You can literally join forces with him in one of the endings.
Not what I meant. LaCroix always belittles you, sends you to suicide missions and makes it clear that he doesn't care what happens to you unless you suck up to him. You joining with him is pretty much an eyeroll "ugh, fine" thing from the devs, where it straight up gets you killed.

It's the Sabbat that you can never get on your side no matter what, and Andrzej is always trying to kill you for some vague reason (maybe he just wants to diablerize you, idk).

You can join the Sabbat in both the Unofficial Patch plus and the Clan Quest Mod, because Leonard Boyarsky once said that Troika thought about adding this alternative.

What sort of content does it have in the plus patch though? I'm assuming you didn't just implement the CQM stuff.

Did you miss the part where LaCroix was clearly going to execute you together with your sire and was massively humiliated by Nines when he stood up for you and made the Prince back down? Also, he's the game's main antagonist ffs, why should he be sympathetic. He's a very memorable villain, petty, vindictive, insecure, massively in over his head, and increasingly desperate by the end of the game because he puts all his eggs in one basket (that's full of dynamite).

Seeing him defeated in various ways in every ending is very satisfying.

You straight-up get killed in every ending where you open the sarcophagus, not just the LaCroix one. Mostly because the sarcophagus is rigged to explode.

I think that Lacroix legitimately thinks of replacing his Sheriff with you, especially near the end of the game.
He sees that you've survived so many times and completed all of his tasks that you could be a real asset to him and can effectively serve as his right hand man.

Plus version as i recall just has remixed original dialogue lines where Andrei of all people barely speaks and repurposed Kuei Jin ending where instead of you Lacroix gets tied to sarcophagus and goes to sleep with the fishes. Something like that.

CQM version despite some meh writing was pretty impressive on the other hand. New hub, characters and multiple endings. You even get to play the game sabbat shovelheads call "GTA" where a bunch of you terrorize new latino hub by killing hobos and prostitutes with baseball bats for points. Normal day for Sabbat i guess?

"Wow, I sent this moron to his suicide at least 3 times but he came back after all these suicide missions and he keeps asking for more. Fiiiiiine, I'll use him as an ACTUAL asset I guess" isn't really the way any other character acts or thinks in this game.

C'mon, it isn't that bad. It opens up a Sabbat option while being least intrusive. And you skip Hallowbrook!

The writing I don't have many issues with. The odd combat sections near the end though... Those need rethinking. Plus, the ending should play out in a way allowing for the final scene with Jack and Caine the Cab Driver.

I don't mind Hallowbrook, great place to unload all my endgame arsenal. Bloodlines is a magical game and the only part of it i prefer to skip is the sewers. Because i get headaches slogging through the same looking corridors for the x-th time, with pouncing tzimisce fleshlights, walking californian abortion ads and fat mcdonalds fucks attacking me non stop :smug:

Indeed, but I admit that I had to improvise a lot to make it work with the content of the game. Later when the CQM added the whole Sabbat storyline, Burgermeister allowed me to use some of his cool Andrei voice-overs to improve it!

Yeah, the battle with the anarchs in the completely black square arena was far below Burgermeister's mapping skill. Also not having voice-overs for these encounters made it even worse! I can only imagine he wanted to be done with it.

While there is a lot of competent voice acting for a mod, for example Andrei's actor did great. CQM could do with some elevenlabs to fill the gaps of shitty voice acting from previous iterations or where the voice lines were not implemented at all. Gary's new dialogue was unvoiced last time i played. The diablerie voice lines were just repurposed in game lines and it was bad. Bruno Giovanni spoke with Mercurio's voice when i drank his blood. That faggot Rico voice lines from Hitman questline still haunt me to this day. It really ruins the immersion more than anything.

That was of course before the whole AI speech big boom, but now there is no reason not to use it.

This whole AI stuff is going to make modding so much better.

If only woke anti AI turds could fuck off and die, they would do a solid to modding in general.

Just take a look how it can improve upon Bethesda's writing retardation and at least make the game more bearable.

Originally the raider gets bossed around by a malnourished grandma while "we don't take shit from anyone" plays on the radio lol. In modded version violent Raider acts like violent Raider. What a shock!

Is it stupid to be optimistic about this game? I was optimistic about dragon age veilguard and then didnt bother pirating it. :negative:
All the signs point to being cautiously optimistic, they don't show any redflags, but the game looks as plain as water without any ice.
Are you stupid or just trolling?
Most people here can agree that this game will be a serviceable, albeit forgettable, modern VtM experience, and nowhere as good as the original game. The definition of 5/10.

Unless they're bad faith shitposters like you, which I guess sosmoflux hit the nail on it's head with his comment.

At best it will be a linear "play once, forget it exists" game. There's no way it will have any replayability unless the combat is spectacular, and so far it looks unsatisfying. It will be similar to that werewolf game no-one talks about.
That's fine with me, the combat does look terrible but if the story is compelling enough with some choice involved I will be happy enough

Couldn't you, dunno, add the voice files to his mod? Make a mod to that mod?

Not without his permission and even if I had it, the missing voice-overs are à minor problem compared to the situations where they are missing themselves. If I would mod his mod, I would cut all the stupid fight-the-Anarchs-for-nothing maps as they make no sense whatsoever! There is a reason why the Anarchs don't care about the sarcophagus in Bloodlines, Jack obviously gave them a hint. So why would they waste their unlife for something they know is fake? I already told him that while I beta tested his mod.

He also collaborated with the eastern invaders.
