That shouldn't have been bait. It's not controversial. The game's packed with bugs, and some of them are meta-bugs, such as: abilities getting wiped off of character sheets, stats bugged so high a character can one-hit enemies barehanded, the aforementioned saved game bloat, the game crashing upon exiting an area and being unable to re-enter it subsequently, one of your characters suddenly attacking a friendly town NPC as your party moves past without being ordered and with no provocation (I can get a video of this if you like; it's pretty peculiar), the list goes on.

This shit's making news at Kiketaku and other shitty gaming "journalism" sites, but yeah, it's imaginary though. Probably Blaine trying to besmirch our beloved Obsidian's reputation.

Benign or gameplay bugs such as floating text continuing to appear after you've killed someone, visual anomalies such as the blue enchanted item border "showing through" multiple stash tabs onto items that aren't enchanted, Shadows teleporting too often, dialog bugs, etc. aren't a big deal, but there are plenty of them too.

I just don't like how some people make a big deal out of minor bugs. Yes, minor. Even the annoying "lose racial traits" bug is a minor fucking bug (unless you are playing on Hard and Paths of Iron, I realise in that case you need every benefit you can get).

You've mentioned Kotaku, I think they are actually being very fair but you can see from the comments section how all the retard masses see is "HURRR BUGSIDIAN!". That hurts Obsidian in the long run because it gives them a reputation they do not deserve.

I may seem like I'm getting a bit "BEHEAD THOSE WHO INSULT OBSIDIAN" in this thread but that is only because Obsidian are on the verge of a breakthrough here and this is good for CRPGs. If PoE is a success it means they can make more isometric RPGs like these, while continuing to make modern action RPG titles like New Vegas and South Park.

Played it over the weekend and it turned out to be quite addictive, a few things I can think of right away:

It really has the feeling of an Infinity Engine game - magical items with background stories, bantering companions, overland map with featured locations.... you name it.

Loading times could use some optimization, takes like 20 sec for me. You want to rest? Visit a town (load), go to the inn (load), go to the upper floor (load)... and again on the way out, 2 minutes spent staring at the loading screens. FFFFUUUUUU.

I really like the graphical style, locations look beautiful... not that you didn't know already after a few screenshots.

The game system seems kinda meh sometimes - your fighter having 900hp and getting a 2% bonus on something from stat increase feels like some MMO, not DnD (though I'm not sure if it's the developers idea or if it's just some WotC retardo trying to make DnD "accessible"; I haven't touched it since the abomination that was 4th edition). Still, I have to admit there are a few interesting touches to it as well.

Spell selection is similar to other IE games, just renamed for some reason. Instead of Grease and Shocking Grasp, you get Slicken and Jolting touch. Copyright issues?

Overall, it looks like a good game and a pretty safe recommendation around here.

Never seen any of this.

I have, in screenshots and videos posted right here on the Codex, on Kiketaku et al., and in my own game.

I’ve seen bugs you people wouldn’t believe. One-hit-killed enemies off the shoulder of Eora. I watched CTDs glitter on the screen near Defiance Bay. All those moments will be lost in time like tears in rain. [Pause] Time to patch.

Behead those who equate Josh Sawyer with a WotC retardo

I see, I see, so one of the companions has some kind of intestine fetish.

PSA - If you are running a ranger be on the lookout for a nasty animal companion bug. The companion will suddenly disappear (typically when loading into a level) and all you get for the avatar is a blank white circle. What's more, if you attempt to load a previous save while in the bugged state, it will corrupt those saves too. You need to exit from the client completely and then load a previous save. Save often and to different slots. Thankfully I only corrupted one additional save and lost about thirty minutes of progress. Could have been much worse and some people are really stuck with a ranger without a companion.

A game of this complexity is always going to have bugs. This is no way worse than other big cRPGs of the yesteryears, tho kiddos here are mostly too young to remember those days.

It's things like "confused" state being considered hostile by both own party AI as well as enemy AI that really gets my panties in a bunch. That's either intentional trolling or major Q&A fuck-up.

That being said, the only bug I've really experienced so far was the looping tutorial pop-up sound. Oh, and the quick slot bug.

Not targetted to the last poster, but could you use the spoiler tools or not spoil at all ?
The game just been released. Stop assuming everyone already know the name of the companions, where they are, who are the enemy at the end, how quest X could be solved, etc...

I've seen a charmed enemy continue to attack my dudes, but I couldn't attack back because he had a green circle around the feet, is that a common bug with charm spells or was it an exception?

Not even specifically issuing an attack command?

Did Dryford village yesterday. That was... interesting experience.

So many reloads...

I skipped the Defiance bay and went exploring instead. I was about lvl 5... so im not sure how the situation would have worked if i came there later, but doing it on lvl 5 on hard is so good.
When i finally escaped with all that loot, the location left unsolved - it was just in time to fight bandits invading my stronghold, with three members down to last 10 HP and no way to rest, out of spells... uuhh yeaahhh babey.

It was so good.

btw, when you fight the first assassins in the keep at the end you get teleported out of the keep and all their loot disappears when you come back.
that sucks.

A bug that permanently removes racial traits is a minor fucking bug? Seriously?
Yes seriously. Compared to unpatched Arcanum, TOEE, Fallout 2, Gothic 3 or Dead State and their bugs, this bug is as minor as it gets and going to be fixed in the first patch that is coming this week.

I'm loving this. I usually hate RtwP cause it feels like such a clusterfuck compared to turn based but I'm surprised at just how much I enjoy the combat here.

I have to ask (early Act 2 spoilers):

Is there a cap on how much reputation you can get with Defiance Bay by the story? I've been doing a whole bunch of shit in Defiance Bay that is netting me Major Pos including doing all the Crucible Knights quests and even got an Extremely Pos reputation from one quest but my rep is still "Faintly Good" and I still can't access the records with Eder. Does Defiance Bay just need a shitload more rep compared to villages or should I be progressing through the main campaign a bit more first (I'm still doing the 3 Leaden Key things in Act 2).

There is one quest that gives Extreme Positive rep if you finish it the "right way". That is quite massive jump. Though you probably did it already?

The only major bug I've encounter is the dubleclick bug and a that death godlike you are supposed to hunt disappearing after saving and loading game right in front of him.

Is this the one with Fygra in the Ducal Palace?
