Not to sound snarky, but what do you think the answer to that question is? :P

Would people be using Cockatrice and MWS if there was an MTGO-clone with enforced rules out there?

I wouldn't know. I haven't used any of them in probably 6+ years

cant believe how much some of these virtual cards cost
those cards online are like 3 bucks each, not that expensive really...

3 bucks for the addition of a 'true' to my virtual list of cards is expensive as fuck if you ask me.

oh, of course.
that's what you get for having a hobby though
just go fishing

I don't like hurting living creatures for personal enjoyment. What am I? A fucking conservatard?

In all seriousness though: As much as I like mtg, it's glaring fault is that out of the billions of cards printed, only a few are viable. Even (maybe especially) in a format like pauper, leading to these exaggerated card costs. Yes I can always choose a different hobby, but that doesn't change the fact that magic the gathering is extremely overpriced shit and that somebody needs to burn in the fiery depths of hell for it.

Out in the real world, m14 prerelease just happened, I guess that's still a month away for you mtgo'ers?

Went really well for me. Blue seems to be a very stronk color.

did you get the impression of an overpowered blue too?

Well, I did quite well in the prerelease playing blue/white and most decks I faced that had also done well were control decks of some kind, most commonly with blue as basis(the only dude I lost to played blue/black with 2 doomblades and several archeomancers and grave diggers). And opportunity is insanely huge. Think it's also because there are quite few aggressive creatures with low cmc.

So yeah, I guess I did get that impression.
