Bought it. Along with Empire of Sin, Shiren, War of Rights, and what looks like will be Shadow Empire, it's a very crowded first week of December.

I've stayed away from PP (literally and figuratively) so I'll dip into it with a fresh mindset this weekend if I find some time.

What did you think of it? This thread is a tardfest of fanbois vs. disgruntled backers, impossible to sort through

I feel I have every right to be disgruntled when I got the game a year after I was supposed to get it, for a higher price than it launched for, and 15 minutes after the public launch.

That being said, I haven't downloaded or installed it yet, so I have no idea if it is good.

You do, the rest of us just don't give much of a fuck ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I just wanna know if the game's worth playing, not what the latest update of ArchAngel vs. the world is

Cool story bro, telemetry is a completely separate prompt from the EULA thing.
That's the only "agree to this" screen that came up for me. I guess they just targeted you with their "pseudo-EULA".
Watch your back, friend - you're not paranoid if they're actually out to get you

CTD for don't wanting to accept datamining in your single player game is not defendible by any measure. At this point piracy is encouraged.

Telemetry request wouldn't have quit the game if refused. Zboj Lamignat is talking about some kind of EULA in-game which I didn't see at all. Maybe you have to play the game for a while before it pops up?

It pops up on first start. It is similar to many other games. Zboj is just an autist.

I like how I make a clearly humorous post, which triggers you to go hurrrrrrrrrrrr and then call me an autist. Typical autistic behavior.

Let's say I'll bite though. Give me the list of games that pop up EULA right after initial loading and CTD when you click No. I'm sure you know a real lot of them.

It's ok for what it is.
And what is it?
Latest iteration of Gollop's Rebelstar Raiders (man has another game that he keeps making again and again, but that's not important here.)
Galaxy says that I've played 9 hours, but good portion of that has been me staring at limited menu and soldier visuals customisation options.

Tactical gameplay is reasonably good; there's bullet trajectory simulation, environments get wrecked (, but debris and bloodstains seems to fade away in a way that I don't remember in early backer test versions), reasonably good variety of enemies (with this I don't mean just Pandorans) and AI is ok at using cover. Speaking about AI allied troops know how to use healing items, but I haven't seen enemies using any.
Also that system of overwatch with adjustable firing cones is nice and feels natural to use.
Gamey willpower system in place of morale might be biggest weakness of combat. That said I haven't yet encountered telepathy using enemies.

Someone said that shield using enemies are easy to deal with, but I had a encounter with enemy faction that had shields, some serious firepower and enough armour to shrug off assault rifle fire.
Easily the most fun encounter that I've had in game so far and if using local civilians for spotting and distraction purposes is wrong, then I don't want to be right.

Geoscape portion of the game seems simplistic when compared to original UFO (or god forbid things that modders do in OpenXCOM) or Xenonauts and I don't see how some interception mechanic could fit into it without major overhaul.
At least there's lots of stuff going on with factions or Pandorans attacking havens, plot related locations/quests & missions that pop-up when investigating locations.
Pace might actually be too quick in there with new enemy types and events popping up all the time. The way that game level scales might be the issue, I'm playing 2nd highest difficulty with 0 casualties so far.
I don't actually mind that need to buy plane refueling stations is gone; player still have to keep track of logistics with the need to bring soldiers back to base to rest or going for a shopping trip into some haven or being close enough to react to raid against faction you're trying to get friendly with.
I don't have much to say about diplomacy, you defend places against raids, do one of those "choose who to piss off"-events that pop-up, trade or recruit; seems functional enough. I haven't done any raiding against factions yet.

TLDR:
It's ok.

I live in 2020 and haven't had the chance to click no on an EULA for at least a decade, probably much more.

Also, I think I'm giving up now. Despite being a fairly chill guy that never puts people on ignore, uses retarded rating etc you're really awakening my inner hitler that longs for codex to introduce mandatory iq and autism eugenic tests for all users.

I still would recommend Troubleshooter over this in a heartbeat.

I googled it, watched the trailer on steam and now I am ... confused.
What is this?

Only the best SRPG of recent times. Seriously, the build/progression system in Troubleshooter is absurdly deep (the "Mastery" system - like a really complex Feat or Perk system, but much more interesting than anything that's been done in games that have those). The combat gameplay is nu-XCOM-ish but with an interleaved action queue inspired by FF Tactics, as opposed to team turns (a bit like Initiative in D&D, but dynamic, in that there are things you can do with your build to bump yourself up in the time queue or bump enemies down, on certain conditions). Both your characters and the enemies, and even to some extent the virtual world itself (the so-called "field effects" in-combat - icy ground, nighttime, rain, etc.) are built with the same system.

Level design is brilliant too. Plus it's an absolultely gigantic game that puts many an AAA title to shame with its heaps of content and constant gradual introduction of new systems to keep it fresh. 'tis a marvel.

It's such a good game that one even starts to feel some affection for the characters and the anime story presentation :)

It's got more depth in terms of the tactics than Phoenix Point though, so it's the better tactics game :smug:

Yeah Troubleshooter is the sort of game in which you discover "neat tricks" as your understanding of the game develops. The devs have built a system that turns up cool little synergies as a matter of course.

Dare I say, it almost has a bit of a sandboxy feel to it - not in the sense that it has an open world, but in the sense that you're constantly fiddling with your build to try something new in the next level, adjusting, testing, adjusting, testing, till eventually you have a team that fits your sense of fun like a glove. And then the process starts all over again as more powerful Masteries and Mastery sets become options.
