only updates areas that you cant enter (that i know of) are amiris tribe camps and vordakai related locations that crumble after his defeat.

Look what I found when exporting textures again:

There may be more, but it takes time to export all this shit.

That said, I'm not sure what to think. I suspect that these are part of the "free DLC" with portraits that they're working on, and they look cool, but I just don't think that they fit the established art-style very well, but to be fair, neither did the male Tiefling Portrait that they added (I'm surprised that even made it into the game, it looks like a flat speedpaint) in the Wildcards DLC.

On the other hand, they aren't released yet, so it's entirely possible they're holding them back in order to keep working on them for a while, there's really no way to tell.

I don't like the portraits. Neither the one already in the game, neither those you just discovered.

If they went for BG1 it would have been much better (taking real pictures and painting on them).

Also, in case anyone was wondering why I was once again exporting portraits, it was so I could do this:

I prefer my tieflings without silly horns.

I think they had two different artists, because there's a slight difference between them, which is evident when you compare certain features of some of them. It could, of course, be only one artist, or several more, but the differences are quite consistent (just compare, for example, how the faces are facing in some of them, and how "zoomed in" they are; once you notice the discrepancy, it'll bother you forever, if you're big on quality consistency, as I am).

I really like the style, though, and it really feels like "character images" to me, which is a rare thing to get these days, especially at this quality. That said, I really miss the BG1 portraits, and they were really great, probably one of my favorites ever. It would've been far preferable if they'd gone for a style like that.

A redrawing of the classic Red Wizard/Edwin portrait would be absolutely crazy. It's a shame that tradition was broken, probably after the shitfest that was the BG2 portraits. Man, I still remember the shitstorm those started at the time, with their shitty pastel and hipster features.

I wish the buggers would just use a Trill as a tiefling instead of all the horns and crap. Having the dots go all the way down is fanservicey enough ;)

The good old times of airbrushed maxim models and Drew Berrymore.

I don't really mind speed painted portraits if they have a fitting style - just like in Icewind Dale.

Has the game been patched enough to be enjoyable from beginning to end? Sorry if this question has been answered recently.

About 80%. There is a patch coming out in January which will have some big quality of life improvements, but the game is completely playable right now (though rough around the edges) if you can’t wait.

Well, there is a gamebreaking bug in Chapt VII (basically the endgame) if you use mercenaries. Other than that it's okish right now. I have completed 2 playthrough, but I had to use a mod on the last chapter as previously pointed out.

edit: 1.1.3 but I doubt they already fixed it.

So now that weekend and holidays are here, I finally installed the DLC and decided to start over. Again. I'm going to finish this game one day, even if it kills me.

Except... I can't play the DLC. There's no thiefling, no kineticist. The new NPC is there at the start, so I know I installed it, but it just does not work. And a quick look on the internet shows that I'm not the only one with this problem. I'm playing Linux GOG version, but others have similar issues with Steam, Windows, Mac, whatever. And Owlcats seem at a loss at what's causing it, as the latest patch does nothing to fix it. Ugh.

Son, why don't you make things easy for yourself and go suck on a car exhaust pipe instead? Same result at a fraction of the time.

Use Bag of Tricks or KingmakerMods.pw to enable the DLCs, although use 1.8.0a version of the latter, as the maker of the mod removed the enabling DLC feature from 1.8.1.

Someone said last chapter makes it impossible to finish the game with full custom party which is exactly what I am doing :(
And I made such a party because people said you lose companions due to bugs but you never lose custom party Lol.

why dont merhcants stock new healing potions for me? i literally visits everyone, they dont have healing potions no more

Why are you using so many potions when scrolls are cheaper? Potions and scrolls should really be used outside of combat to stay healthy without resting all the time and wasting time. Spamming potions in combat sounds like a good idea but it's really not.

I rarely do healing inside of combat unless the situation is really dire, it's a tough combat and I'm down to my last person against the last enemy. You also open up to attacks of opportunity for taking potions during battle. But it's your choice. In my second run I just use all healing outside of combat and rarely do any healing in combat (other than sometimes spamming positive energy channeling with Tristian/Harrim.)
