game [...] lets you turn off yellow paint
Reading this while listening to Priest's Evil Fantasies gave me an erection.

If that's the case, they should've made it part of the difficulty. On harder difficulties fucking turn that shit off.
...

I could literally hate-fuck you right now.

I saw some post saying that apparently only Nexus is allowed to host S2 mods because GSC wants to be able to control their contents, I don't know if the post was real though. Anyone heard anything about this?

areas respawn enemies you've already killed after you leave and come back
So exactly like SoC.
Simple example. First combat encounter, ATP on Cordon. You clean out the bandits and stolkers move in.

The new bandit team will spawn somewhere on Garbage and will move to ATP in 12-24 hours. If you are still on Cordon, you may see them getting in combat with other stolkers, animals or military. If you are not around, they will successfully reach ATP and reclaim it - not because of predetermined outcome, but because they simply outnumber stolkers. If you remain with stolkers and skip time somewhat, you can help them to defend.

A lot of this happens especially in the Garbage, it's constant tug of war between stolkers and bandits.

And so on
Every time you enter Garbage from Agroprom bandits will spawn from the direction of Agroprom outside of the level changer
Every time you enter Wild Territory from Yantar mercs will spawn at the construction site
In the brain scorcher lab enemies can literally spawn behind you in rooms you've cleared as you're leaving
Fuck off.

Clearly some good with the game, some bad. I'm skeptical that they can ever completely clean up the repeating spawned NPCs. They'll only attempt to hide it better.
Tbh I'm hopeful that this (and other ai issues) will actually get a serious fix because it's a matter of programming alone. The problems that are harder to fix are the ones that need coordination across dev teams. Thankfully it seems like most of the release issues are related to AI, spawns, and performance, none of which need input from designers/animators/etc.

I'm not sure about that. There were similar bugs at launch that got cleaned up in both Cyberpunk 2077 and Star Wars Outlaws.

What's weird to me is that it seems to be a relatively common issue in recent games.

SoC was a shooter with too little quiet moments in which the atmosphere shines

SoC oozes of atmosphere in many places, while large parts of CoP are just bland, empty and boring. Also, CoP doesn't have enough large heart pumping gun fights. Stalker is supposed to be a shooter, first and foremost, after all.

An apocalyptic wasteland is supposed to be empty and barren to reflect the desolation. If you want to shoot things play COD.

I want my zone to be a constant warfare area. Monolith, bandits, duty, freedom, everyone fucking each other.
i did a quest where i was sent to find some stalkers, found only 1 survivor who told me a monolithian killed everyone (it was actually one of those gravity monsters) - then i found him and he was caring for a guy from the missing squad (who would have died if not for him), and then a second group sent on the same mission as me tried to kill me when i told them theres another survivor inside the house behind me and that the monolithian saved the guy. they instantly tried to kill me because they thought i was evil or something

They're really trying to go with this "it's a bug stopping the feature" bullshit, really?
Spawner looking pretty basic between this and that snippet of a cfg file posted earlier. That footage looks almost exactly like the type of drop-in additional spawn early SHOC modders were criticised for back in the day. Totally broke the suspension of disbelief. Old A-life was much better at disguising its tricks.

Tbh if GSC won't pull a scumbag move and take stuff seriously, we might get another case of KCD, ie. the game will be patched in a year with possibility of some mechanic fixes/expansion through patches and enjoyable then. KCD also got rid of a lot of stuters and performance issues, though even late after release it had issues[like most games tbh].

They don't like former monolithians very much

and for a good reason, as it turns out

Nonsense, 29 monolith guys spawn only once as you pull the lever. No additional spawns

This is well seen in the stealth run

Maybe they can move through areas that are impassable to the player, like how they can walk up vertical walls, because I had guys come up from behind while I was looting when I knew there was no one left behind me.
