Adult content games are almost always a gigantic disappointment because the adult content is delivered as a static cutscene. If I wanted to see cutscenes I'd watch a movie. Make it interactive you fucking hacks!

That's why Lilith's Throne is the only good erotic game out there. The erotica is actually interactive.

Try house party. It has story editor too.
X-story also had interaction and physics (most most games have just clothes magically vanish) but was abandoned/lost with useless upgrades about tentacles instead of interesting stuff.

I appreciate that it's a step above (and its not an immediate eyesore) but as a medium it's so visually uninteresting I might as well just pop a video in pornhub. At least in that case I can see fluids and a more dynamic camera.

As for the Akbur games: decent visuals with grindy boring plots. The chars rarely act like what they're parodying, and you usually play as some self-insert. A lot of management sims are an exercise in grind, often requiring you to do the same or similar stuff over and over for one new scene. It's funny to me because most of them include built-in cheats anyway.

Really good game that hasn't been said is Kamidori Alchemy Meister. Now that game, while grindy, solid as fuck gameplay. It's also not a rapefest like most eroge which is fine by me.

I have found Evenicle to be pretty good, made by same devs as Sengoku Rance. You don't need to do any grinding to progress the story, combat isn't very deep but enjoyable for this kind of game, art is very nice and drawn by Senran Kagura artist. Wordbuilding is pretty wack, but the characters are enjoyable and carry the plot well enough. There're a few disturbing scenes like in Sengoku Rance, so don't tell nobody warned you. My only gripes are that you get best girl too soon, and everyone else just can't compare, endgame to get max lvl and all scenes is grindy. The music is nice. Most importantly, the art's not censored. It's one of the few eroge that I've played to the end despite its length, would play again. I can't link it here, but it's available on Steam.

You seem to value gameplay over the erotic content, which is completely fine. AliceSoft games and other similar strategy-heavy visual novels are not really that good in terms of delivering erotic content, since you always have to play multiple hours between erotic scenes. In other words, they score low on the fappability scale. I'd argue Akabur's games and other Western adult games in general do a better job at delivering erotic content.

Enjoy that, because the chances of having a Rance game in Steam are pretty much negative by now. I would bet future titles of Alicesoft will fare as poorly, thanks to overzealous prude "content curators" taking over. Mangagamer is also openly against their customers to boot.

This one is pretty good. It's a VN, the best part about it is the writing, it's fucking hilarious.

I don't really care for most of the character art, most of the girls have 62-FFF tits which seems to be a trend in games like this. I haven't figured out whether it's zoomer preference or an effort to get around Patreon's ban-hammer but I would bet it's one of those two. It was good enough to keep me playing despite not liking the character art.

Fair enough, in fact I had just the same idea when I first stumbled across the game.
But the art style has since grown on me, and it's an immensely fappable game.
The story is essentially what the name of the game already gives away (though there are endings for staying a good girl for the most part).

If you want eye candy, definately the wrong game though, there are no animations and the wikihow artstyle.
Otoh, the game has a no-nonsense adult game plot, which still remains reaonably plausible for the most part. And there's quite a few different branches and endings to explore.
