry system. It's reminiscent of Dark Souls, you have to learn each enemy's attack patterns exactly, and when it works, it's a blast, and can be used against anything, even ranged weapons and spells.

The game was hard enough at the start while getting used to the controls and with only 3 hearts which I kept for a good while choosing instead to increase stamina, I think that's the best way to artificially increase difficulty.

?? From what i have been playing on normal everything dies on 2-3 hits. Also enemies drop left and right their weapons. Bullet sponge comes later or it is from the start ?

Well the first few bokoblins are tutorial level enemies. Once you start running into tougher stuff, fights get more interesting.

In master mode enemies are not just health sponges (They kinda are, mainly because their health regeneration that's not present in the base game). There's always 1 level above than in the normal game (Enemy color), that means they have some new moves (An extension of their "combo attack") and properties (Like being harder to stun). It's a decent challenge, you are forced to exploit the game system to play in the most optimal way, like for example making food to improve your attack stats. Though I do not recommend it on a first playthrough, it can be a bit frustating if you don't know how the game works.

How bad are the motion controls if your only option is to play on a keyboard and mouse?

There is a way to emulate motion controls with mouse and keyboard but like you think it is not optimal thing.
I am using PS4 pad and Cemu had integration with DS4Windows, motion controls work great with DS4.

Whoa, you guys are weird. Use the youtube guide to set up mouse+kb controls with vjoy. As RPG Codexers, you should know that one of the reasons for PC MAster Race are the superior controls offered by the ol' mouse.

That's was kinda my point. While their move sets might improve a little bit, their health will massively improve. For example, high level silver bokoblins late into the normal game will literally drain most of your master sword or you will have to spend a high level sword on them. Do you want to deal with them earlier in the game, when you are armed with branches and rusty swords? Most people who played on that mode described sneaking around most of the time.

Ok tried master mode....

This is fucking retarded. I had 4 sticks, woodcuter axe, broken sword and i broken all of them on first goblin and still didn't kill that goblin.
I like the improved damage they do but this is just plain retarded.
I thought that hp bloat was hyperbole but no, it is completely true.

I wish there was an option to play with the other changes in Master Mode (the floating platforms) without the inflated enemy health. That said, it's not too bad once you learn ways to deal with groups of enemies, you just can't run in and tank everything like in the base game. Use stealth to get sneak kills, use the environment, use shock weapons to disarm enemies and grab their weapons, etc.
