They dropped that idea years ago (unfortunately).

Bloody Slaughter was supposed to be +0.5 against targets under 50% Endurance. Josh is going to edit the description and Tim is going to change the effect.

RAM is one of those least significant bottlenecks in my mind, it's so cheap and easy to upgrade, so even though Unity does not handle it perfectly I think 8 GB recommended is pretty reasonable this day and age. If you're running on 4 though you'll probably don't want to push your settings or expect CTDs in large levels or during level transitions (Unity's unload/load process for scenes was not designed for the type of scenes we're dealing with here and while there are manual ways to get around that it's not going to be perfect, I think Unity 5 will do better there though)

They dropped that idea years ago (unfortunately).
Why unfortunately? The install footprint of these renders is really large (as in, prohibitively large increases to install size on the hard disc), and both the build process and the flexibility on the user end to switch resolutions would be hampered. It's a nice idea but it makes sense that it would be tested and deemed unfeasible pretty fast.

That makes me speculate if it could be done as a DLC though, kind of like a high resolution pack. Don't think that's worthwhile to the end user though.

Why, luxury of course.

I do understand why it was done, but I bought a 1440p screen because of that decision and then heard they went back on it. So I sold it. Not playing with upscaled 2D assets.

I think you're confusing 32bit with 4 gigs of ram. If you have 64bit, virtual memory should mean the game never crashes (but occasionally chugs while loading things).

My PC can still run most modern games with good enough settings (Q9550 @ 3,4 GHz, AMD 7870), but because I'm still trapped in a DDR2 world upgrading RAM is just expensive as fuck. 4 GB should be enough.

Ok guys. I found this on Steam moment ago.
  • MINIMUM:
  • OS: Windows Vista
  • Processor: Intel Core i3-2100T @ 2.50 GHz / AMD Phenom II X3 B73
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 4850 or NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT
  • Hard Drive: 20 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible Sound Card
  • RECOMMENDED:
    • OS: Windows Vista
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-2400 @ 3.10 GHz / AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Radeon HD 7700 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570
    • Hard Drive: 20 GB available space
    • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible Sound Card

8 GB of RAM? Haha, nope.
I am mostly worried for the CPU requirements. I hope my i5 750 can take it.

Unity is a shitty engine. News at 11.

This fanboyism sometimes increases my blood pressure. It's one of the two best engines in the world.

A company of which you're a severe fanboy releases an unoptimized/buggy game? Blame engine. Must've been that previous Obs games were also using some shitty engine. Every time. They love them some shitty engines huh.

Blame engine.
I haven't played single game made in Unity that hasn't performance problems.

As people say- Unity is an engine which will run on everything, but will work on everything like crap.

Engine used in Dungeon Siege 3 was flawless in terms of performance +M

And it was their own engine. Obs can program an engine quite well it seems. Unless they have to work with shit like Gamebryo, Unity or Aurora.

After Expeditions: Conquistador, Blackguards, M&MX, and Wasteland 2 it's fair to say the fault lies with the engine.

How many Unity based games did you play?
Did you play Wasteland2? Hearthstone?
Do you know how many AAA titles are there on Unity? Is it surprising to you that given that most Unity based titles are indie, they don't run like Skyrim? Are you serious?

It's one of the two best engines in the world.
No.
Which ones are better and how?

:lol::lol::lol:

>fund a PC game on kickstarter
>start whining that the game requires a PC to play
>BLAME UNITY

>compare 4 year old games with modern games... both requires 4gb of ram, only the cpu is different... video card only slightly newer is required
>poor butthurt over not even having an i3 expressed in fake smiles

Arvan asked my two questions to Josh. First one was are you going to export scenes like w2 did, to which he replied that he didn't understand the question. (lol)
The second question was why do you restrict combat movement so much, and what followed was some incoherent tirade that could be translated as "we do it for the sake of doing it" or something like that. In the middle of his answer, I lost interest and closed the stream.
