There’s no fun in grinding short campaigns of small battles to unlock advantages over what already is a fairly basic AI.
Fingers crossed, the dev sticks with it and develops the game into a gem, but for the moment it’s still quite barebones.
Lets be real, its tabletop Warhammer Fantasy Battles on the PC. Its a very basic game at its roots to begin with…. Its a nice casual game, not overly complicated, without the need to spend 50 hrs painting to play. I play it out of nostalgia from a few decades ago. I didn’t have ‘complexity’ as an expectation going in…. But its good enough to scratch the itch.
This is really it. If you want complexity you have total warhammer. This is better being relatively simple but needs a longer and more fleshed out campaign.

I don't fully understand this selling strategy, game should be priced. I believe that many gamers interested in wargames are 30+ ppl, having steady income, ready to pay something for a game. When they see a free game they think it is monetized crap product. Like myself, without 'dex I would never try this game.
I would never have tried this game if it wasn't free, not in this state of development at least. Now I could just try it with zero expectations.

I'm playing the free version to get a hang of it, but I think it has great potential. IDK if I'll wait for a full buy or just straight up buy the DLCs to encourage the dev, but I have no problem with this monetization. The free game is basically a glorified early access demo.

BTW the gaym got lots of updates lately, new maps as well as interface/rules expansion. Now there is for example an option to have your units flee when an enemy charges them. The SP campaign also got some tweaks.

MP scene is still alive and well, just played a match and whacked me some orks with my imperial wizard and the boys. Wasnt looking too good when my light cav fled the fight with some brutes despite flank charging into an ongoing melee. The wizard was an absolute kang though and helped to turn things around by casting Hex of Doom on the enemy warboss and ogre, both of which got their asses kicked soon after. Feels good man.

Those greedy fucks just sit and wait until the game gets bigger so they can sue the guy for more money.

I wouldn't blame them if they go that route even though I'm not a fan of their practices. This game is ripping off one of their IPs.

Are you one of the devs or what? These are not generic fantasy factions with units that are so commonplace these days. Instead every faction is directly taken from the Warhammer Fantasy setting, each with the specific units. The darkborn faction is a 1:1 knockoff of the dark elves faction - raptor knights (cold one knights), hydra, boltthrowers, dark pegasus (mount) and everything else included.

It's not about copyrighting a dark elf riding a big lizard, it's about doing nothing but copying whole factions off and their entire rosters, including specific WF factions and units (especially some unique WF units), such as Skaven, Warriors of Chaos, or Beastmen.

Can't wait for the Bretonnia and the Tomb Kings DLCs.
Agreed… i am looking forward to using the ‘Holy Drinking Vessel Knights’ led by the ‘Madame of the Large Pond’ and the ‘Bluish/Yellowish Knight’….

Don't know if he is or not, but are you a GW IP lawyer or something?

You can not copyright vague concepts like "Elf on Lizard." Sure, copyright and trademark the name for brand recognition. But the names here are different. And GW do not nor will they ever have a monopoly on fantasy race rides fantasy creature into battle. Or we'd never ever get any fantasy beyond Lord of the Rings and Elric.
