Norn and human storylines were as bland as their respective starter areas, didn't play past lvl 5. Charr are cliche but at least somewhat interesting and with decent VA. Black Citadel looks amazing.
Which origin did you play? I heard that Commoner starts out pretty bland, or was it Raised on the Streets. Noble was fun though, I mean, how is it not fun when your best friend is a flamboyant, extreme womanizer that also sends strong gay vibes if you play a male
and uses words like
panache and
aplomb among others; a non-combat mission of talking to a ton of NPCs that all have things to say depending on the stage of the quest you're on; [circus background] saving the city from Ringleader's Grizzwhirls that he talks about with awesome degrees of innuendo (awesome enough that I might some time use it. I mean, "Look at my giant grizzwhirl, allow it to mesmerise you", how awesome a line is that? Your lady will approve). Oh yeah, and a quest where you get to make a joke out of set lines, most of them being my specialty - bad puns. "There's funny, and there's clown funny, you pass the test."
And yeah, agreed, Black Citadel looks awesome. Didn't explore it much yet, since I want to save something for next BWE/release, but it looks wicked, and they seem to have fixed the lag issues in it, too, so, yay.
Also liked the Loin Arches, though I admit from artwork I expected MOAR SAILS and maybe also MOAR BOATS cause that'd be totally cool. Figured out how to work the Mystic Forge a bit, too, or so I thought, until I suddenly had a L50 staff on my hands as a result of combinations.
ALSO ALSO enjoyed the remade AH/Gem store interface. Addition of fluctuating gem values adds more to the metagame for people that like to play on game economy, which is AWESOME. And the way that the AH permits players to set ORDERS for items they want to buy but aren't currently available AND set the price they wish to pay for it is simply brilliant.
