You REALLY think Microsoft will buy Activision and stop all the big non mobile franchises (or release them mobile only) because they want in on the mobile trend?
Have you seen what happened to EA?

The latest Command & Conquer game is a mobile mtx hellscape that was contracted out to a Chinese developer who didn't understand the IP at all. For the cutscenes, they used Google translate to produce barely legible scripts for the Anglophone voice actors to read.

If that's what it takes. It's just worth it. Simple as.

How many ways and how many times do normies have to hear that Microsoft did not buy Activision for their CoD franchise or any franchise for that matter.

More than half of Activision profits come from mobile gaming. That one segment is larger than both PC and console together.

This is like Mac users pretending Apple gave a damn about the Mac in 2010 when iPhone sales were more than half of Apple's profits.

Microsoft will give away Call of Duty and/or any other franchise they need to buy Activision.
MS bought Activision both for their mobile division and to strangle Sony. COD is one of Playstation pillars and Sony invested a ton of money in publishing deals with Activision, now more than 2/3 of any penny spent on COD on playstation goes directly to MS pockets and they will never allow Sony to market their consoles alongside the new games ever again.

Sony is also a big player on mobile, or at least was last I checked, MS definitely wanted to buy a big player in that space. Remember that Sony bought Bungie as much for the 'talent' than their IPs. Ms did the same with King, they wanted the devs and the connections the studio had built over the years.

Sure that seems about right. Executives are craven and sad creatures. Predicting their instinctive moves is not very hard.

I'm sure all cod players would enjoy being ignored like that.
CoD mobile is actually bigger than either mainline CoD or Warzone on PC/consoles, believe it or not.
Probably mostly Arab whales spending a ridiculous amount of money on pay2win stuff as per the norm with mobile gaming.
Yeah, I think there was a mobile game designed specifically for Saudi Royal family.

One of them also whales in the Dota2 battlepass system as well.

Totally unreal lmao.

Xbox must have mobile presence if it's going to thrive, Phil Spencer says

https://www.eurogamer.net/xbox-must-have-mobile-presence-if-its-going-to-thrive-phil-spencer-says:

In an interview with Eurogamer today at Gamescom in Cologne, Spencer emphasised the importance of mobile for Xbox to continue to grow its audience - and said it was the core reason behind Microsoft's interest in buying Activision Blizzard (including its mobile arm King) for $68.7bn.
Just as I said

Some of it is accurate, interesting what the nu Doom will be, got nothing against the remasters so time will tell how they will fare.

I guess Dishonored 3 was ordered by MS since Beth gave up the franchise and made them make Deathloop instead. Doom Zero Year is either a remake of Doom 93 or some kind of prequel.

They`ve been rumored in the past few months, wonder if this was the source?

If real: Based on the delay in this time line... we would be getting them in 2026~

They will also release a new digital-only Xbox Series. Physical media is dying. Microsoft will be the first to pull the plug, other companies will follow accordingly.

How common is the usage of the buttons on the underside of the controller with Xbox games, or are they just a gimmick?

Physical media is dead already by all practical means. Your disc alone can't run the game in most cases without connecting to the internet and having to download several patches.

Some interesting leaks here about bringing titles to Gamepass and how much they estimate external partners would ask for: https://imgur.com/a/pHi74Dq

Apparently they thought Larian would only ask for $5million for Baldur's Gate 3. I suspect they might have to revise that up a bit for BG4!
