Yeah, this game right now is BEFORE all the power creep. They are ok with it being zoom zoom and replacing POE1. Anything else said was just marketing to get the dark souls clout in to try it.

That is how it seems to me as well and it is disappointing.
Still for 30$ I will still get to try some other classes and still have 3 more acts of campaign to play.

I would be pissed if this was 70$ shit like D4.

And I am still waiting for Last Epoch to come on Xbox, I will give it another whirl (the non trade mode) once it does.

As I said, it was bound to happen. Also, sort of surprising that they've caved in on the ъъъHARDCOREъъъ "ein portal - ein Tod" concept this early, I've expected at least one Chris Wilson-like Reddit rant with DPS/rarity charts and explanations why we all have to shut up and play as they say.

I go Standard and I get a GJO in a tier 2 and Perfect one off a fucking white mob in a Tier 3. All the while I have played 250hours of SSF and never seen either, with MF gear and tier XV maps.

I had around 150 hours in, didn't even see a single endgame temple on atlas, I honestly see nothing to do anymore since farming delirium/breach is pointless pain in the ass without MF (I only have around 50) and the rest of the game is a breeze. I'll wait for more patches I guess.
right before announcement ive found 2 of the 3 citadels. I guess i will see most of the bosses before quitting then

Gonna huff some hopium and say that since it's a fresh game GGG has some space to add SSF only mechanics if they wanted, to provide some alternatives to RNG (we are lacking PoE 1 mechanics like Heist and Betrayal which had some ways to "focus" certain itens, but not like Last Poech has)

Trade is what most people play, and it gets a lot of traction with streamers.
I think both would change, if SSF were a bit more on par with trade.

But GGG are probably not willing to add more risk of pissing a core part of their audience off. And yes, providing a functional alternative to trade might actually ruffle some retarded feathers.

Despite some initial promise, they didn't really have the balls to go for a slower-paced game either, and they talked a lot about that one.

This was a problem also in PoE 1, I used to play solo and no guild/trading, after 2.5 years I hit I brick wall in progression

While it might have been a marketing bait for the soulslike monkeys and the 'elite' players who can't bear anything but D1 like slow whacking of mobs, the sunday's stream and their view on the economy of the game (when Ghazzy started to explain how not having a natural and valuable sink for the top currencies very quickly leads to inflation and market disintegration) show that they are simply clueless what they actually do and why. They probably actually thought that deleting quicksilvers and almost all movement skills while keeping the trade economy going would force players to abandon zoom-zoom. Instead, players simply abandon those classes and ascendancies that can't zoom zoom or just use gimmicks to move faster.

zoom zoom is kinda mandatory for efficient mapping since there is shitload of backtracking (gotta kill every rare enemy which is kinda tedious) and some map layouts are obnoxious

but its shit design since every build should use this for 0 sec cd blink

Map layout isn't even the biggest problem. Mechanics like breach or delirium are.

But yeah, Temporalis is hilarious. Why delete most movement skills, but keep one that can be sped up beyond anything that we had in PoE1?

They might as well have kept the quicksilver flasks, little harm done at this point.

That was my impression as well, that these guys are mostly clueless about what they are doing and why they are doing it. They just got lucky that their clueless ways brought about a combination of mechanics that are still better than their competition.
They did mention a few times other designers and developers that seem to be part of deciding things, hopefully those are smarter than these two. Especially Jonathan seemed even more clueless than Mark about what is going on.

My impression from the interview last night is that they are happy with game being zoom zoom, they are just not happy that is starts being zoom zoom very soon as people hit endgame so they are going to make start of maps easier a bit and put more tutorials and quests.
Also no nerfs or real changes to anything soon, they want to wait for next economy restart for that and they said it is going to be like in PoE1 (while it was regular), every 3-4 months.

At least they confirmed that they are not happy with people killing pinnacle bosses in few seconds, they want it to last 1-3 minutes instead. That would need 100x nerf to damage, lets see how that works out.

Anyways, we will not see any real changes until next league restart so everyone can continue abusing whatever they are until then.

I think I might restart in trade with ranger bow blaster or I've seen similarly good Lightning crossbow build with witchfinder that will be cheaper due to crossbows being less popular.
witchhunter is not a good ascendancy though. there's good reason why all the best merc builds are gemling

double support gems, high attributes, etc

if I wanted to make the most powerful character I would not go Crossbows at all but bow deadeye like everyone that is not Invoker or Stormweaver.
Witchfinder is because I found a cool build that has both damage and defense using that Witchfinder ability that absorbs elemental damage but it is not OP.

Gemlings are doing stat stacking which is not something I care about at this time. Maybe after the major nerfs.

Yeah, it's such a joy to kill almost everything to see the skulls appearing back at the start of the map. There are some good layouts a-la Beach, JV, Dunes, Grotto etc, but most maps are designed like Maze, Cells, Shrine and other maps that I never pick up in POE1 unless I have to do it for the atlas points

whoever can obtain it, deserves to abuse it. Perhaps its time ti introduce bound-to-account items
There would be only a few if there was no dupe bug.
Also they should fix it by allowing players to only ever able to get one per account per league not matter how many times they can do it hitless or with how many characters inside same account and same league.
So that once someone manages to craft a character that can do it hitless fairly often that character cannot be used to farm for Temporalises.
It would also make its trading value too high for most as people know if they sell their Temporalis they cannot get another one for their own use in that same league.

They disliked teleport for a long time and Chris said they didn't want that from D2.

So it's $prititual $uccessing in the sense no items break ever unless you brick and initally cooldown on flamedash and no dash PoE2. Kinda sucks. Whereas D2 had even mob making you drop equipped items now that's where "balls" come in.
Prior to v1.04, Lord de Seis had the Thief property, an unusual monster modifier.

Initially this caused equipped items (including weapons) to drop onto the ground.

This was later nerfed to instead target things in the belt.

Eventually even this was removed from the game in v1.04.
