I just want to remind you about this competition with guessing number of huge health bottles - would be nice to do some update with this, readers are courious about that!
Killing hive mothers with vorpal hits. It is hard to be more D&D than this.
Update #105: Dark Side of Drow, part V - 8/10, Would Fight Again
These things must realize by now that they are only send to stall me.
Well, that came out of nowhere.
Death Count: 388
Load.
I admit, that stalling tactic is pretty good.
Finally, an opportunity to use this.
You guys can go fuck yourselves now.
Trying to eat my brain? WANT SOME FUCKING CHIANTI WITH THAT, NOODLEFACE!?
And your little dog too!
Holy shit, low level valuables.
Isn't mercury usually liquid anyway?
There should be a 'warning: do not drink' label on this.
Like anyone would be stupid enough-
Man, I remember how you could put iron poison in your quick slot in BG1, drink it, and die. Good times. Games just do not do this kind of shit any more...
Wait, you were saying?
Forget it.
I have walked through many doors in my life that one of them should have transported me to Sigil. Statistically speaking.
Keep an eye out for something like this:
I want to see a portal looking like this in Tides of Numenera, inXile. Do not disappoint me.
Lol, nope, immune here.
Hey, one of them is the main mind flayer servant guy. Too bad all of them look the same to me.
In before racist Codex.
Oh, this was the one.
I guess I'm done here.
Hard to feel threatened when you don't even notice killing the area boss.
So, let's clean up.
And level up.
Finally, we are getting that second point in halberds. If this happens again, we'll be bumping up longswords.
We might need a few of those soon.
This is new. Right? Is this new?
...Possibly?
Well, it... had a lot of HP. Relatively.
That was a nice warm-up. Time to move to the main event.
Well... Yaga-Shura never got artwork like this.
Good.
I was afraid you'd say something like this...
By the way, I would totally ally myself with you, just for the hot drow sex lulz. But I literally did not get an opportunity for that.
Cutscene power to the max!
That's scarily colorful.
Her guard captain's equipment is still on the ground, after she killed him. Makes sense that nobody wanted to get near and risk bringing a crazy woman's wrath upon themselves.
Aaaaand she's gone. Except she isn't?
So, my best guess is she cloned herself and I will need to kill her multiple times.
Yes, there are six fake-Sendai statues, but only one will be active at a time. When you kill the last one, real Sendai should appear.
Gotcha.
Ok, that's one.
Ooh, next-boss-stage minions!
I like the 'too late' explosion of scripted magic effects.
Well, it actually took longer to kill them than her. Slightly.
Hi, number two. Meet your doom.
That means me. I am your doom. Just in case it wasn't clear.
We do want to dispel that fire shield. Save your HP for later.
Fine, fine.
Nah-ah. No casting, you naughty girl.
So, that's two.
This version doesn't look like a mage. Going by stereotypical clothes, I'm going to guess a rogue.
Yup, she certainly isn't a mage.
These goons, which I had no opportunity to kill yet, do not help.
Whew, that was close.
Oh, shit.
If Sendai's regular soldiers are level 20+, how does she not rule the world yet?
Good question.
Death Count: 389
Loading.
This girl is not as easy as I expected her to be.
Good thing we saved after defeating No.2. At the risk of game scripts fucking themselves up.
Ok, we've been through this.
Wait, let us play this smarter. Lure her to the back of the room, so you do not have to fight her soldiers at the same time.
Good idea.
A rogue! I fucking new it! Stereotypes never lie!
I know this is only our third date, but you should have asked what I am wearing.
Oh, fuck you!
Nothing like a vorpal hit to resolve a conflict.
I am going to take a wild guess that this incarnation is a fighter.
Yup, definitely a fighter.
Crap, I forgot I am wearing plate.
Remember kids, do not cast spells in plate armour. IT WILL NOT WORK.
Death Count: 390
Load game.
That's fine. That's fine. I would be disappointed if this was too easy.
I'll deal with those creeps first, to gather my thoughts.
Not only has he gone invisible, but he is casting sunfire at me. Fucking sunfire! It should melt all his equipment to dust!
Dispelled? Apparently not dispelled enough.
Fucking suicide bombers!
NOW you're visible.
These fuckers are really giving me significantly more trouble than they should.
One to go.
You are fucked now.
Hard.
Levelling up in the middle of a boss fight.
I bet we could rest too.
I would not rule that away, but let's not strain the engine more than we have to.
Looks like we will have enough greater whirlwinds to get through this.
Drow with katanas. Classy.
I guess this would be too much to ask.
Just to make sure this attempt does not end like the previous one.
Yeah, this is what I'm talking about! Dance for me, baby!
Gah, this is almost disappointing!
Or maybe not. Four down, by the way.
Not that improved mantle would have helped you much, but I still prefer you without it, my dear.
Heh, heh...
You can't hide from me!
Mislead is probably one of the spells, which took the biggest usability hit with translation from pen and paper to a computer game. It is still ok, but since the game log flat out says what happened, all the surprise/deception factor is gone.
Mages ended on KILL 'EM ALL.
Oh yeah, goons.
Let us not rush head-first into them, be smart about it.
'k
Now, let's rush in head-first.
Or rather blade-first.
Mwahahahahaha, slaughter!
And this version is...?
Annoying teleporting shithead, gotcha.
I guess being an archer is not optimal when you don't have a bunch of meatshields to hide behind.
Five of Sendai's incarnations have now been defeated.
