Man, this game come with an original campaign and potential for recreation of all Shadowrun console games and PnP recreations, this is a shitload of content. It will be like NWN made by more competent people (I don't know if the end result will be good but it will be hard for them to reach Bioware levels of incopetence) with a less retarded fan base.

Yeah dude. I cant wait to see what people come up with. Just the fact that Hairbrained Schemes are going to most likely be throwing heaps of their own stuff out there too, this game is well worth the wait.
It's like Blizzard said with Diablo 3, no one will remember if it's late, they'll only remember if it's good...but uhh perhaps Diablo 3 as a product is a bad example...but a good quote.

Wealp, it seems it's time for another playthrough of Baldur's Gate.

Just kidding, gonna get me some Darklands from GoG.

So sad, I was expecting that this summer I would have hard time choosing what to play. But then it comes down to me browsing my shelf, looking for a game that I haven't played through way too many times. I was sort of expecting this would be the end of it.

But despite the butthurt, I'm basking in the glory of the gameplay vids and preparing myself for the goodness that will follow.

I'm expecting a experience like NWN now, with a campaign that I'll probably skip and an editor that provides years of entertainment. That's still a lot better than most the last decade, so $15 somewhat well spent.

I'm a bit worried that they have hobbled users' ability to deliver good custom campaigns with all the things they have cut (no stealth, new equipment/ammo, plus no save/load). Furthermore, I don't think this game will have a large enough userbase necessary to produce a few gems.

Still I'll get the game and hope it will sell well enough to warrant a sequel/expansion to add those things in.

Is a nexus site for user mods up yet, or at least planned?
I believe they've said they're going to use Steam workshop for the Steam version, so that covers that. Wouldn't be surprised if the Nexus puts up a page after release too.

The "no scripting" nature of the editor was announced many months ago.

This, it was pretty clear this was gonna be a babbys first editor. I'm sure a lot more can be done by hacking into it though.
Actually having baby first editor could be good because it would allow more people to do campaigns, with alot of people making stuff, while 99% will be complete shit, there are more modules in the 1% category.
Agreed with this 100%. Compare the modules from NWN1 to the modules for NWN2. NWN2 was a massive pain in the ass to do just about everything, NWN1 was easy peasy. It had the scripting language but even if you didn't come to terms with that you could do basic shit easily with the scripting wizard. Still, a hell of a lot more (And more good) modules for NWN1 than 2.

One thing I'm really curious about for Shadowrun is if it lets you carry information over between modules or not. NWN1 didn't out of the box, but inventories on characters carried over. I did a hacky way of keeping C&C between modules by having the first module shit out a ticket into the player's inventory that looked generic, but was uniquely tagged depending on choices the player mode. Then when module 2 was loaded up I did a script to check for all the variations of ticket and adjust settings accordingly, and if no ticket was found to set them to a generic "Ok run" setting. Then they later added the "Database" stuff that let you do all that behind the scenes, but still. +M
I guess worst case scenario for Shadowrun would be having a quick question intro dialog that asks how you handled shit in the previous adventure(s). Inelegant but it'd work.

Also kinda curious how/if it lets you carry over your character. The only bit of player-adventure gameplay I've seen it didn't appear to have an option to select a character. Jumped straight to character creation. If each adventure is set to be entirely self contained with a new character that'd be a mild bummer, but I guess I don't know how much room there is for leveling up in the game yet.

In the videos I've watch you can set how the player picks their runner(s). I think only hire new runners is usable right now because that's all I've seen. Presumably they're going to have other options, since there is a scene to make selections. Though now that I think about it, it could just be make a new character or hire one. Hopefully there is import character.

I get the impression that one could make a "hub" module from which other modules are loaded, but it's not clear.

Pretty sweet artwork. I gotta think of something critical so I'll say that the roads are a little too wide, leaving a lot of empty space for a futuristic setting. All that flashy building advertisement, but no consumers to entice? Pssh. Should've implemented polygon-light crowds that disperse when the shooting starts.

Just as a simple and cheap-as-chips getaround, I quite like the little crowds of huddled umbrella folk placeables. They're nice mood-setters and you can see their facelessness and formlessness making it a bit easier to accept them as a static part of the landscape, rather than suffering from the background NPC disconnect of, "Why are these tramps still obliviously warming their hands over their trashcan fire when there's a shoot-out happening right behind them?'

This game could be pretty cool, but I still expect (and hope) it will be the worst of 7-digit Kickstarter projects, because I have much higher hopes for W2, PE and TToN.

Yes, it's definitely planned. The nexus dude (Dark0ne) has already posted on the official forums about this a few times. There's some kind of server upgrade/migration going on with the nexus sites right now, so there's no ETA on a SRR nexus yet, though.

Well it is also the one with the lowest budget among them.
