I did the civil war quest line and found the resolution so unsatisfying I believe I stopped playing. In the main quest I got as far as finding the super secret base but don't think I progressed further.
I don't see how it would be worse storywise than... well, any of the guild questlines. Sure, the story is almost nonexistent, just like the quest design, but it's the only questline (aside from maybe the Dark Brotherhood) that doesn't fall flat on its ass during the first two quests or so. TG, MG and Companions are much more likely to cause you to rage-quit and uninstall the game. The civil war faction questline is by far the game's worst, as far as story and quest design are concerned.
Yeah but the most fucked up thing about the mages guild quest was that it was a self inflicted disaster... as in, if you as a novice didn't activate the orb of doom because "chosen retard" then you wouldn't have to save the world from the orb of doom. The only quest line I actually mildly enjoyed was teh companions, at least that was just a bunch of random shit happens to some drunken mercenaries, no world saving, no killing the emperor of all humanity, no fucking mention of a chosen one, no Ulfric. Just killing saber cats inside people's houses for profit.Because expectations. The other questlines don't use civil war + dragons as a backdrop. There's no excuse for fucking up with an awesome plot hook like that.
And I'll take saving the Mages' college as a novice over picking flowers for Ajira any day.
Is there a way to buy that from Europe? I tried entering USA adress (like for Amazon) but it didn't work.Apparently Skyrim is $5 on Gamestop.com, has to be an error: http://www.gamestop.com/pc/games/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim/97815

Watching the traffic lights change is more epic than Skyrim's final "boss".
They need to bring back the dungeons that are so big you get hopelessly lost and are forced to start a new guy

...if you ever managed to do that in Daggerfall you are prob not meant to play Elder Scrolls.

Starting a new guy might be extreme, but there were plenty of times in the early game where you could get totally fucked by a dungeon to the point of being forced to reload. Usually standing yourself in an unpassable underwater area or falling down a one-way pit that can't be climbed out of.
Who said he's talking about Daggerfall? It could be Oblivion.
In Daggerfall you can climb vertical walls. Or Recall out, if you don't forget to anchor. But nevertheless, dungeons there are too complex. Finding exit is one thing, finding quest objective that could be everywhere...Starting a new guy might be extreme, but there were plenty of times in the early game where you could get totally fucked by a dungeon to the point of being forced to reload. I think Arena had the best dungeons - not too complex, not too simple.
