Damn, I just reinstalled the game with 9.4 patch + version and it seems Wesp has started fucking around with disciplines too much, Dementation seems to be made much less fun.. What the fuck, reinstalling with Basic patch..

Classic :
5 Bedlam - The target and any others near him all randomly suffer one of the first four levels of Dementation.

Unofficial Patch+ :
5 Berserk Insanity - The victim goes insane, attacks at random, and then drops dead. May have a lesser effect on supernaturals.

It's obvious which one is more awesome.
I've always used plus version until now but I guess that's over. Does anyone know which is the last patch version without things like this in plus mode?

Isn't there an option in the installation to install the plus patch while keeping intact the way the Disciplines worked in vanilla version?

but both Malkavian and Nosferatu are clans best reserved for a second playthrough.

No way, Malk should be 1st.

Malk as your second playthrough let's you really appreciate how insightful they are, despite the madness. If you play it as your first clan you'll miss most of the insightful lines, because you don't know what they're referencing and by the time you're supposed to "get it" you'll probably have forgotten about random dialogue options 10-15 hours prior.

Not to mention you get more of an appreciation for how different the experience is from the "vanilla" game and get to play whatever suits you most on your first run.

He did, but not everyone is playing Plus.

Nah, it still works in the plus patch too (9.4 version atleast).

There is yeah, you can opt not to install Discipline changes and casting hands animations.

Yes the option is called "No cast animations and restored diciplines". I had no idea what that means on first install and could not find any explanation so I didn't check it.

Did We sp tinker with the music in some locations? The background music for the beachhouse level was so annoying I had to turn it off. Don't remember that rock music in the diner either, but it's been ten years since I last played this game.

He did, some of them (maybe all?) are unused tracks from the main game. The only one I like is this one:

Plays in the Nosferatu Lair.

OK I think it was this track that played in the background of the beachfront house:

Annoyed the hell out of me, how could anyone think it's a good idea to play that track in a mission where I'm about to kick the living shit out of some low life drug dealers?

Modders, fucking modders never change...

Looks like my decision to only ever use the basic patch is even more justified.

My first playthrough was Nosferatu (I did the quiz, which is what I recommend for any first time player) and I have no regrets about it at all. Although I found Heather, I never "recruited" her so she died and vanished from the game. This left me a nice surprise for my second playthrough as a Toreador. There were several instances of things like this.

The real crime is using some kind of walkthrough or guide before you've played Bloodlines a couple of times.

Most people hate the deep sewers, but I found them quite scary the first time. It took forever to get through them because I had no idea what was going to jump out at me next. Now I can rush them in 10-15 minutes.

For anyone thinking of a replay, Wesp posted on the moddb page that a new version will be out soon, possibly this week.

Good thread, it's hard to hold myself back.

Each armor for each clan looks different. On other hand, NPC use same models too. Haven't noticed this before.

Damnit. Started yet another game as Tremere and one as Nosferatu on top of my Toreador.
Maybe I'll just do several runs concurrently.
This shit happens every time.

I just finished my second playthrough as Malk. Did some stuff I missed on my first playthrough, which is how these things tend to go. I ended up putting tons of points into ranged weapons and combat defense + bashing to the point where I soaked damaged pretty damn well while dishing out some serious damage with the .50. Ming Xiao was still pretty tough, but at least it didn't take me several tries to kill her this time around. If I do a third run sometime in the future, it'll likely be Final Nights.

Patch notes for the ".95 beta" said that it's actually final. There was some excuse about why it's still called beta. Something with localisations maybe?

He may have just needed some more testing feedback.
