Trying to get some people to run with me through either the Prophecies or the Nightfall campaign from level 1.

Meh. Just seems like another nuker to me. The swords are just for the looks, or as "foci", doesnt appear to be using them at all.

Official site has revealed it too btw. Apperently mesmers are great musicians aswell.

We'll see when the actual skills get leaked out. It does have a sub-focus on condition-spreading using the clones so who knows.

Time to sift for highlights.

Dark age of Camelot did and had fights that could go up to 1000+ people.

And it is not a coincidence that DaoC is one of our favorite games of all time.
and I am hoping that we can live up to it and MORE! I played DaoC from release and had a level 50 Eldritch roaming the frontiers very early on. I remember the first time I ran into the Midgard giant, and proptly turned and ran as quickly as a could.

We will officially enter Closed Beta Testing this Friday. It will be marked with an increase in our pool of testers. To clarify, this phase of testing is still under NDA and is not open to the public.

Based on the feedback we get from our current Closed Beta Testing, we will determine the next phases of our beta program in which we will open beta access to more people.

You can have 6 major slots for armor, as well as slots for amulets, rings, trinkets, etc.

Influence me the most?

X-Com. When I played that game, that was the moment that I decided to get into making games because I wanted to pass on that quality level of experience to future gamers.

Right now I am playing Battleheart on the ipad.

Influence GW2?

:?

Clones are really just deception. They are there to utilize the shatters and create temporary dps and distraction. Phantasms are more like "in world" hexes. There is a Phantasm called Backfire that does a powerful attack to foes casting skills.

That loot chest was the first ugly art asset I've seen so far. I mean how hard is it to make a nice-looking chest. Ragnaros' loot chest in WoW, or Deathwings' loot chest. Those were some damn nice chests. Chest chestsches chs-

I would like to see some endgame PvE.

Hrm. It might be the incomprehensible korean about, but I got little more than a clusterfuck vibe. That, and no teamwork on this boss battle whatsoever.

I did fastforward through like 5 minutes of it, though.

Well, it looks like it could be one of those outdoor event bosses. Those pretty much always look like clusterfucks with all the randoms joining in.

That's how endgame PvE will look afaik, just bigger/more complex maybe. They had this video of a hueg dragon encounter that was pretty high if not max lvl a while back.

Their idea is to have end-game-ish concepts all trough the levelling so it doesn't take you a month to get main features of the game.

They haven't showed max level content afaik, that was lvl 35 or something content (max is 80). My guess would also be that end-game pve will have more complex encounters that a random group without prior preparation won't be able to do. Then there's server wars but they still have to release more info about that.

'scuse me Hoax, but I don't really see how that was a response to my statement. I observed a giant, confusing mass of people working by themselves to kill this thing. Whether they're level 10 or 50 would make no difference whatsoever.

Oh man, a bunch of convention-goers playing level 15 toons against a dynamic event that you have (and they have) no idea the mechanics of, in another language. Looks like a clusterfuck - Oh man I just made an insightful observation!

Even if it is a clusterfuck, so what? Dynamic events are meant to replace the basic questing for leveling mechanic, not actual difficult dungeons or endgame. As long as the latter two still exist, then I'd much rather run around participating in clusterfucks than grind through easy quest after easy quest.

Shit, maybe I should praise the lack of meaningful content on the video, then? I enjoyed it for what it was? Whew, I sure -feel- better!

So if you take your head out of your ass and try to read in to what I'm saying, you'll see I'm just remarking on the fact that the lack of a party and teamwork made me frown. Sure, you can have Guild Wars without the party aspect - I'm pretty sure I solo'd pre-searing pretty easily. Nothing to worry about there.

Fucking fanboyism.

Excuse me, I must have approached your comments about the video from the context that this is a thread about the game and its mechanics, not a thread about how players behave regardless of mechanics.

How is the lack of cooperative gameplay not part of the game mechanics? Unless you're saying that the lack of a party stems from the fact that the players didn't actually form them, as opposed to them not being a part / impotant to gameplay from design.

If it isn't clear, my concern is with the latter . Going back to the "no healers" approach discussed earlier I would think it's a valid one.

This is why we can't have nice things.

That is called selective quoting.

Because all the basic quests in Guild Wars were oh so hard and required parties, huh?
