While I am still a fan of RGG, Infinite Wealth was the weakest mainline game. I think that Pirate Yakuza will overtake it.

The Man That Erased His Name still had things right, despite being a cash grab. I will get PY at some point, but not until it is half price.

Not sure what to expect from Project Century, but I am cautious in my expectations.

Not only because I feel like the series has declined, but also because there isn't much to tell Yakuza-wise. Ironically, the fall of the real Yakuza impacted the series more than one could think.

Could you elaborate on that? I started with zero. I don't understand why people who started with Yakuza 0 are being held responsible for the downfall of this series.
Obviously, by ruining the proper and intended by god playthrough in order of release which is Y1 - Y2 - Y3 - Y4 - Y5 - Y0 - Y6 you increased the entropy and brought closer the heat death of the universe. I'm guilty too.

I don't remember this from the original. Must be some new content they're adding in the remake.

What about Kiwami 1 and 2? Is playing them equal to droping nuclear bombs on orphanages? I need to know if I'm a war criminal :(

Y7 is probably my favorite. IW had the same team/director, so I'm kinda surprised to read this. In what ways/departments did IW drop the ball, when compared to Y7?

I'm going to wait to upgrade my GPU before I pick up IW myself, my 1080 is getting old.

^I liked Y7 as well, but Y8 is too unfocused and has a nothingburger story, even if I like some of the new characters.

Combat now has movement during battles, but it is too easy.

Hawaii was an okay location, but I didn't love it.

Ichiban as a character was much better in 7 compared to 8.

The two major side stories take too much room, and probably a lot of resources that should have been poured into the main game.

I still like it, but it's a general step down from 7.

Redditors latched onto the series with 0
Putting the blame on consumers seems unreasonable. Next time, try to point the finger at the men who are in charge of making the game.
I do, Sega is a garbage company

Pirate Yakuza demo is out. I will give it a shot during the weekend. The ship combat will decide if I get it on sale, or skip it entirely.
