28 years late. But even I have to admit Starfield's probably just going to be a "See that moon? You can land on it" Fallout 4 clone.

Honestly, if they actually make it a proper, respectful hard Sci-Fi, then even with Beth's jank it's going to be massive .I think I'm actively biased against this game because it means the Todd Howard Broadcasting Company isn't working on another Elder Scrolls or Fallout. Space exploration is probably our most exciting occupation, as a species, but a hard sci-fi take likely won't make for a very compelling "another orbital station needs your help", and soft sci-fi a la Star Trek or Mass Effect never gelled with me. That leaves Star Wars-style space fantasy, which a) this is not gonna be, and b) isn't really about space exploration.
It's been scrubbed from Reddit, by the way. But since I missed it...Some guy posted a compilation of info on their engine update. Doesn't look like he's knowledgeable on the subject matter.
Tech updates and the requisite staff expansion were a given, this is just marketing fluff to appease all of those braindead YouTube-jockeys screeching that Bethesda needs to move to a new engine "right naaooo!"And he's right. They did....alot. Like I said they now have an entire dedicated team to engine related work.
I'm sure it does.bone scaling (which personally has me hyped for modding purposes)
Infinite NPCs!You will be able to see entire cities filled with lots and lots of NPC's on screen.
Good.I do not believe they are going into the direction of Cyberpunk but more like what we are used to from them just with more npc's.
Very good.Voice modulation tech for NPC's. With this you can add lots of variety to npc's voices without needing a bazillion different voice actors.
You don't say. They never really had real 3D-traversal environments in a BGS game
Much like Larian inventing the revolutionary ability to target portraits, it's good to see Bethesda hard at work innovating.Ladders, yes ladders will be in the game

Yes, because the fucktards at Microsoft and Sony sell the hardware at a loss. They're too busy arguing with the other camp of boneheads about which weak hardware platform is "better".
Their platforms are not weak currently. Try buying a gaming computer with 8 zen 2 cores, 16gb of fast ram, 1 terrabyte ssd and 11 terraflops of rdna2 gpu for 400 euros.

In Microsoft's case, in an attempt to literally corner the gaming market.
If Sony goes under, which is looking likely, Microsoft will run amok and literally rape and ruin the games market, fucking the PC platform over pretty much completely for AAA level and as deep as they can go.
And they want all games to be on their shitty subscription model. Easier to control and therefore squeeze games for every cent they can.
Gamepass is only a good value now because they are using it to wreck Sony and get people used to the idea that you will own nothing and be happy.
GOG. Where applicable. For now.We already don't own anything. Physical game media is pretty much dead on PC.

Reminder that we'll likely see the event where Steam shuts down and all our games are lost forever in our lifetimes.
I plan to buy another bajillion terabyte drive this summer to back up all my GOG titles, and my old Windows 7 PC is squirreled away in a box. Short of the anti-fun commissars coming in to confiscate my gear, I'll still be able to play great videogames after the inevitable Cloud Incident. Cleve may have a bunker, but he'll fly to me to trade a copy of Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition for his can of baked beans. And his asshole.Reminder that we'll likely see the event where Steam shuts down and all our games are lost forever in our lifetimes.

They all are. Microsoft's starting off slow with their Gamepass program, Sony rolled out a PS5 version with no disc drive, Google tried going straight for the cloud with Stadia. Abandon ye all hope, for Robin Williams, bless him, called it ages ago:You can sense them salivating in their corporate offices at the thought.
Todd will deliver.
As Todd walks off, he says:
"See that turd? You can eat it!"
(get it? )
If you pirate the game you're basically raping yourself??Remember to be a good consumer and do not lubricate your asshole for the coming ass rape. Don't expect any kind of reach around, either.
Now, repeat after me;
"My Body is Ready!"
"Shut up and take my money!"
That's a good little monkey!
