does it make sense to have both ranger and rogue? they seem similar
I'm playing with both and in some situations one is better, in some is the other. The only problem is that the game has resistant or outright immune to piercing dmg mobs but that's not a huge deal, especially for rogue (he still can sneak attack them with bkup weapons).

You can craft a better longsword by this point.
No, I can't. The lobbies in Solasta want me to do more favours to them before they sell me any recipes and primed weapons.
Do not bother with the new empire trader, you will eventually find the primed weapons as loot . Even if you dont , you better favor up the council one selling +2 weapons. First antiquarian for the excellent items he sell, the tomes, the belt, the spider climbing items , you could even dump str into cha on your pally as you get ogre gauntlets giving 21 str very soon.

George Floyd has finally learnt to see in the dark, which should make me regret making a human paladin less. Meanwhile, good old Ben Shapiro does what Shapiro does best.

Because i am level 7 and still use shitty generic weapons because i don't have the fucking special weapons you need for upgrading and only the arcanum sells them. The game have the worst itemization i have seen in me life. You have plenty of slots but the game just doesn't have the item to put in them.
Come back to the dungeon with the library in it, and search all the chests using a character with Fly.
Oh wow such a useful advice. How didn't i think of looting shit in a RPG is beyond me...geee...

The faction system is really retarded,i still can't craft anything useful because of it lol. I want to make a nice rapier, but nah nigga, you need prime rapiers which are cheap but only one faction shop sells them. What a fucking garbage game.

Guess I'm the only one that find the writing good. I mean it's not Dostoyevsky, but it's to the point and I think it's suits the adventure really well. Might have a bit of a Saturday morning cartoon feeling to it, but it adds to the charm for me. It's not like Larian whimsical cringe at all.

There is literally no reason to make a human Paladin, and the Oath of Tirmar is basically pointless in that context. It's semi-good in certain circumstances if you make an all-human party, I guess. Casting Light on a front-liner's items is enough to eliminate disadvantage for melees, so it's good for ranged attacks when your party is close to your Paladin when there are no other light sources available, like torches on the wall. That's it. While it sounds good in a vacuum, it's actually competing with the far-superior Oaths of Devotion and the Motherland, an opportunity cost that it doesn't make up for imo. But again, it's pointless to make humans in this game outside of LARPing.

I know that oath of devotion is very good, but I already did it in the EA, felt like doing something different and testing out their channel divinity. Some liar here, on Codex, also told me that humans are completely fine, you can just cast Light. On the subject of channel divinity, it might be good (or it might be terrible), but it relies completely on paladin getting the right dialogue option. What if the paladin doesn't get the persuasion check? What if, say, ranger gets it?

Apologies, not a longsword, a greatsword. My fighter had a crafted Lightbringer Greatsword at that point (2d12 + 1d8 Radiant). Same max damage as Erwin's sword when used as two-hander, but slightly higher average. If I waited a little bit before crafting that, I could have had a Doombringer Greatsword (2d12 + 1d6 Necrotic + 1d4 Poison recurring) - I have the ingredient and the recipe in my inventory, but I've used my primed greatsword. That outclasses Erwin's sword quite significantly. I also have a primed longsword, but only the ingredients for Frostbite Longsword (1d8/1d10 + 1d8 Cold), which is slightly inferior. Finally, a little later - I think in the course of doing the volcano level - I've crafted him a ridiculous Greataxe of Sharpness (1d12+2 + 1d10+2 Lightning).
All of the primed weapons, ingredients and recipes for those were found in chests (some ingredients may have been quest rewards), I've never bought anything from the Arcaneum. Also, the only vendor I know who sells enchantment recipes is the non-faction woman at Manacalon Ruin; Circle of Knowledge only sells recipes for scrolls.

So, the Scavengers actually set up outposts when you send them somewhere? This wasn't the case during EA.

Oath of tirmar is good , paly+shield has a reaction to block incoming attacks on every allies within 5 feet , giving disadvantage . Then the defensive aura are pretty good. Then again if you want to go full damage its probably better in solasta, you can down foes very fast. Nothing really requiring an heavy defense. As i said if i redo it, i rather use 4 dps , 3 ranger/rogue + wizard or sorc when it's out. Moving in stealthily using surprise and shooting everything before they can even get close is likely the best approach.

It's not about light, but about constantly running away like a complete bitch. My paladin couldn't keep up.

1. I guess you recommend Scavenger difficulty for a challenge and first run?
2. I love mages in DnD games, and I am disappointed with the party of 4, but I MUST bring 2 mages on my adventure. So, I was thinking of bringing two mages, one leric, and one fighter (or any other frontliner). What do you think? Two humans and two dwarves, i dont like elves. Is a rogue mandatory (locked chests, traps, etc.)?

Thanks.

But Dancing Lights can! They have like 12 speed.
Plus, you should have access to 3rd-levels spells by now. Haste is one option, flight is another - it also gives the flying creature 12 speed.

You need a character to unlock chests, but it doesn't need to be a Rogue. Anyone with proficiency in Thieves' Tools can unlock chests and disarm traps, so you just need a character with the Lowlife background. Just remember to cast Guidance with your Cleric every time you need to open a locked chest and learn Knock with your Wizard to scavenge areas after you cleared them.

With my test party I didn't have a rogue, so in the tutorial my good hearted stand-up citizen of justice and law was the one that had to sneak in and steal the diamond. Felt a bit odd.

There's honestly nothing better than watching people run into spirit guardians and die. It never gets old.
