what's with the breen boff ? got it with my federation toon, but only after i replayed the mission ("cold storage") twice during the extra reward period... didn't manage to get it with my klingon, even after playing it twice... what am i doing wrong ?

One of the non-Codexers recruited (marysueleigh, recruited by helpdesk) also had the same problem. I have no idea what causes it.

had a look at the STO forums and it seems like it's a common bug... if you've never done the mission before, you get the breen boff reward option for your klingon now, if you're replaying, you don't get it and it doesn't matter if you didn't get a chance to pick the breen the first time you finished the mission

cryptic extended the series replay time by a week for the breen missions and said they're working on a fix...

So anyone want an Orion slave science girl for a Fed? 10 mil, I can probably give you a discount for being a Brodexer.

How do you even get such a thing? Some DOFF missions somewhere? I've been doing some instigate defection missions but the rewards are DOFFs. Been lucking out though, got three critical successes, got two purple transport officers and a purple security officer that I was especially excited about 'cause that'll help scooping up contraband.

Also I got the invites to the fleet and joined up, but I didn't get anything for a chat. Or is fleet the official Codex STO chat?
Also also, was I grossly mistaken in thinking Aegis can be equipped at any level? For some reason I had it in my head it could, and scaled with the player as levels are gained. Still got my Aegis set sitting in my bank unused since I don't really need it on my tac captain, and I was thinking about putting it on my engineer as I'm leveling him (Especially since I'm doing everything on elite) but it kinda looked like it had a level cap.

Rank 4 Diplomacy gives you one enemy faction Bridge Officer as a Fed.

The chat invite is accepted in the Chat Settings, in the Channels tab.

And yes, Aegis has a level requirement.

Oh, neat. I'm rank 3 diplomacy so I've still got that to look forward to. And thanks, didn't realize the chat invite was squirreled away like that.

It has a few occasions of silly butthurt, like bawwing about losing KDF-only things like *gasp* universal BO slots and carriers. It's rather tiresome.

And of course, I can't honestly figure out why you'd whine about having to start at level 20. I think it's rather godsend actually.

Well, apart from missing out on 2 ships which you'd get fairly quickly since the early levels go so fast. But yes the game does actually only become fun from level 30 onwards.

i do get the whining about losing KDF-only stuff, though. there's not much that the KDF side had going for it when the game started apart from that stuff. bugs don't get fixed, promised content is still missing and then cryptic adds cloaks (or stuff as close to it as it gets), carriers and orion boffs for the federation side. had i been a paying customer, who joined to play kling, i'd have been pretty angry as well.

as for the start at lvl 20 stuff... it'd be an actual problem if you could start with a KDF character. since you have to run a federation toon first, the 'skip to lvl 20' thing for the KDF isn't as bad. you avoid some low level tedium, which you've already had to pass on the federation side, so it's fine. then again... it'd be nice to be able to start with a kling...

I still find it rather silly. Not to mention they make such a deal out of Carriers when they still have Fleet Cruisers (the Orion Marauder for example is an outrageously good ship, at least on paper), BoPs, Battlecloak and so on. Nowadays it's not even a big deal, except that KDF players seem to hate the idea of Feds having everything available like they do.

Btw, Orion fed science boff still going for 10 mil, broscount can be arranged.

next update is supposed to fix the KDF breen boff bug:
  • The Bortasqu’ Enhanced Tactical Systems set bonus no longer requires more than one Disruptor Autocannon.
  • KDF players who replay the Breen episode Cold Storage will now properly have the option to select the Breen Bridge Officer as a reward.
  • The in-game calendar has been updated to have the Breen episode replay run until 6/7 at 10am PDT.
  • Added more translations for French and German.
  • The number of project slots shown in the Foundry UI will update immediately now upon purchasing new project slots.
    • It's no longer necessary to log out and back in to see updates to this.

Btw, my second KDF character is nearing level cap. Are Fighters or BoPs better for a Vo'Quv carrier?

So does anyone know when season 6 is coming out? I'm seriously considering buying the Nausicaan Cheatship, and maybe PvP all my "friends" with it like an honourless dog (I won't name any names). But before I splash out the enormous amount of Kwabucks for renting a virtual spaceship, I need to know if there's some better stuff coming..

Oi, it's not a cheatship. It's just run by a crew of liars and cheats.

Oi, it's not a cheatship. It's just run by a crew of liars and cheats.

It has the hull strength of a cruiser and is more maneuverable than most escorts. Plus it's full of high-level bridge officer slots. No Starfleet ship comes close to it. Is there anything better on the KDF side? The Bortas looks good apart from the terrible turning speed. It's just as slow as the kittycat carrier.

Hull strength of a cruiser? The hull strength of the Guramba is 31.5k, which is 8k less than that of Star Cruiser (10k less than Bortasq or Odyssey) and only 1.5k more than that of Multi-Vector Assault Escort. The turn rate is 15 which is the same as Multi-Vector and other "large" escorts. As for BO slots, the number of total BO slots is the same as all other ships of its tier (it has the standard Ensign/Lt/Lt/LtCmdr/Cmdr layout).

Personally I would argue that the strongest ship in the game (on paper) is the KDF Marauder Patrol Cruiser, which has all the strengths of other cruisers of its tier AND a hangar slot.

So in other words, yes it's stronger than top-tier escorts, and just as fast. I meant to say it has good tactical stations. The cruisers very seldom have Cmdr or lt. cmdr tactical slots which you need to deal out serious damage.

The Bortasqu has 2 universal stations, but again, the slowness... Speaking of the Marauder, the Kar'fi carrier looks to be better, as it can launch frigates as well as fighters..

Actually the Tactical Escort Retrofit is faster (while having only 1.5k less hull strength) and many Tier 5 escorts (both Fed and KDF) come with LtCmdr/Cmdr Tactical slots. The Guramba is an ESCORT, not a cruiser, keep in mind, so obviously it has those. And 1.5k extra hull strength also doesn't mean jack when shields are down. In fact, hull strength is pretty much the least important stat when choosing a ship, as variation from the ship type tier median are generally irrelevant.

Kar'Fi is also slower and weaker than the Marauder, and has one less weapon.

But it has way more fighters and frigates, and it seems the Marauder doesn't use "normal" fighters, they try to board the ship.
