You were no longer immortal while shootdodging
Bullshit. Bullets were still hitting you in slo-mo just as well as ever. Try jumping in front of a shotgun and see Max almost insta-die in slo-mo
That's the case in MP2. In the first MP you couldn't die while doing this. Drop a grenade right at your feet and do a shootdodge jump right when it goes off. You take maximum damage but stay alive. Works with shotguns as well. You can jump down from balconies and other high places this way without dying and get to areas you shouldn't be able to get to.

MP2 was slower when it comes to action, enemies were less dangerous and weren't overflowing you with bullets like in MP1 plus they included the play-as-Mona part where you just pick off enemies with a sniper rifle from a static position which is extremely popular in console shooters for obvious reasons
The enemies were more dangerous in MP only because of the supernatural reaction times and HP bloat. Otherwise they were dumb as hell and you could easily exploit their scripted behavior. MP2 massively improved the AI and made the enemies behave in less predictable ways, even though it was still nothing special. MP was mostly about clearing small rooms of 2-4 enemies (with a few notable exceptions), but MP2 had some more complex fights that included stuff like sharpshooters taking shots and throwing grenades at you from balconies while the usual bunch of goons with shotguns and machine pistols tried to turn you into Swiss cheese. Of course, both games were still piss-easy, but that was never really a problem.

MP2 added lots of stuff that simply made killing people much more enjoyable. Ragdolls, physics, lethal headshots, improved shootdodge (you could keep shooting even when lying on the ground) and a bunch of other minor improvements really made the overall feel of the game better. I played the shit out of the first MP and finished it about twenty times, but when MP2 came out, I never looked back.

The thing about both Max Payne's is I got bored half way through with both of them. The second one had novelty because from my perspective it was like Counter-Strike: Source. Max Payne, but with physics and nice graphics!

In the first one the story was hilarious but not exactly interesting. In the second one... I liked it until it turned out who the villain was.

The gameplay themselves is kinda boring but I severely enjoyed the mods for Max Payne, like the kung fu one.

Can't say I want to play Max Payne again.

Ehehehe. I'm starting to bald too and I just turned 22. Though I hear I'm doing better then my dad who started balding in 8th grade.

The first two Max Payne's were great, albeit fairly short and primarily single-player experiences. They pioneered the use of bullet time although sadly I think it reached it's zenith with the original FEAR game as nothing released since then has really added much to the concept.

Can't say I care for pudgy. bald Max much but will no doubt be picking the game up in any case.

Max Payne 3 is the title for this game that is something other than a Max Payne game.

LOL, typical skyway. Try playing the game on the hardest settings and then tell me if the enemies don't "overflow you with bullets". I don't see how the game is any slower in relation to MP1 or how a short section can turn an entire game into dumbed down console popamole. MP2 is basically MP1 made better, only the one and only skyway to say the prequel was better.

MP2 also didn't have any regen health iirc. While MP1 had the last 1/4 of your health always regen.

Max Payne 3’s Collector’s Edition Runs $100, Includes Twin-Gun Wielding, Suit Wearing Payne
May Payne 3's Collector's Edition is so limited that you're going to have less than two months to pre-order it.

Rockstar today rolled out the details of a $99.99/£99.99/€109.99 collector's edition of Max Payne 3. It comes with a copy of the game, a set of prints, a bullet keychain, classic multiplayer character pack of eight playable characters, a multiplayer weapons pack and the soundtrack. Oh, and you get a 10-inch statue of a Max Payne boldly pacing forward, a gun in each hand, grey suit shimmering, top button of his crisp white shirt unbuttoned. He's a rebel, that one.
It's settled: I'll be getting the Pirate Bay Edition. These cock-sucking publishers aren't getting one cent from me as long as they perpetuate this nonsense.

You can download the picture if it. Practically they are as useful as the real statue: not at all.

Lots of people pay that much and more for standard edition in australia. There are non-retail ways of buying cheaper, but when all of the publishers apply these ridiculous mark ups to the steam store, well I don't feel like ever buying anything from them again so I go off to TPB.

I'm psyched. Looks like the game Remedy should have made, but better.

These incredible animations, that are more actual work than Bethshit or Bioshit have done in a decade?

And Max's original voice actor? And the awesome MP2 soundtrack?

Please God, let it come to PC.

Can we tax the words "cinematic", "epic" and "immersive" in marketing for games? Every time I hear them I think I die a little bit inside.

Also, the game has been delayed to May.

There's a page on Steam, so it's coming. Problem is how will it come to the PC. Rockstar has... issues when it comes to their ports.

The fact that the new bald and bearded Max looks so much like Dustin Browder destroys the whole experience for me.
