Grand expectations. So why are people upset?
Also a developer on the SA forums confirmed that they lowballed the initial price. Harebrained is the type of company Brother None talks about when he mentions developers who ask less for what they actually need on Kickstarter. The original plan was going to be top down flash tier casual iPad shit. They only asked for 400k.
You are a Jew.
Wait, what? You can't save your game? Haven't been following the thread?

You are a Jew.
As are the two heads of Harebrained Schemes, what a coincidence
“After a lot of prototyping and research, we decided that our best delivery option for OSX/Windows/Linux is to go the route that great games (like Skyrim!) have taken and embrace Steam and the Steam Workshop. Steam allows us to provide up-to-date downloads and patching along with a vibrant ecosystem for developing community-created content and file sharing.”
“We realize that for some of you, releasing on Steam isn’t your first choice but there are a lot of really great things we get from this decision that allow us to focus on the game rather than on making things like backend servers to deploy and manage shared content. From the start, we’ve had to make practical decisions like this one to ensure we get the most out of the support you’ve given us. We consider this to be the best option for everyone.”

What madness is this?
Well the RPS article only mentions that the non-drm version can be purchased from the developer's own site. Will still have Not DRM game on GOG I hope?
You expected miracle for lousy 1.2 million of Doritos? Will still have Not DRM game on GOG I hope?

You won't get a GOG version, only one from their website, but that version won't be as well supported and there is no guarantee you will have access to the DLC and missions. Missions you should be able to just put in the correct folders, DLC on the other hand, i doubt they will be releasing non DRM versions of it for the obvious reasons, so that probably excludes the DRM free version from getting all the DLC packs they are planning (making an assumption here).
Almost regretting my preorder now...
