The problem is that if your character, at ground zero, can rape three other NPCs simultaneously, then you have a problem.

What problem? People will feel awesome from the get go and Bethesda will get more sales. What's the problem exactly?

:smug:
That it's not an RPG and has shit AI.

If the mass media thinks it's an RPG, isn't that really what matters? Retards call it an RPG (and not a action-rpg hiking simulator) and buy it in droves and think the AI is amazing because they can "talk" to each other and do other stupid shit. But Bethesda makes monies, so there is no problem for them.

so, why are we discussing this?

no, seriously, is it because this is a RPG game site and we are supposed to cover every little shit that has rpg in its name, or are we really hoping that this one could be good, or what?

Well, people slobbed all over the Witcher and there are plenty of reasons why it could barely be considered an 'RPG' from Codexian standards. I think most people here realize TES games have always had sub par gameplay mechanics but they're hoping for a return to good/decent exploration that was last present in Morrowind. I'll be honest, though; recently tried to replay Morrowind and just couldn't get into it.

I got about 15mins of playtime on Skyrim at PAX. (360 version)

Obviously that is too little time to have an impression of anything more than controls, UI and gfx.

But my thoughts... It plays like Oblivion. From the fact that the first elk I shot in the game did a 360 degree spin without animating, to the wolf corpse sliding 50m down a slope after I killed it. Shooting was identical, swinging was identical. Magic had the whole double trigger thing going on, but it still felt the same.

Graphically I would say that the textures were slightly better, but in general it feels like the biggest difference was art direction for the new location.

UI = made for consoles, though of course I was on the console version.

*shrugs* If you like Oblivion, this is pretty much more of the exact same. Didn't get to test the improved dialogue system, or char advancement.

-No one should be surprised by this. It sounds like the Gamebyro engine with minor updates so expect the game to be glitchy as well.

of course the completely new engine plays like oblivion if they changed it too much they would alienate the old players this is how much bethesda cares about their fanbase
