A war effort doesn't just function on ships, it needs support. When you start trying to manufacture ships at the expense of the system that supports the manufacturing process, you only have a limited amount of time before it collapses in on itself. We've had a military build up for a long-time since tensions started to rise with the Commonwealth, ease it down now when our enemies are otherwise occupied, and when they've weakened each other sufficiently, they'll be near economic collapse with a battered force, while we'll still have a good sized navy and functioning economy to devastate them all.
No.

Raw materials, manpower and faith are the only things we need. And we have them in abundance.

AB 2 votes (now these people are fucking retarded and should be excised from the voting pool)

Meh, token assistance to their "rebellion" could lead to diplomatic benefits without the need for large ship commitments. Don't go assuming idiocy.

Since we took this exact path before and it ended in complete disaster, it is insanity if not idiocy.

And read the choice text again, there is no talk of a "token assistance to a rebellion" it is carrying war into Hin'in territory. You have to make your decision based on the vaguest safe interpretation of Conan's text. Attempting to read subtleties into it that aren't there and then voting for it leads to at best frustration.

You mean when we tried to help half of their empire fight the other half of their empire? I dunno, it seemed successful enough in the beginning, it's only when we tried to push all the way did we get smacked.

I'll concede that your point about not reading into the subtleties of Conan's descriptions is a good one however. But hey, if my assessment and vote is so far off then I'll just get outvoted. Which I usually am considering so many of the fellow Codexians seem to be avid 40k fans and I usually try to go for least resistance approach.

Are we there yet? I refuse to accept that Australia is an entire two days after the rest of us. But then they have always been weird.
