Has anyone managed yet to, like, play the game? Beat the first dungeon or something like that?

Good question. I don't think there has been a single post about anyone actually playing the game in 21 pages, not even counting the other thread relating to the release. This must be a new record.

You can't really play it at the moment because the daily 500 mb patches ruin your save files and characters. But I've messed around a little just to see how it works. To be honest, I wish there was an auto-battle function because the battle maps are gigantic now, everyone moves real slowly and fights with trash enemies can take like 45 minutes. I don't want to play until it has that feature, which may be never.

But also, there's definitely stuff in this game that wasn't in the original and when things are ironed out, it may be worth seeing.

Removing important features that the originals had, like auto-battle, does not inspire my confidence in this game. Well, the little confidence I had left for it.

It wasn't removed, it just wasn't implemented.

It existed in the original games, so yes it is a feature that was removed in the remake.

He means they haven't enabled it yet. The game is a tad unfinished as you may have noticed

Understatement doesn't get better than this.

The game can be finished... but there's a lot of shit still missing.

Just let the devs continue patching for 5 month, if they keep the current patch pace we have Ultima 7-like content at XMas :)

@HiddenX
Assuming that was directed at me, I was asking if the graphics of this remake are worth justifying the remake attempt.

Assuming the game would be feature-complete and relatively bug-free, of the three old RoA games, BoD would definitely benefit the most from a remake.
The old "3D" graphics were functional, but very limited, mostly due to few different tilesets.
Similarly, some gameplay mechanics have been refined in the later parts, as well. In comparison to parts 2 and 3, BoD often feels a bit clunky.
Otoh, I enjoyed the scavenger hunt-like story and the large world map to explore (even though there actually wasn't that much to find, but the stuff you could find did fit well).

If you consider the graphics "worth it", depends probably on your personal standards.

Why do you keep posting the patch notes here? I don't think anyone even cares anymore. 21 patches later and we're getting things like "Now you can complete dungeon X"

They should have released this as an early access game and this would have been fine, plus we'd have nothing to complain about.

I've been enjoying the patch notes for the fact they still have things like remembering to turn on creatures that should be in the game already and the fact they've gotten dungeon sounds working finally. I certainly wouldn't be bothered going to find it from the official site.

I do not believe the developers of this game are savvy enough to hire a plant. Bubbles is just another Codex oddball with a morbid sense of humor.

I honestly care, but only really want to hear "it's fun to play now", so the patch notes don't really help me much.
