If this game shows anything, it is the massive disconnect between Twitter and people who actually buy/play games.

No big surprise for anyone familiar with the data by the way:

The reality is that many people just want to play a video game, they don't give a shit what goes in the development of the game, or even who made it. It's also why many woke games do sell, [a lot or not is something else]. They see an image, a trailer or someone playing it, find it fun and decides to play it. I used to know people that played video game and they had no idea what dev did it their favorite games [something similar happens in music, I know people, myself included, that have no idea what is the name of the members of their favorite rock band].
I mean, the biggest example is Fallout 3. A lot of people bought the game without even knowing 1 and 2 was PC only game, in fact, they had never heard about it. And they didn't care at all. They saw the trailer, liked it and bought the game. It's life. Some people take a hobby as just some timewaster while others take it seriously.

Made a second base in a more open area. Three times yesterday I fast traveled to it to find it being ravaged by 2 of those large green level 32 elephant things.

So it is entirely possible to be raided by things well above your own level. Luckily they can still be killed and give a lot of high quality pal oil and leather. At the cost of rebuilding some stuff, repairing a few things, and having to put all my Pal workforce back in the box for ten minutes to be revived. If you make those repair kits and put them in a central box somewhere, Pals will sometimes grab them and repair structures on their own. Might need to be capable of both handiwork and transporting though, not sure on what is needed. Good times.

The musket is fun. Long reload time but it's satisfying to use and ammo efficient. Still enjoying myself and just got the achievement for 50 different types of Pals captured.

Nintendo, but also lots of AAA devs who are butthurt about this game's success, and Nintendo fanboys who are butthurt about it being a "Pokemon ripoff".

There is a LOT of butthurt about this game making the rounds.

It's like how people were assblasted over the success of Elden Ring, a game that spits in the face of modern game design (and pricing) conventions.

AAA devs are the most jealous people in the world. They hate it when companies that violate their retarded design principles are successful.

Elden Ring's success caused a massive outrage because it's such a huge game, with minimal handholding, and challenging gameplay. There was a lot of raging about its difficulty and amount of content.
Baldur's Gate 3's success caused a similar outrage because it's a classic CRPG with lots of well-polished content. There was a lot of raging about how this is bad for setting gamer expectations too high, most devs can't afford putting that much high quality content into a game, etc etc.
Hogwarts Legacy's success caused a massive outrage because Rowling is a persona non grata among leftoids now due to not accepting trannies as women. Among the criticizers were AAA devs pushing for inclusivity and shit like that. But players don't care they just wanna play wizard school.
Now Palworld is causing a massive outrage among the usual suspects because it's an indie game made by an inexperienced dev team who just wanted to make an enjoyable game liked my a big audience (namely, American gamers who like guns).

Any game that even remotely goes against AAA ESG minimal effort design principles and achieves success is being seen as the devil by these people.

I'm probably overthinking this, but I don't get it.

Who exactly is the rager supposed to represent? Nintendo?

What exactly is the rager raging about?
As far as I can tell, there hasn't been any noticeable butthurt (or any other visible reaction) from Nintendo about Palworld.
Closest we got was Nintendo issueing a DMCA strike against a mod that replaced the humans and animals with characters and creatures from Pokemon, but that was because the mod used assets that Nintendo owns the copyright of.

You're still falling for a psyop here though.
All the games you mention which people are outraged about are degenerate at least to some degree.
