Arlin is too closet-Theseus to actually be useful.
Indeed, the updates from way back seem to confirm this:
Arlin, on the other hand, was a surprise. He had not killed a single foe, and certainly did not try to. Yet, you have this feeling that you could have not watched after him at all and he might still have come out of it unscathed. He moved around his enemies naturally, exposing weak points that would have condemned one or two of them to instant death at the point of his dagger, but yet he refused to strike. You are certain that he has a lot more talent than his sister in this aspect: his smooth footwork reminds you of the swordsmaster Layla, whose beautiful legs never failed to dazzle in combat. In fact, he probably has more talent for fighting skillfully than you do.
As we can see, the little shit already has a natural aptitude for stabbing people where they're vulnerable. It's only a matter of time until he starts following through once he accepts the mantle of the Theseus, as Naim and Theseus himself had done before him.
Jokes aside, Arlin wasn't exactly my first choice to pick as our plus one for the event, but I guess the silver lining here is that we might be able to get him more on our side. I was busy so I wasn't around for the vote, but you cunts should have picked Lucy.
I am not sure about talking to the criminally-connected Count Norvegis. We opted for magic, which, while useful, means that we don't have the clout, title and connections that would likely be more useful in putting together a criminal Empire. Before I scoffed at the idea of a lowly knightly title, but that kinda shit can really help if you want to go Michael Corleone. Being an inside man would have really been helpful here.
Guys, I really think that we should give C the proper consideration:
Fifth Prince Farstalt Yuiry (23). Is interested primarily in art and cares little for matters of the court. Child of Fowyl & Natasha.
Prince Farland, the youngest son, seems rather ambitious, but Farstalt seems content to simply drink and fuck his entire life away. While Erdrick is also a big fan of both of those things, he also realizes that a person like that, along with the titles that they possess, is a great person to manipulate and a good contact to start cultivating. The Queen and the Crown Prince are surrounded by people and are unlikely to give a fuck about some stranger and option D seems to imply that the three men are having a private conversation. My point is, those targets are tough and inaccessible, whereas you'll have an "in" with Farstalt if you are the sort who is fun to party with.
As for the Archmage, he definitely interests me, but given that this is a Methussian banquet, I'd prefer to rub elbows with the nobles and I have a strong feeling that our demonic weapons will make a second meeting inevitable.
Failing that, I'm willing to either roll the dice and see what happens in H, or attempt to make contacts for a criminal enterprise. Hopefully we can start learning how to create whatever this world's equivalent of meth is from the library and become a fantasy Walter White.
