Honestly think that every studio using Unreal is a massive gaming decline, means every game is the fucking same slop *drag and drop AI/physics/anim/whatever to NPC*. All this because companies can't hire developers skilled enough to learn and master a new tool, and or develop lower level functionality for their games.
Getting absolutely sick of the Unreal Engine.

1 minute and Skillup is already showing random freezes and lag.
3:38 ''I cannot boot this game in one my pcs, when I try to do so it just crashes''
''I was able to get it working on a 4090''
''I was able to settle at 40 fps''
''After enabling performance DLSS I was able to settle on almost 60 fps''
Unreal Engine and it's consequences have been a disaster for gaming.

I blame the devs for being too lazy to learn how the engine works to squeeze out maximum performance. Instead we have the opposite where modern hardware is so powerful that devs don't even need to spend time optimizing games. It's just sloppy.

In the comments they're calling it Eurojank like it's a good thing. Gamers really have become a pathetic breed.

Stalker fans are a lot like FNV fans.. ie. insufferable cunts. The original Stalkers were never good, and have only gotten worse with time. Anomaly still remains the best Stalker experience and Stalker 2, simply by virtue of having a voiced protagonist, is unlikely to change that.

I was watching CohhCarnage stream it, so he is running the game on max settings + the capture software, and it seemed to run great. He made comments about how well it runs. So I guess it depends on the system.

Anyways, /v/ is mad about this

I'm guessing its about the anti-cheat system, which would fall under some definitions of a virus? Or some novel DRM protection?

More like: previous tricks that every dev used to simulate videogame effects like mirrors, reflections, shadows and all of that have been replaced by a ''real'' way of simulating said effects, multiplying exponentially how much hardware is needed. Ray tracing is specially gpu intensive.
This is a side effect of every game being open world now, it would take an astronomical amount of time to do everything manually when you have to fill up a country-sized map so why bother?
The amount of time and effort it takes to develop these things is starting to harshly outpace how much time people and publishers are willing to wait for it to be done.

Both the original STALKER games, and FNV, are good. They haven't gotten worse with time, as their design is inherently good,d espite their dated tech. Both would perform very well and capture new fans if they got a proper remake.

Man, that sounds like a raw deal. I'm not so much worried about the bugs and balance, I'm sure they'll get fixed even if it takes a while, but the performance might put it out of my league. If a 13900 & RTX 4900 can't hold 60 FPS with DLSS Performance, I just don't know how much GSC could improve that I could enjoy those tasty visuals on my hardware.

P.S. The reviewer sounds like he's never played Shadow of Chernobyl and suggesting that a STALKER game should remove Encumbrance ought to carry a penalty of 40 hours' community service.

No wonder there was no preload for this game. It had day1 patch that is basically size of the game. Far as i know reviewers dont have it, for example digital foundry delayed the review to see the patch experience.

I cant wait to see how this runs and looks with my gtx 1070. Probably blurry mess like other modern games like starfield.

Performance probably will be improved with time. Alan Wake 2 run like shit but after some patches it suddenly became a smooth breeze. Or at least as far as I read on the internet, it's not a good idea to play that turd regardless of performance.

Anyway, just wait and see if there are some tangible fixes in 3 months or so.
