Who needs to craft a personal automaton army when with prowling master and whysper's gem you can "disable" all the ones in Vendigroth lower level by stealth touching them, and picking them up to serve you.

I play it through with Equilibrium Mod for the balancing
Isn't that the one that changes crafting recipes to use rings and gems and things like that? Is that still the case? It seemed like such a weird change (and frankly, took me out of the game) that I haven't looked into it for years.

cosmetic choice of crafting components could be better in the mod yes, but in general the logic behind them is that you get limited crafting mats for the most powerful guns and gadgets - so you can craft maybe 1 - 2 total per playthrough.

I am replaying this as my game ran into companion becomes wall bugs toward the end chapter and I ran out of free time playing it,

but I figured I'd try to solo the "hardest" boss in the game - Stringy Pete and did it even with harder difficulty/equilibrium installed to make enemies tougher.

So I just gave my insane lunatic human a nice weapon (Iron Clan Hammer), a good shield (Flow Disruptor) some machined plate. Got defense to over 130.
Tempus Fugit in the fight, used flash blind grenade and hallucinogen grenade on the 5-6x lvl50 skellies and some immunosupresants to speed up damage dealing. Then whacked them to death with the hammer.

With stuff like paralysis and dominate in og game it's probably even sillier, but those two effects are disabled in the mod.

what are good options for low tech aptitude gunslinger? Im aware that Ill be dealing abyssmal dmg to magical critters, which is almost everything, even undeads will be annoying.
How does it function exactly, is it my dmg that is lowered? Is it just physical? Can I go around it by using tesla rod or trans gun?

Background: trying to make tempus faggit gunslinger, my tech aptitude will be low until much later in the game. Would try even going half tech/magic gear early on, my understanding is that guns are fine as long as my aptitude is 0 or lower

Weapon damage stays the same regardless of aptitude. However, to get the most out of tech items, you need high tech aptitude. You also need high tech aptitude to hit creatures that are magickal or have high magick aptitude.

Tesla should ignore resists i think. I dont see much point in fugit. Instead of pumping willpower you can put these points into dex, theurapetics, get more out of items, more companions, etc. Can also use Haste potions early.

No.
Tesla deals electrical damage. Few creatures have resistance against it.

Spellcaster summoner - very early into the game you can get 2-3 guardian ogres who will tear apart anyone standing in your way. The only problem that can sometimes arise is that they don't get triggered by enemies instantly, so the attacker can still manage to kill you before your ogres are able to react and get to them.

clearly we are talking about aptitude resistance.

I dont see much point in fugit.
Im exploring true neutral playthrough. If I get it correctly, tesla would allow me to deal with magical creatures that otherwise guns will be very meh against. At the same time if Im at 0, all magical equipment will provide 50% benefits?

Anyway I want to be the fastest hand in the west

For easy comparison I downloaded 'Muros Arcanum Weapon Database'. Dont have a link but you can likely find it based on name. Its great, can easilly view strength requirements, dps and so on.

And yeah, tesla rod appears to be most underrated 'gun' to me. Only droch warbringer is more economical.
Damage per AP(5.5) its losing to elephant(7) and few others that eat through a lot of bullets.
BUT, it requires just 8str, while elephant 12. Other options eat through bullets in not acceptable to me rate.

Many years ago I played gunslinger having both electric and guns, cant remember why I didnt like rod that much

Aesthetics maybe. It just plays basic staff animation +lightning bolt. If it did to enemies what YK42 in F2 would be exciting.

Damn. Why no other game ever even came close to the coolness and deadliness of critical hits in the classic Fallouts?

No.
It slows ALL of the game world, while you and your allies have their speed increased.
It's one of the strongest spells in the game, up there with Disintegrate and Call Fire Elemental.

Master Melee
Master Backstab
Master Prowling
Dagger of speed
Haste + Tempus fugit
Warboots of Speed, +str and +dex spells.

You don't need haste or tempus shenannigans with those.
