"It is a finely made piece armor. The sword is pretty decent as well, but I have enough blades on me already." Marcán jokes, lightly tapping his sword on his hilt, and motioning for his spare strapped to his back. "Rashid, should you join us, you might also need something better than that toothpick of yours."

I'll take whatever you can spare. Even those great clumsy northern blades of yours. You don't have a scimitar in there do you?

I'll take this cur outside and tie him up...

Rashid makes sure to place the iron collar around Uvan's neck and lock it. He has plans for him later.

Oona looks Rashid up and down, "There's a dozen dead men outside if you need kit. I don't think they'll be needing it anymore."

Thank you. Rashid steps outside. While locking up Uvan, he has a look at the weapons and gear available.

Rashid steps in the nearly blinding glare of the afternoon sun that is peaking through breaks in the fast moving clouds overhead. Outside the seal on the portico is a scene of carnage. Dead men lay scattered twisted and broken all around the ledge overlooking the pool.

(roll a 3d6 intelligence check)

Rhenmyr gives the mail with it's rune a glance in the mirror. Uvan as well if he hasn't been taken outside already.

Starting to get fidgety and ever uncomfortable in the tomb, Urash inquires: "Well, should we get going? That blasted wolf isn't going to magically spear itself, I wager."

"I might want to take a look outside also and see if there is anything I might find more useful than what I have." Cormac follows Rashid outside.

If I need to roll intelligence also, here is my roll. [3d6] = 3 VS 16 so I made it.

Marcán nods, "Be patient, Urash. As soon as the others come back we make for the spear. I understand your plight, but I see this as another way of better preparing ourselves for the monster. Same reason we came here in the first place."

There doesn't appear to be anything out of sorts with the mail . . . However, when you turn the mirror on Uvan you can practically feel your heart leap out of your chest in shock. In place of a man's face is a bestial wolfish aspect and hands that end in long filthy claws.

Sounds great. You bring the cocktail dress, I'll bring the vaseline.

Errr . . .

Cormac carefully picks his way around the pit which takes several minutes. when he gets outside of the tomb he notices Rashid picking over a couple of corpses. All around the Portico are the broken remains of a dozen men, battered, twisted and posed in odd angles, when you start to pick over the bodies you find a serviceable iron longsword, a couple of shortbows, several spears, a couple of salvageable suits of leather armor and dozen shields devoid of marks or insignia. Curiously these men are bereft of any coins, gems, jewelry or other valuables.

Cormac examines and then picks up the best looking shield to take with him. "It's odd that these men have nothing of real value on them. I guess that Uvan brute is not someone you "work" for."

"Whoa!" Rhemyr steps back from Uvan and readies his spear. "Uvan isn't human! He's a wolf creature! Is he from Crannogmere, Brule?"

"I see." Marcán stares at Uvan. "Can't we just kill him now, then? I've had enough wolf creatures for a lifetime."

Brule and Fidach exchange confused looks before Brule speaks, "Aye. He's two winters* my senior. He used to thrash me something fierce when I were just a wee bairn. Of course since he reached manhood he's always been a bit reclusive and always off on some errand for Talorc, so he hasn't been in the village much. He's long had a lodge up-valley where he and his men live in during the summer and use as a base to hunt and raid from."

Fidach points to the mirror in Rhenmyr's hand, "What is that thing?"

I say we keep Uvan alive. If he does start to polymetastaphise, at least we have him chained up. Rashid taps the iron collar around his neck.

"A mirror that reflects the truth. Take a look." Rhemnyr angles the mirror to show Oona and motions Fidach over. Then he shows Fidach Uvan's relfection.

Fidach and Oona each take turns peering into the looking glass first marvelling at their own reflections and then peering at Uvan with wide eyes. Fidach shakes his head in disbelief, "Never have I seen anything like this glass in all of my years." He pauses and rubs his chin thoughtfully, "What could this mean?"

Oona takes the mirror and holds it up to Rhenmyr and the rest of the group, and narrows her eyes and purses her lips in a disappointed expression.

"I would think Uvan is not the only one in Crannogmere who is more than he appears. And that the sacrifices and wolf spirit tie into Uvan's hidden face. We should wake and question him quickly, but be ready to put him down."

"I agree. None of our captives have ever been very helpful, but it's worth taking the chance. How do you suggest waking him up?"

"Would all these chains hold if the Slaver wanted to change form? Waking him up is easy, we can slap him till he's up. Perhaps the Skulking One would wish to do the honours?"

I wouldn't mind that at all. Rashid makes sure the ropes and chains are tied around Uvan well. He confirms that the ends of the chain are firmly locked around the man's neck and a tree. He ties the rope to yet another tree, with Uvan held firmly in the middle. Rashid makes sure there are loops of rope around Uvan's hands and feet, which should be useful even if he manages to change shape.

Rashid nods at the others. He is secure. Someone please assist me by getting a fire going.

Rashid gives Uvan a kick in the back and begins to slap his face, perhaps a little too firmly. Rashid then stand above where Uvan is lying and begins to whistle. A stream of urine begins to hit the huge Pict in the face.

Aaah. Rashid sighs contentedly. That feels better.

While starting a fire for Rashid, Rhenmyr remarks: "If that doesn't wake him maybe it will drown him. Oh, I just remembered these. While I don't condone their use, I'm sure Uvan is more deserving than their anyone else they've been used on."
Rhenmyr gives Rashid the torturer's equipment recovered in Odessos.
