You still get that quest as a Romulard btw. Members of the spez masterrace get the quest "reinforcements" twice. Get the exocomp AND be able to bitch about not getting the Rom DOFF.

Best deal. :obviously:

k I'm quitting because of the new admiralty changes

Not surprised.

Its also fucking stupid changes since this cuts on Alt creation that in turn makes people less invested in getting essentials such as DOFF and inventory slots, it makes also much harder to upgrade gear ... well more expensive to upgrade gear since what they really really want is for people to just buy Ultimates (except they forget to actually SELL THEN) and then Gold their gear, considering the Omega nerf of this year (another stupidity) things just got expensive real fast leading to Alts being further unwelcomed to the game, there is less point on having Alts and the kicker is ... this changes nothing in the end because there is nothing to spend Dil on outside Dil-Zen and Upgrades, they have not added new sinks so ... what exactly are they trying to do? Lowering the Exchange Ratio that pretty much makes people look at it and say "this is crap, I rather charge Zen"? This wont affect it because its just one side of the equation, Dil is NOT valuable for the whales unless there is a sink as Whales just get the Key-rings for Ultimates anyway so what else? I simply dont get it ... they just sacrificed the system for what?

The worst is listening to the retards that think this will lower the exchange, Dil is worthless ... Zen Store is worthless ... Lobi is worthless.

there is less point on having Alts
And this is why we don't take financial advice from Drakron. Seriously, are you a secret wallet warrior or something? Where the fuck do you get all that money to buy overpriced lockbox ships from, yet have such a piss-poor understanding of in-game finance?

I lucked out getting then just before Andre ram a hot iron spike on the economy ass, and that was like in just a month before. If you mean before that, as like everyone did ... Dil->Keys/Promo->EC and when TTC was actually active instead the occasional one guy trying to make a trade.

I didnt say there is no point, Alts in the game been discouraged since Delta Rising come out ... remember when events were per character and we run every single one in MI and CE for the 50k payout? Gearing costs also risen up being 5th slot mandatory unlock cost that I still find exorbitant and yes, you can just roll a JH that will be "properly geared" to run event queues but the system is not incentivizing Alts, its incentivizing garbage were all there are is a bunch of "Cryptic functional" JH Steelmax the queues and I excuse me if I dont like a situation were I am playing a game with a bunch of Chinese Farming Bots.

Of course we can go back to the old days of pre-ASS and just run catfood again, happy about that? Because I am fucking not ... I do try to get my characters geared but the costs are now prohibitive because in the past, when I wanted then I just run ASS for the resources, now that door is closed.

On the plus side, the more Andre gets desperate and pulls shit like this, the more the game suffers and the most likely he gets the boot when things get desperate enough, then I suspect they will panic and shower us with gifts trying to get some population back up before the game dips into the negative and they all join the Socialist State of Kalifornia unemployment list.

You SAY this, and yet I keep constructing additional pylons, so I'm not apparently very discouraged.

remember when events were per character and we run every single one in MI and CE for the 50k payout?
God yes, that was terrible, remember when we had to do THAT MUCH Mirror Hell? Now we can just do it once and forget about it. Who gives a shit about the 50K payout? It's 50K unrefined, on a schedule you don't control, which means it plays absolutely no role in your financial planning.

Gearing costs were already insane, and the 5th slot represents a statistically insignificant fraction thereof.

I do try to get my characters geared but the costs are now prohibitive because in the past, when I wanted then I just run ASS for the resources, now that door is closed.
Say what? Pretty much nothing has changed. You know I'm STILL running ASS, and, in fact, intend to construct additional pylons to do so, right? I have changed basically nothing about my strategy, other than increasing my emphasis on the KDF campaign now that it pays refined-fungible-value instead of just more unrefined.

I dunno what you're freaking out over. This is a GOOD thing, it's GOOD for your bottom line. Not only will your income be largely unaffected in the long run, but what income you have now will give you increasingly MORE since the DX prices are DOWN. The entire PTKF/NFA community is unanimous on this point, we're all pleased by this.

Honestly I dont see it, granted I kinda stop doing ASS ages ago and the so called "bonus" is utterly lost to me as my main source of Dil was payouts when I was actively working on those toons.
If everything is better for your bottom line then the rich got richer and the poor can just fuck off ... typical really, maybe I am oh so wrong but perception is important and the way I see it, I just lost a major source of Dil generation even if I wasnt using it.

You can't LOSE a source that you weren't even using, Drakron. That makes no sense. If you actually WERE using it, you'd realize that source has just become more lucrative. And what do you mean, the rich getting richer? This negatively affects those rich wallet warriors, with falling DX rates, while it positively affects us poors who can't afford fancy promo ships like YOU.

Kinda late but ...

First, the 11th hour, and Anniversary I suppose, is upon us so its the annual "what 3 2 missions were added to the game since last year" return for people that forgot to uninstall this game but wait there is more!
Ever wanted to be so original and fly a Klingon Bird-of-Prey named HMS Bounty? Now you can ... everyone can now fly anything (as long you have a lv65 KDF character) no more faction distinctness!
Speaking of the Klingon Defense Farse, yes ... still Julia because that fucking isnt going to end but now there is a KDF recruitment event that is stupidly grindy and shitty but at least you dont have to create a Discovery Klingork and did I mention the Year of the Klingon is not over yet? Behold the 2021 Anniversary Pack!

Klingon pack...with just one boat...for "Year of Klingon"? :D

Two, B'rel (Bird-of-Prey) and Vor'cha (TNG era Battlecruiser) with the other two being the Excelsior and the Ambassador since as usual they fucked up and put the image with all the ships in the launcher so we everyone knows what they are.

The Gamma arc was so promising... but then it got infected by STD and dragged down the drain again.

When STO's already mediocre writers get source material from even worse specimen, combine it with the probably worse voice actor ever (Adepta/Laundry/Whatsherface) and add the patented nanana-got-fingers-in-my-ear mentality, you get a story revolving around Michael Burn'em J'ula. A character nobody likes. A character most players despise.
Dun matter, the writers like her. And all ingame characters are written to like her eventually, because she is awsome.

"Julia is the best character and players love her!" (tm) :hahano:

It is then, when you have already lost all hope for this game, when you realize: they haven't even touched the turd of a Picard show yet.

I remember everyone constantly hating on STD in the general chat. Absolutely nobody liked it at all.
Going to guess the focus on STD is something pushed by higherups rather than a willing decision they made.

I think its half that and the other half being they are a skeleton crew as people were moved to NW or MtG, they go about how the quality of the new missions ... until you notice how recycled the maps are and thats assuming something doesnt break.

I think the reason J'ula is still around is the very slow content release the game been experiencing for a couple of years now so the character remains because the story arc isnt over yet, they might getting ideas of replacing J'mpok with L'Rell but this is falling into the trap of having a voice actor that is "famous" (no, she isnt) and not thinking about how they arent going to always be available for recording that for a MMO is certainly a issue.

As for Picard, thankfully that show fucked around so much and then closed itself in a way that ... there isnt much of a followup to go with. I think they certainly had plans since there was talk about remaking the Romulan starting missions (likely so they had Picard material) but that was before Picard aired, they quietly removed some NPCs because the show killed then but they cannot rework Picard into STO simply because of how much it invalidates.

At the end of the day, all that matters to them are new ships they can put in a lawkbawx.
That vein has run dry with current shows now.
Picard had, what, 4 ships in total, because they just lazy copy/pasted 1 ship 50 times, and STD has gone... somewhere else.
Slim pickings for Craptic.

On the other hand, I for one am mighty surprised how they handed out free experimental upgrades like candy. I have 5 flying around FFS.
That thing was the newest save cashcow in the Zen store after all. Everything else goes into gambling boxes anyway.
Almost seems like they gave up on the store aside from laughing at the the occasional idiot shopping at Mudd's market. :hahano:

That legendary pack is pretty underwhelming. I want T6 D'Kyr, that vulcan scout ship is pretty ugly. Cardassian boats must have sold like shit as there haven't been new ships for space germans, but maybe they should have made better ships.

"Year of the Klingon."
Legendary pack contains 2 klang ships and 2 fed ships, instead of, you know, low effort legendary versions of all the klang models already ingame, like Negh'var or K't'inga.

Guess even now nobody buys klang ships. :hahano:

Sadly yes. The ships themselves are not bad stat wise, but not being able to use the Galor/Keldon skin was bad decision. And the Yugioh frigate pets are the worst pets ingame.

Plus Kardashian BOFFs are kinda unobtainium. I only remembered they exist because I found an expired exchange sale in my mail. :hahano:

I have come across Cardassian boff assignments a few times, last time today, it's as fucking rare as reman one, if not rarer. I have to wonder why they are so rare. Having come back to the game after a lengthy absence, seems like inflation has hit exchange hard.

Kardashian BOFFs also have the added problem of being faction locked, limiting them even more. Roms don't judge, they go with anyone. Well, aside from the fed/kdf uniform lock that you cannot see before comissioning, if that is a factor.

I still have a fuckton of rom/rem BOFFs on a storage toon from the time those missions were ultra rare.
If you need one and don't care about the uniform, I can check later.

I think the inflation is caused by they fucking over the Lobi store, in the past there was a Lock Box ship and a Lobi ship but under Andre that ceased ... now there is just the Lock Box ship, considering most of the things of worth in the Lobi store are character bound people can no longer depend on the Lobi items to offset loses so cost of the Lock Box ship goes strait to the buyer and this caused all prices go up ... well, not exactly ... it causes a effect were if you want to buy old things from a Lock Box its more expensive that new stuff because the market is flooded with "new box" stuff as older stuff just disappears ... this is, of course, so you go gamble on the Infinity Lock Box for said weapons and traits.

As for Cardassians ... well, Cryptic could had very well make then as a faction instead of Dominion or TOS Starfleet (if we can even call then that) that would had worked, its not as if there was no work done for Dominion and TOS Starfleet, I even dont think Jem'hadar or TOS are that much popular or more popular that Cardassians, more Cardassian ships are unlikely because the way they could had sold then was crossfaction ships even if they could compete with Dominion ships for that role it was possible but then Andre first made Romulan ships crossfaction and now all are so there is no point because the Cardassian fanbase is far too small to justify making then when they can just release another shitty Star Trek:Discovery ship.

I could write on how STO could had done but it would be pointless, simply put they gone all-in with Discovery and I dont think it payed off and right now they are trying to sell as much as they can with as little effort as they can and Cardassians simply would not "sell" but then again, who the hell thought it was a good idea to make a TOS Faction that goes Ah HA! You thought this was The Original Series but it is I, Enterprise with that stupid time travel that is so lazy done.
