You should be able to give the possibility of double crosses through triggers.

We can set npcs to turn hostile through conversation.
You could just set it up for the player in a conversation, or maybe as the player is leaving the room.
Yah but it's more work for them. I'd prefer it if they went into it assuming the player character can kill any character at any time and account for all possibilities from the start.

New update: all those who wanted drm-free version can join editorless Linux users and start their own Roguey routine. DRM-free version will be updated only once when Berlin DLC will come out aaaaand... DRM-free version cannot into mods!

Maybe you're right, but then what's the point of their sentence? That you will be unable to use Steam Workshop without Steam?
What's next? They will tell us that we need to download digital version before we can play it?

I think they were just pointing out there will be no mod browser and installer in the non-steam version.

For the record, I think people should be pretty mad that the non-Steam version isn't getting full support, but I just think in this one case it seems like you can still play mods.

I doubt that you can play mods created on steam version with dlcs after Berlin on your DRM-Free version.

I doubt the non-DRM version will be getting patches either since they referred to the Berlin campaign as a "one-time update."

Good thing I have no issues with Steam. :smug:

DLCs offering additional editor content (like the often mentioned Orc Underground) are going to be exclusive to the DRM-version. Thus user created content using these DLCs will be exclusive to the DRM-version. How many of the serious modders do you think aren't going to utilize the expanded options of the DLC? This is serious :decline:

While I do have Steam, this is still some serious decline and nothing to be really smug about. This whole "we promised you a DRM free game so you'll get exactly that and not a thing more" approach, if we let it stand, does not bode well for future Kickstarters.

HBS is taking a shortcut. You can update different versions separately, sell dlcs ( :decline: ) and support modding for them without large budget - see Crusader Kings II and Beamdog's Baldur's Gate: Resized.
Fucking lazy greedy mobile developers.

It's possibly a poor business decision to not sell future dlc places other than Steam, but as I don't know the particulars of the arrangement I can't say for sure.
DLCs are ebil anyway so it should be seen as a boon not to have them sully your drm free linux version, you smelly compuhippy.

Oh boy delicious butthurt from people who backed Shadowrun. A member of HBS even said something like "We can't add in manual saves in a game with a 1.2 mil budget after rewards and fees". They only asked for 400k. :lol:

I really hope Fargo and co. don't run into similar budget "issues".
