Misery has caused irreparable damage to the franchise and the modding scene.
I have replayed all the vanilla games recently and it has given me a fresh look and newfound hatred for retard modders who put random anomalies all over every map.
The actual GSC devs realized this was a "feature" that introduced nothing but extra tedium into the gameplay, and it's only really a thing in SoC (most notoriously the Garbage-Rostok transition), and as a result CS has very few of those random anomalies, and CoP has almost none. Of course the "freeplay" mods, that have no actual content in them, love slowing down the player with tedious bullshit as they already do with nearly every other feature they boast, so they embrace this shit. Even better when they make NPCs immune/unaffected by anomalies because they can't make them avoid them. In the immortal words of that fag, Phil Fish: "Suck my dick. Choke on it."
In other news, I am very impressed by the extent the graphical modding of the games has progressed. Only thing left is for someone to make a raytracing GI lighting model to realize that dream.
