It's not about drafts only. Got 4x of every standard legal cards (including Born of the Gods) yesterday.

:yeah:

is it just my opinion, or did white get a pretty good boost both in limited and type2 constructed with BotG?
I feel that white in draft and sealed should be a very strong color now.

edit
going to the prerelease this saturday! haven't played paper magic in centuries

lol, I was just scammed for 2 packs on an 8-4 split. Who the fuck is scummy enough to do something like that for 2 cruddy packs? :retarded:

I've split tons of tournaments and never even seen someone a bit dodgy, but I guess there's a first for everything.

Pope Amole II, you know if there's a list or a forum threads or honor-type thing for posting/checking scammers and non-bros?

That's the best you can do, I'm afraid. MTG community is pretty librul, unfortunately (you get a warning for using the word "retarded" as in "this decision of wizards is retarded" at the mtgsalvation, for example), and so it's considered to be too offensive or whatever to post stuff like that. Like, splits are not supported by the wizards so it's your fault, man! Or are you just trying to blackmail somebody? That's the rationalisation or whatever the fuck.

Just so I understand MTGO, I assume the "Game" is free, but you need to use the online store in the game to buy/get cards? (Basically the digital equivalent of real life of owning cards). Can you lose cards? And can you buy specific cards? I assume the entire game revolves around the economy of buying/trading cards with money.

Since I know myself well enough, I have never installed this game because I WOULD NEVER LEAVE MY HOUSE AGAIN, and would go bankrupt pouring all of my money into this.

Just was curious.....

It functions nearly identical to IRL magic. Take any convention from IRL magic and apply it, and that's pretty much how it works.

The program actually costs $10 to avoid people making constant new accounts for phantom tickets (which letmyou participate in tournaments formfree), but beyond that, yes, buying booster packs is what costs money.

Or just stick to Forge/Xmage if that's too much jewgoldz. There's less people on xmage, but you won't have to buy boosters. Both clients come with rules enforcement and (shitty) AIs. The Forge AI is a bit less retarded than the Xmage one (and I like the Forge UI better). But forge is single-player only whereas XMage is online. Both clients allow you to play a bunch of different formats, including drafts/cube. There are downloaders to grab all the card arts from online sites as well and add them to the games.

Yeah for *ME* Forge is just fine. (And thanks to FeelTheRads I downloaded all the card art). It is giving me my MTG Fix just fine. <3

So. The next core set will be the last core set for the forseeable future.

:yeah:

3 block standard sounds funky.

First draft of the day. 8-4. First pick Nissa. Win 8-4. :yeah: (only played Nissa once though)

In one of the matches I beat a guy after he killed my team and played Resolute Archangel to go from 2 to 20. That took some work.

I'm really getting the hang of Black/Green in M15. Deck is weird in that most of the cards seem mediocre on their own, but together they do some work. Has one hell of a tough time versus flyers though.

So. The next core set will be the last core set for the forseeable future.

Huh?

DAYUM.

Count me in. Fuck constructed as far as I'm concerned, I only play limited. And core is just the dull period of the year, really.

As a drafter, I'm not against it because drafting environments become stale much faster than the new sets come out. Standard players will have to shell out once in 18 months instead of 24, though. Good for teh wizards, I suppose.

Nice.. I like the idea of doing away with core sets.

Breaking up the established set release schedule could allow for smaller midway sets to "patch" standard gameplay which might need a tweak here or there. It could be fun to see a 40 or 50 card "infusion" set unveiled midway between block releases to mix up gameplay.

Fetchlands are getting reprinted in Tarkir. Probably 5 in the first set, and the other 5 later.
Seems the mechanics are
Raid: When X ETB, if you attacked this turn do Y
Prowess: When you cast a noncreature spell, X gets +1/+1 until EoT
Outlast: Pay mana as sorcery, but a +1/+1 counter on this creature
Delve: Exile cards from graveyard to reduce cost of spells

And morph. So only the midrange clan mechanic is yet to be revealed. I would expect it to have something to do with Power 4+ creatures.

He saw me flip Monastery Loremaster to get back negate, yet he still tapped out for a Berserkers' Onslaught on his next turn despite needing a blocker to survive and having one in hand.

I need to get into the limited bandwagon again. I used to play Pauper pretty much exclusively, but got pissed off after losing for Esper Combo for the hundredth time or so. It was incredibly miopic of Wizards to ban Treasure Cruise but do fuck all about Snap/Cloud of Faeries/Ghostly Flicker taking the format by storm. The free mechanic has no place in a format with scarce access to hard counters and answers.
