This is no longer a shin megami tensei* game (the title changed) :smug:

Now it can safely be ignored. Begone weeaboo filth

*or Fire Emblem game. It's pretty much just Persona. With FE characters + Idols.

Did persona hurt your butthole so much? The only thing i really dislike about it (besides the horrid dungeons), is their stupid shonen harem decline, but even that is getting better (at least Yu gets rekted if he tries dating all the girls in Golden).

SMT is just as formulaic in a slightly different way with the chaos/neutral/law endings and absolute refusal to have a gurl protagonist. Good old jap sexism.

I like Persona, this game just looks a lot like it. I can't describe it in any other fashion. The menus, battles, dungeons, they all resemble Persona 4.

Mmm, i haven't been paying much attention to it really. I know it's not a sjrpg and i know it's a dumb TB jrpg and i know it's a waifu-fest and i know it's a fanfiction.net-bottom tier crossover so i don't care.... just like the new Valkyria Chronicles it seems

I still hold a slight hope this game will be decent, despite the crossover part being seemingly omitted and the lame pop idol theme.

Maybe it's because I actually own a Wii-U. The new VC game is just dumb, the characters make it look like Tales Of x Valkyria Chronicles. How fitting.

So, this is Nintendo's answer to Sony monopolizing Persona.

I'm gonna go play Castlevania III and remember a better time of gaming.

It isn't out yet.

EDIT: In places that matter.
EDIT EDIT: To answer your question, probably not. Seems to be more for Persona players than anything else.

I'm going to make a bold prediction; it's going to be more entertaining exploring the game for all the silly/downright stupid censorship that NoA put this thing through than actually playing the game.

I can't say I was interested in this shit past the revelation that it turned out to be some sort of Persona x Idol Industry x Fire Emblem abomination, but what Nintendo's been doing to the localization is already the icing on top of this hilarious clusterfuck. It's almost funny if it wasn't so depressing.

There's no way I'm gonna play this. It's way too embarrassing, even for me. I'll not suffer my wife walking in on me while some godawful musical piece is going on.

This game had so much potential.
Game or idea of crossover?

All of it. I just keep thinking of the first trailer. Could've been a simple crossover tactical JRPG with a lot of fanservice. Roy could cleave Beelzebub in half or team up with the Demifiend or something. The two series have so much to draw from.

But nope they had to infect it with the worst kind of weeb shit and then censor all the anime boobs while they were at it.

I generally like crossover games. These are two IPs that really could've been used for something cool and even sold a few Wii Us.

Putting all the horrible fan service aside, I'm actually expecting core gameplay to be quite similar to SMT/Persona series. You roam labyrinths, fight demons, using different abilities and skills just like in SMT. At the same time there are weapon mechanics and level up system borrowed from FE series, as well as some Persona stuff like taking on a role of some FE characters on your protagonists. It could be enjoyable, if you can skip all the awkward plot sequences, but again it could be not. We'll see how it goes.

I'm pretty sure that the awkwardness has been injected into the combat gameplay as well with dumb idolshit singing and dancing to use special attacks / summons.

I don't know, maybe I'm missing something, but so far combat phase seems fine to me

The combat UI tells me it's still a megaten game after all, so there's still hope for a decent game underneath all of that festive stuff going on. Although I could be wrong and it will be unbearable LOL. The lack of turn-based RPGs or an ATLUS-style RPG in general on Wii U really makes me wish it to be good.

I also expected something like this, probably alongside most people. Too bad that according to interviews first trailer was nothing more than teaser that had nothing to do with idea Atlus came up later. For some reason they thought that making srpg is bad idea because there are already recent Fire Emblem games. Still its first Atlus rpg not on handhelds and from what I heard combat is good enough so I will probably try that. One of directors was involved with Radiant Historia so I still have some hope for it.

The game is probably getting a sequel too, btw. Apparently it did well enough in Japan, or maybe the devs just liked the game enough to make a sequel.

The game absolutely did not do fine in Japan. In fact, with all the advertising they did for it - it bombed.

I think they're making a sequel with the same assets to try and make their money back, if anything.

That may very well be, but I think modern Atlus is so hoplessly deprived and deep in neo-anime culture that they probably feel like this is an acceptable game. I mean, otherwise they would've never made something that's too weeb even for the weebs.
