We head out of town and back to the north, eventually hitting that fork in the road. And heading north/north-west from there.
Shortly after the fork we find a small path leading off to the side, we follow it and find another Mine!
But it's closed. No more dwarves for us.
Our rations situation is still critical so we travel during earlier and later hours. During one such morning we see the temple and right before we approach some enemies pop up. The fact that they popped up so late makes me wonder if the enemies have stealth values too and get compared against our scouting to decide when they show up on the screen.
Somehow I overwrote the screen where we missed the stealth check. It spoke about this bunch being an angry mob.
Gorath is hit for 14. Archer misses him. Other guy misses Locky.
Owyn blinds archer.
Locky swings and hits for 27.
Gorath swings and hits for 36.
Enemy misses Locky.
Thinking enemy might be almost dead, Owyn attacks Gorath's opponent. Its a hit for 4, but the enemy is still up.
Locky thrusts and hits his enemy for 20.
Not wanting to get shot by a potentially poisoned arrow - Gorath goes for the archer. Its a miss.
His previous opponent goes for Owyn but misses.
Owyn swings at his attacker but misses.
Locky hits his opponent again. 21 and one less enemy to worry about.
Gorath swings at the archer. 37 damage.
Owyn is hit by his opponent for 8
Not wanting to spend more stamina on a swing - Owyn thrusts - 4 damage hit.
Locky finishes that guy with a hit for 22.
Gorath finishes the archer with a thrust for 29.
There were a few skill ups.
And the loot. One of the guy had rations!
And they were good
Here is the location of the temple on the map:
We go in, it is the right temple! Since this is our second temple, lets see how teleportation works.
Hmmm, its kind of expensive. But once we discover temples on the other side of the map it might be pretty useful to be able to jump across.
So lets talk to the leadership of the temple. North of Eggley? Maybe that empty farm and barn?
Hmmm, I kinda expected her to acknowledge what has happened in Eggley. Oh well, we'll see if we can find this Franklin on the way down south when we're done with Isaac.
When we continue on we find another side road.
It sure is convenient when these kinds of side roads lead to chests.
It's a word-lock. The possible letters are:
TERIES
RHARRE
STESTT
ALLOND
We'll open the chest on the way back down since I want to give you guys a chance to solve it without slowing down this bit of the game.
Eventually we hit the zone divider. This reminds me of Everquest.
Yes we need to go north. We have a date with an old friend.
Fortunately our supply of rations is untouched.
Immediately on the other side we're greeted by enemies.
Stealth fails once again.
Only 1 enemy moves forward, does not reach us.
Owyn assess the enemy furthest away from us. This guy does not impress.
Locky tries out his new crossbow and poisoned arrows.
He misses however. You can see the projectile miss to the right.
Gorath strikes the approaching enemy for 28.
The other enemies seem slow so Owyn assess a second guy. This guy seems a bit dangerous once he gets in range, reminds me of Locklear's stats in the very beginning. Except this guy's speed must be 2.
Locky tries another shot. It's a miss once again.
Gorath's swing is parried, enemy thrusts back - but misses.
Owyn blinds the approaching enemy.
Locky hits the other approaching enemy with his sword. 19 damage.
Gorath's thrust misses. Enemy swings back - also misses.
Owyn retreats. Locky swings and hits - only 26 damage?
Gorath tries another swing. It's a hit! 38 damage and the enemy dies.
Owyn re-blinds the guy on the left.
Locky thrusts - its a hit for 21 and the enemy dies.
Gorath can't get in range with the last guy. Owyn rests. Locky approaches and hits for 18.
Gorath follows with a hit for 26.
Owyn rests.
Locky finishes the last enemy with a hit for 21.
Turned out Locky was hitting for less because I let his sword's quality get a bit low. The rations held by these guys were good as well
The vial is that Defense skill booster we saw before.
There's a side road to the left that leads to a shop. Yay, maybe we can sell stuff as our bags are full.
What the... Did we stumble into some mass murderer's den?
Good question.
Something the matter with making graveyards bigger instead?
Yes, Owyn's idea is definitely better.
Hmmm... Well we already have a shovel.
There's also a side path in the other direction that leads to this house.
It's nice that Gorath is so observant.
This revelation increased Scouting for the party!
Only Locky and Gorath got skill ups.
We continue on and eventually spy the infamous Isaac. Now lets see if the game ties its own shoelaces.
Why yes it does.
It was a bit foolish of him to tell us about Devon. Perhaps he did not realize we were in a conflict with moredhel.
Don't make uncle Locky slap a bitch...
Oh no you didn't!!!
Locky is about to pull out the waterboarding equipment.
It is unfortunately unclear as to where Yellow Mule is. But there's that Nago again!
Hmmm, high risk game these moredhel are playing. When the hire locals - those locals might end up talking. Like Isaac here.
There's always something these weasels tell themselves that makes it all ok in their book.
OK, lets talk Chests. I like them perky for instance.
Locky likes them moredhel instead.
Hmmm, guess that explains why you're sitting in one place.
We kinda already did, but Isaac doesn't know that.
The seem to know where we are without your help buddy.
Yeah, except they hired a cautious one in Isaac and now the spy is singing.
Their assassins and spies seem quite well organized.
That's quite the threat. The Prince would likely hang Isaac - treason to the kingdom.
I remember some - but looks like we've missed quite a few. Perhaps its due to us not ever going on the northern loop - perhaps not. Maybe later we'll have a spell that helps us locate items.
That's quite the elaborate hint. Fortunately Codex is here to solve all the puzzles instead of having to rely on something like this.
Ok, lets get more info on Nago.
Yes, Nago sounds like quite the fellow.
That does sound like Trouble. Biggest amount of enemies we've faced at once was 4.
The owner of the barn maybe?
Killing the man seems more their style. But perhaps that would raise some alarms among the neighbors.
Ok, how did your spying gig end?
That ruby again. No coincidences in this world.
That would be a neat way to tie some loose ends.
Ok, we let Issac go. I make an executive decision to go up to Loriel to empty our bags at their store. The time spent doing that increases everyone's health.
So besides the chest I also need you guys to tell me if you want me to check out that house that seemed to have an ambush AND whether to head South on the eastern branch or go back on the western one.
