Well, that's great, i got invaded by a red phantom in Things Betwixt, he fell when fighting him and now i lost his drop. Thanks, game.

Also, am i going to fight the Pursuer over and over? It's already starting to get old.

Also, lmao at the tranny maker coffin.

Holy shit this is crazy but I've only now found out that Looking Glass Knight can summon actual players to the fight. Every single time I've fought him before he just summoned NPC phantoms, just had a fight with him where he summoned an actual player for first time ever. Not that it helped him much. :smug: What a nice surprise though, makes me wonder what else I don't know about this game.

This might be of interest, popped out of my youtube feed:

Not watching it myself as he seems to be spoiling everything.

Watched only the beginning : the guy seems to build his whole argument from very flimsy and interpretative premises. Grasping at straws basically.

Mathew is generally a pretty good reviewer but he really missed the mark on that one.
His main criticism for the game is that since Miyazaki didn't direct 2, it could've never been better or even as good as the 1st or DeS.
And unfortonately that video did popularize the opinion that 2 is the weakest of all Soulsborne titles.

Holy shit this is crazy but I've only now found out that Looking Glass Knight can someone actual players to the fight.

That was even one of the marketing points in the reveal footage of the gameplay.

it's a good video and Matthew is right for the most part (though he says that certain parts of the game aren't good because devs failed to understand what was good about DeS and DaS1, except that those parts weren't good because of troubled development). Ultimately his video doesn't matter, because the game is actually better than other Fromsoft souls games in aspects he deemed not important enough to mention.

His other video (spoilers obviously) does say that DaS2 brought some welcome mechanical changes that for some reason were ditched by subsequent sequels.

Ok, how many times is the Pursuer gonna spawn? I fought four times in the Bastille. He is not even hard anymore i got his move set pat what the shit enough of this guy lmao.

Got invaded by some Forlorn figgit that was actually harder. Now he is not invading anymore after he beat my ass and made me lose 5000 souls. Now i'm up to 15000 lost forever, added to my SM count for the rest of eternity. Fuuuuuuuu

Why exactly are you worried about SM? Are you planning on doing a lot of PVP? I'm at something like 3 million SM and I can still find people to invade and duel.

He's gonna be a PvP god with his first character. Except for dying to Forlorn.

You joined the Bell Keepers yet LS? That's where PvP fun starts.

If you are tired of the Pursuer, I have VERY bad news about the forlorn guy. He invades randomly and he can spawn in almost every area in the game but, hey, at least he offers a good challenge. I have a lot of good memories tied to that guy, mainly because he doesn't give a fuck about the situation you are in and can invade even if you are surrounded by enemies or if you are already dealing with other invaders.

While attempting the DS2 all bosses no hit run, Otzdarva cursed that guy a couple of times:

So, people actually find Forlorn challenging? Interesting, I don't remember dying to him once. Maybe it's that 105 AGL I go for with every character.:smug: I never got unlucky enough to get him while dealing with other invaders though, that might be harder.

If you think Forlorn is bad, wait until you get to Maldron the Assassin in the DLCs...

Disclaimer: I legit gave up on trying to fight the guy, grabbed the stuff I needed past his encounter and never killed him. Frankly, killing him is next to impossible unless you have STR out the wazoo and are using either a weapon that pancakes enemies (greathammers, dragon tooth etc) or are power-stancing two max-upgrade greatswords to hopefully stagger him.

My current build can do neither, so frankly, fuck this! :D

I died to him two times in Huntsman's Corpse: once he invaded while I was surrounded by enemies in the area with poisonous butterflies, another time he ganked me with Merciless Roenna on the small road near the cliff. It was my very first playthrough, so I wasn't exactly good at the game.

Maldron the Assassin is the best thing in the dlcs (and they are the best part of DS2).

I beg to differ. Maldron is a shitty, overtweaked NPC. I always expect invaders that have stats and skills similar to real players. No real player has the health pool and poise of Maldron, so it just comes off as a cheap, overdone artificial challenge.

I love DS2 & disagree with loads he says, but can still see some of his points. However it's clear he had certain expectations which this didn't match up to, and that's really his problem not the game.

Also his criticism that "it has no soul", "the atmosphere isn't there" and the lore "tries to be as ambiguous as possible" is debatable at best. Has no soul? I thought it had plenty, I absolutely loved the atmosphere (albeit a brighter/lighter one than DS1), and the preferred the ambiguity of the lore too.

Sloppy controls, poor level design etc? Fine, but most of his criticism are subjective.

He's not called the pursuer for no reason

Yeah but four times in a level? I mean damn.

Not really, it's just the OCD kicking in.

Haven't found them yet. I got into the blue guys but so far i haven't gotten into a single match. I also only got invaded by players twice. I'm supposed to get 150 victories to get Wrath of the Gods i have a feeling it ain't happening.

Bell Keepers are in Lost Bastille, be sure to have at least one Pharos Lockstone on you until you find them. Invasions by players don't happen very often in DS2 indeed, maybe because there is no infinite use invasion item. I still got way more PvP fights in it than in DS1 via other means.

Found them. Now i see they recycled the Gargoyles, except there's a dozen instead of just two! Amazing.

I'm gonna try to see if i can get the titante slab at least, all though i'm getting weird lag in PvP where i dodge people attacks and then i die.

Yeah. I got 30 attunement and 6 adaptability, that puts me at 92 agility. But it's definitely lag because i see them skip and teleport around too.

I still refuse to raise agility. I want to be a cleric, not a ninja. If the game doesn't support my role playing choices why even bother putting the option there or pretend this is an RPG and not just a glorified DMC.
