Gargaune, any chance you could compile a list of all EE-exclusive or EE-enhanced modules? Thank you!

Edit: And, if you're feeling particularly helpful, it would be awesome to have them sorted by recommended starting level, and "chronologically" (intended playing order, if applicable) as well! :)

I think the Vault already has such lists.
I've been looking on it, I don't see any easy way to pick them out. I also looked in the NWN Vault forums.

Am I missing something?

Edit: Even on the Vault's NWN:EE main page there's no listing of EE-specific modules.

It is possible to set the search functions on the Vault to look for EE modules only, like this.

There are also various lists of modules some of which include information like recommended starting levels but unfortunately these are mostly very out of date and probably will not include the newer EE modules, among other omissions.

RK beat me to it, you can filter the Vault's search for Modules in the NWN EE category at the top. I'm not really in a position to categorise 'em, the two series I mentioned are just the highlights I recalled off the top of my head - the Alazander series consisting of SoS (1-8), CToT (8-14) and TotM (15-22), and the pair of Almraiven (1-3) and Shadewood (3-7). TotM can also work as a sequel to DoD (8-14), as you know. And we're expecting the Doom of Icewind Dale soon, which will presumably carry on with your OC PC from level 20, if that counts.

rogueknight333 and Gargaune covered it but I thought I'd just add that when I was scouring the vault for modules, the search function RK mentioned with "sort by votes" was a standard method for me to try to sort the wheat from the chaff.

Go with the EE, it's currently 2.39 euro on GOG, so it's not that much of a risk. Most module builders have moved to the EE and the modules made with the EE will be more compatible with it. It also features some nice QoL improvements like having an interface to automatically download and install widely-liked and acclaimed modules/campaigns like the Aielund Saga.
Agreed with Lacrymas, EE's the way to go now even if you're only interested in singleplayer, you've got a bunch of very worthwhile QoL improvements, including some more advanced party controls, a bunch of new graphical options, and UI scaling. You've also got some EE-exclusive revisions for community modules (Siege of Shadowdale and Crimson Tides of Tethyr, Almraiven and Shadewood), plus access to Tyrants of the Moonsea and the EE update of Darkness over Daggerford as paid expansions, check the review links in my sig.
Thanks for the replies guys, I'll go with the EE while it's still on sale!

Phew, done, finished replaying the OC. Hoo boy, that Doom of Icewind Dale had better be worth it...

Highlight of the campaign? How about the scripting being so predictably ramshackle that you can turn it into a feature? Since I was using OHS companions, I'd completely ignore the vanilla henchies until the end of each chapter, when I'd just 1-1-1-1 through their Cool Story, Bro™ and just turn in their macguffins for the rewards items.

Daelan's Ch.3 quest, in case you forgot, needs getting the Spear of Uthgardt from the Elk Tribe chief. Well, I did forget. So after I got them their cure and the chief gave me the spear as a reward, I immediately pawned it off to buy shit I actually wanted. And then the half-orc asked for it and I was like "Oh, shit, it it worth losing tons of gold buying it back just to upgrade that amulet? Wait... Unless..." Unless marching my ass all the way back to the Elk Tribe chief and then murdering him would let me loot a second Spear of Uthgardt because this is the OC and all of the scripting was done on the back of a napkin someone first wiped their nose with.

Guess what?

P.S. Damas still pays you for Zokan's head, by the way. So the optimal resolution to the Elk Tribe story is to first save 'em and then kill 'em - buy the cure off Damas and deliver it to Zokan in exchange for the Spear, report back to Yusam the druid to close the quest and get your gold, then run back to the Elk Tribe, kill Zokan to loot a second Spear and his head which you finally turn in to Damas for a pile of gold. :-D

anyone has experience with the classes from the PRC compendium mod? its seems most if not all the modules are compatible with it.

Best mod for the game out there. Unfortunatley I can't get it to run. It installs but then you need to apply it to modules and nothing happens. Years ago though I played an Iajutsu master and it was probably the best class I've played in an RPG.

Question: Should I be messing with the Beadog HD textures pack? There are comments on the NWNVault that the armours are incompatible with modules, and there seems to be something about loading delays on low end PC's. Which I seem to be getting on mine and it's a pretty mid-range PC.

So does the NWNVault version fix these issues? https://neverwintervault.org/projec...l-hakpak/beamdogs-hd-art-pack-community-fixes

Because I promised myself I wouldn't go down the rabbit hole with all these mods again. Just don't have the time these days, and it seems Beamdog still don't have the professional inclination or ability.

Get user patch version so it will be easy to turn on/off.

After that add low quality PLT.

Does PRC still need an external GUI? Didn't EE remove the hardcoded limit for class and race?

uh, no, you dont need to apply it, you need a module thats compatible with PRC...
Getting a module to be compatible is just a tedious process of checking a few boxes in the toolset. If you like a module, convert it to be compatible, it's easy.

This goes for many haks actually

Wasn't there a separate program to graft PRC on existing modules? I seem to remember it even merged .2das and stuff?

All you need to do to make a module PRC or CEP compatible is this:

- open up the module in the toolset

- click on Edit

- Click on Module Properties

- click on Custom Content

You will now be presented with a list and a dropbox under it. Inside of that dropbox will be a long list of haks. Any that start with prc, are prc haks, and you add them in. Every single one, there's a few. Once you do that, save, and you are all done. This works with most custom content, btw. Only a few modules that are very heavily full of their own custom content, such that they conflict and are truly incompatible, are immune to this method.

The NWN toolset is one of the most easy to use pieces of game design tools of all time, don't be afraid to open it up and fiddle with things.

You are a champion. Simple response to stuff that most modders can't even manage in a readme the size of an A4 sheet of text.

What we need is a curated and organised Codex thread dedicated to mods that work with basic instuctions like this. And maybe warning people away from broken crap. For example: I downloaded the HD Beamdog V1.0 pack and it was totally broken. Made the game skip and stutter, but the community pack fixed it, and actually made the game look better.

So maybe we should have an organised thread with all of this in there? Crispy ??? Does the Codex not have a purpose? Is it not within it's capacity to improve upon the gaming world in any way? Does the Codex not have a soul? Is it not the responsibility of the Codex and the grognards therein to halt the decline orchestrated by such incompetent degenerates as Beamdog?.

I'm getting close to finishing my next module (the sequel to The Ruin of Tyrbas) and thought some of you might enjoy a teaser shot from an area I particularly enjoyed putting together:
