What's mythic evocation, if it's spell focus (mythic) it's just +1 DC and doesn't even work with expanded arsenal at the moment.
Super waste.

It's +2 because it boosts both Feats. DCs are harder than other things to boost. You mean the Expended Arsenal bug? Don't need exploits to play the game well and thus effectively.

I mean if something is saving on 19 instead of a 17 it cuts the save chance in half. Game is built on marginal advantages adding up.

View attachment 44800

The lvl 4 Divine nukes can be easily Maxxed with Rod of Mysticism then have good chance to trigger their secondary control effects as well on top of the damage vs non-bosses. In RTwP the damage triggers Concentration checks that can interrupt spells with the control effect also stopping them if the Concentration check is made.

I wasn't referring to the bug but that now, it doesn't work with expanded arsenal (but imho it should).

And anyway picking it early means you would leave on the table imho more useful mythics like abundant casting, and late the impact is limited, especially on the hardest difficulties.

Sometimes it can be justified by the party composition but the value gets lower ad the game progresses.

It’s a Mythic Feat, Abundant is an Ability. Guess you could burn it for the crossover. There are tools to keep his offensive casting viable the rest of the game, but it really needs that extra +4 DC to “turn on”. I guess it also needs Abundant to get the slots since he needs some for buffs.

As with his fighting, the tools are there for his casting but yeah probably simply not necessary once the rest of the party is rolling and until then his buffs (and Channeling/Domains) are what matters. Would be fun to do a playthrough relying on Divine casting without Nenio’s Illusion at all.

Armor Mythics

OK but those were added to the game a few weeks ago. They didn't exist for the previous two years.

Armorless already sucked. I think they added those mythics to save the player base from themselves lol.

Of course SS has no choice, but it *is* a downside.
SS still get their bonuses in light armour, they just don't start with the proficiency. You can take a background that gives it to you though, if you're so inclined.

How I can become immune to fear? You enter in the battle surrounded by all sides by high DC fear effects

FjaSBy3.png

And my entire party gets frightened running in circles, my blizzard elemental start to aggro the entire map. Heroism and other spells to buff my saves aren't working and is really annoying to watch the same loading screen every time only to have my party feared few seconds later.

There is a high level cleric spell that gives you immunity vs fear and another that gives immunity vs charm spells (works wonders vs Vampire Dominate). It only lasts 1 minute per level but you can extend it if you were smart enough to get epic extend spell for your cleric.

Pal has anti-Fear Aura that can be upgraded to Immunity via 10 min/lvl spell.

Low lvl cleric spell gives reroll with bonus if you get your saves up.

The thing with Mythic Evo is this:

Archon’s triggers a save on like 80% of the enemies in the game without costing any action econ. Upgrading that by 4 DC ends up having a massive hidden impact.

Let’s say on Unfair average enemy goes from 12/20 to 8/20 to save. That’s a 3/5 / 2/5 = 3/2 = 50% improvement in the number of mobs affected.

Yep. Resolved look to my lich spells and with blessing of unlife trivialized that encounter.
You are lucky then. My first run was with Lich and there were encounters where everyone was running around in panic from standard fear aura :D
I guess they patched that shit out. I even sent them an angry bug report at the time..

I never had problems with fear. Unbreakable Heart is often on with Good Hope and remove fear is always memorized. The only fight I had real trouble with compulsions was that succubus who is aligned with Noticula that casts overwhelming presence. I had to get creative on that encounter.

I suspected this was the case in my review of the DLC :)

The new companion, while semi-interesting, felt a bit phoned in. Particularly her voice acting, which had a clear Russian accent to it. It made it sound like it was some in-house developer who did her role as a last-minute thing.

If I'm not already cranking DC on the caster, the enemy might be going from saving 95% to saving 95%.

I still have it in my buff routine because it doesn't cost anything really.

Heroic invocation, but why don't you go through the shit demon other route.

Started playing this, question: why do "modal" effects not show up on the character/inventory screen? For example, if I activate Power Attack or Fighting Defensively, the stats don't change on the Character/Inventory screens, while they should (to hit, damage, etc).
It is how it works, those screens only show permanent bonuses. You will see changes in combat logs.
Regarding power attack (and also mythic power attack) it used to be shown in the char screen if you hoovered the mouse over the damage output, but sadly it must have stopped working in between some patches.

Crank DC on your caster. It's good.

I've even cranked DC on Seelah for Archon's and Holy Whisper. So close to being good but not quite there. Would be really good on Core (especially with Good-aligned MC melee) but hardly needed. Too bad Azata Pal doesn't work.

BTW, Enforced Vigor gives +2 AoE atk/dam/saves Mythic bonus (stacks with everything). Stone Call is good way to trigger to lay down difficult terrain with Feather Step, Mass without doing much damage.

I think it also triggers even if damage is resisted (as with White Dragon armor cold damage).

Yes, Enforced Vigor is lowkey a great ability. Particularly if you can trigger it passively (for example from an armor aura).

Agreed, but I’ve long enjoyed controlling battlefield movement with Difficult Terrain so not that big of an adjustment to just dump it on the heads of my team.

What aura would trigger it?

I assume you are referring to the cold damage aura from the Dragon armour. That's fine but it's only 5ft range which is a little limiting.

I'm thinking Acid Fog or some similar effect could work as setup prior to a fight.

Maybe Molten Orb? The initial damage is low and splashes. It also imposes 1d3 rounds of 1d6 fire thereafter. A favorite metamagic Extend could fit the bill. Considering the bonuses only last 1 round for every 2 mythic ranks, that should give you everything you need. It will work incidentally with things like Angel mythic spell Cleansing Flames, but not enough to matter. I can only think of really contrived trickster shenanigans to make this practical. Still, not sure it's worth it. This seems more like an ability for a caster to be reckless with their summons.

Stone Call works fine. Slows down enemies, once the bonus is triggered lasts long enough to kill everything.

Molten Orb continuing to trigger is nice but just doesn't have the radius. Dragon Armor aura does trigger it but it's spotty. I've had it fail to do so even on the mount of the wearer.

The expense is a Mythic ability, but Martials famously run out of ones they want pretty quickly and AoE bonuses are always underrated. I picked it up after Abundant with Aru last time and had it available for the three big fights per rest. Mostly competes with Vitals and Barkskin slots, but her Barkskins aren't full anyway. Can also use with an AoE nuker if party keeps Resist up.
