Nope. Their TC is totally overloaded, they are drained of manpower, and roughly with 1 manpower growth/day while the UDMS-KKK has nearly 4 MP/day growth. In other words, an attrition war would work this time, if it takes that to liberate Europe, but won't be the primary strategy, only a last resort, like what happened in San Jose because of the lack of other alternatives.

Anyway am I not bro enough like Furious Flaming Faggot to get more comments or is HoI2 not as cool as EUIII and I missed the memo?

Page 14.

Hmm, you then might want to leave most of Africa to rot on the vine then. With an overloaded TC, it will take forever for the Aliens to move forces around the board. And unless Im mistaken. You sunk CVN seventy fucking four. That is a huge navy. An attrition war is ugly, but you are going to win just because the computer overbuilt. Any tech gains will just make the war easier on you. (Unless they figure out how to do amphibious operations.)

New reinforcements arrive. the Finns are probably going through hard times adapting to radically different weathers from those they were used to, but they are great men, and among those who headed for Africa, a still alive legend was included: Simo Hayha would most likely participate actively of the great battles to come in the liberation of Africa, Europe and Asia.
:salute:

Aarne Edward Juutilainen, nicknamed "The Terror of Morocco" (October 18, 1904 in Sortavala—October 28, 1976 in Helsinki), was a Finnish army captain, who served from 1930 until 1935 in the French Foreign Legion, participating in the Moroccan colonial war. After returning to Finland, he served in the Finnish army and became a national hero in the Battle of Kollaa. He was wounded three times during the war.

His brother was Fighter Ace Ilmari Juutilainen.

Man, you do a great job of digging up suitable posters and art, Cassidy. Should probably save them for future use in a HoI3-LP when I'm paralyzed or something :D

Fixed. Also google image search.

Africa is strategically irrelevant. It's time to set foot in Europe!

But the enemies there will be a nuisance and tie more men to hold Suez that could be fighting in Europe. So far it seems the AI thinks that and is deliberatedly not putting much effort in defending it. Besides it might make for a more interesting war to attempt freeing a whole shitty continent instead of using it only as a springboard.

You sunk CVN seventy fucking four. That is a huge navy.

The aliens built more capital ships than escorts and even have fleets made purely of aircraft carriers. Their numbers matter little when their AI is usually so inept at naval warfare... but sometimes they decide to go in full rape mode like what happened in the English Channel. In any case I think that in the flawed HoI2 naval combat more modern submarines will stand a better chance against them than surface ships because of its lack of enough screening vessels.

Keep it up so we can reach this gem of awesome:

I'm still undecided on which 4x to use once that happens though. I'm for now going for Space Empires IV because of the customization capabilities. I've also considered Galactic Civilizations 2 because I heard it would also allow for a custom "Space Poland" but I dunno which would deliver better LP potential and lulz.

The struggle for West Africa and Morocco.

lphoi2afrikakkkorps027.jpg

Morocco and Suez were the primary Strategic objectives of this operation. With them secured, two new fronts could be opened for the liberation of Eurasia. For now the plan still was to forsake Africa as soon as control over the Suez was established, Gibraltar secured and the Mediterranean open. Air bases in Morocco would be used by the Air Marines to land over Spain.

lphoi2afrikakkkorps028.jpg

More high risk intelligence operations by the Death Watch bring valuable results in the efforts for the modernization of the UDMS-KKK fleet. An alien magazine for naval enthusiasts is deciphered. If the things assumed to be civilian-grade publications were bringing such results already and side-stepping many months of research, imagine what could be discovered should the UDMS-KKK ever succeed at seizing an entire alien base intact?

lphoi2afrikakkkorps029.jpg

A large carrier fleet attacks the ships docked at Cape Verde. All fighters and bombers scramble to answer and strike back against legions of carrier air groups. A franctic air battle begins, while in England,

lphoi2afrikakkkorps030.jpg

All bombers in England are ordered to cape verde. They must strike back, conduct relentless naval bombing operations and slowly cause serious damages against the enemy. Land based aircrafts had many advantages over those that had to be build under the limitations of aircraft carriers.

lphoi2afrikakkkorps031.jpg

ufo.jpg

The enemies are relentless. But with courage and determination, the flyboys do their best and halt the wave of attackers. No second is wasted as preparations are made for the hunt.

lphoi2afrikakkkorps032.jpg

shortsperrinvx158.jpg

The first victims were two isolated destroyers conducting ASW operations. Through time, however, it would become clear that the enemy could somehow know this, and retreated their carriers from the region as soon as the naval patrols began.

lphoi2afrikakkkorps033.jpg

It was more or less when a decision was finally made: the plans have changed. 24 divisions were as many as could reasonably attack from any region, and there were more than enough men to both seek the primary objectives of this campaign, and also begin the liberation of Africa. The risk would increase, but if successful, this would mean far greater flexibility in future strategic operations in the Middle East and a safer front line to defend and hold.

lphoi2afrikakkkorps034.jpg

A large amount of the enemy forces seem to be concentrated on North Africa. soldiers stand with anti-tank guns to defend Ifni and El Aiun while others cross the desert of Sahara.

lphoi2afrikakkkorps035.jpg

Half of the AfrikaKKKorps thus began to advance for encircling and exterminating the enemy forces, while the other half headed for North Africa. Each of these forces had almost a million of soldiers with the arrival of recent reinforcements. It could be said that the near entirety of the UDMS-KKK forces was concentrated in this endeavor and in the upcoming D-Day.

lphoi2afrikakkkorps036.jpg

tanksinjungle.jpg

Tanks arrive at Freetown, cutting the enemies off supplies.

lphoi2afrikakkkorps037.jpg

lphoi2afrikakkkorps038.jpg

The few enemy forces at Conarky are dispatched after a short-lasting battle. The enemy will now be split in two pockets ready for the slaughter. Not even an ubersturmfuhrer could stop it. The enemy decided to forsake Africa, to make of it its soft underbelly, and now they shall pay the price and learn it would have been wiser to leave no defenses at all.

lphoi2afrikakkkorps039.jpg

lphoi2afrikakkkorps040.jpg

Two pockets formed, one soon to be formed and a handful of enemy forces at Labe annihilated. The offensive through West Africa so far has been unstoppable like the might of a steamroller. However, in the jungles of Bissao lied the infamous POPAMOLES, the forces in power armor that could stand through many battles.

lphoi2afrikakkkorps041.jpg

catachanheavyweapons.jpg

But the UDMS-KKK army knew no fear. Despite not having a massive numerical advantage, they launched an attack, with aerial support and its heavy barrages of thermobaric bombs from turbojet tactical bombers, they hoped the enemy forces would be crushed along the deadly jungles.

lphoi2afrikakkkorps042.jpg

lphoi2afrikakkkorps043.jpg

lphoi2afrikakkkorps044.jpg

HELGHAST.jpg

An entire enemy division is wiped out during the battle, but the POPAMOLES continue undaunted. The battle takes a turn for the worse. It becomes clear they cannot be easily defeated. Meanwhile, time is not a luxury to have while going straight against such enemy. Thus it is chosen to await and hope a new offensive and submarine operations to blockade Bissao will break the will of the enemy forces there and make their extermination possible, for no prisoners will be taken.

lphoi2afrikakkkorps045.jpg

Speaking about submarine operations, it doesn't take long for two successful convoy raids to occur nearly simultaneously. The successful application of submarine warfare has seriously mauled the massive enemy merchant fleet, but only total blockade would be truly useful in a greater sense. For now submarines were useful to hunt lone carriers, nevertheless.

lphoi2afrikakkkorps046.jpg

bcm.jpg

The Death Watch finds at last an alien base with a working thing they assumed to be a computing machine... but different. It was a disgusting machine made of living human cells, and it had eyes... and they stared at the team. A legion of mutated chimeras soon began to charge against them, and they retreated, taking only what would later be understood as the technical manual of that bizarre and twisted machine. Within this manual lied the secrets to start a new era. However, the greater focus on war efforts would make computing machines a low priority, for the bonuses to research each of them would provide were deemed not good enough to be worth.

lphoi2afrikakkkorps047.jpg

And thus February, 1946 was over. Several forces were right now being strategically redeployed deeper through the Sahara to use it to occupy several undefended provinces in Morocco, including the six divisions with baneblade brigades that would defend that desert. Progress has been slow due to the horrible conditions of transport in Africa. But there was something terrifying around, a fact that truly justified no mercy, that justified the total extermination of these enemies:

Nobody survived ITZ

Perhaps you should concentrate more on North Africa. Its infrastructure allows faster troop movement, and once you reach Suez, you could concentrate on more important objectives, leaving only a few dozen divisions to mop up the remaining popamoles in the equatorial forests.

Any divisions past 24 in a province will be wasteful unless it's a bottleneck mega-stack you can't hopefully starve out of supplies, and with a growing production line of armors with super-heavy tank brigades I'm seeking to be able to hold ground with exactly that many divs per province. Besides going by the book sometimes is not the best approach to make a good LP.

Now it came to a point where "Normal" speed is faster than Very Fast. Which means that the game will from now on progress at an even slower snail's pace. Good thing the action is already going on. Bad thing Africa horrible infrastructure means it'll still be slow nevertheless until the European Theater is opened.

Race for North Africa: Battle for the Atlas Mountains

Dawn of War song

lphoi2morocco001.jpg

fall_out_002.jpg

lphoi2morocco002.jpg

The power armor enemies are surrounded. The battle for Bamako proves to be a short one, in part thanks to the fact the enemies, despite their technological advantage, were severely outnumbered, and in part thanks to the brilliance of Field Marshall Mannerheim and his Finnish soldiers, who, coupled with Air Marines, became a powerful force, as expected from an army that managed to hold Tripods in the far north of Scandinavia, against all odds, years ago. Meanwhile, foolishly the enemy continues to send unescorted strategic bombers to Britain.

lphoi2morocco003.jpg

The Finns may give the ultimate push to crush the enemy forces pocketed at the jungles of Bissao. In their courage in determination, they have proven to be as capable fighters in these harsh and hot environments as they were in the frozen winters of their homelands. Meanwhile, the U-boats continue to thin the alien cargo transports.

lphoi2morocco004.jpg

GB-Stuart1-Desert1.jpg

March 8th. The strategic redeployment of nearly a million of soldiers is completed through the wastes of Sahara. The plan procceeds to push through Morocco and cut off that visibly large amount of enemy forces holding Northwest Africa in a large pocket, possibly luring them to Casablanca or Mogador where the terrain would be far more favorable for the Baneblades to be tested and used against these forces.

lphoi2morocco005.jpg

xxiv_corps_turns_south.jpg

A second attempt of breaking through Bissao begins. Hopefully the enemy could fall through sufficient force before the Finns could arrive. Being foreign forces, the Finns unfortunately can't be strategically redeployed, which means they're ultimately fated to lag compared to all other forces in the liberation for Africa and eventual advance into Europe and the Middle East unless the front lines become horribly bogged down.

lphoi2morocco006.jpg

uboat.jpg

And then, the worst came, when nobody expected. It was a perfect trap. The alien destroyers, incredibly modern and fast, with anti-submarine warfare equipment against which the not so advanced submarines of the UDMS-KKK couldn't hide. They couldn't outrun them either, and thus they made a desperate last stand.

lphoi2morocco007.jpg

lphoi2morocco008.jpg

DD-245_ReubenJames-torpedo.gif

The last survivor of the entire submarine flotilla managed to sink one of the destroyers and escape the pursuit of the other at one desperate last chance to survive. Let this dark time not overshadow the greater victories of the U-boat crews of the UDMS-KKK through more than five years of total war.

:salute:

The disaster however and the damage were done. Never again small flotillas of submarines would be deployed.

lphoi2morocco009.jpg

okinawa-flamethower-tank.jpg

Despite being refitted for the environmental conditions pertinent to Africa, it became clear that even when outnumbered, enemy infantry forces could be extremely difficult to flush out from jungles using exclusively tanks, for deploying other forces currently advancing would slow down the liberation efforts, and time was not a luxury the UDMS-KKK did have for this operation. Thus, air support had to be called, with tanks being used simply to forward coordinates for the fuel-air bombs to do their job.

lphoi2morocco010.jpg

winter-war-2.jpg

But while the Battle of Monrovia procceeded, the Third assault on Bissao has begun, supported by the brave patriots of Finland and led by Mannerheim himself against General Liberal, another of the inane alien leaders like Sheek and Cloaked Figure.

lphoi2morocco011.jpg

2dgt8c2.jpg

The enemies would witness the fact power armors are no match against legendary snipers and the Sisu of the Finnish soldiers. Victory seemed to be coming, this time, coupled with heavy air support.

lphoi2morocco012.jpg

300px-Simo_hayha_honorary_rifle.png

Every enemy division fitted with power armors ending destroyed is an irreplaceable loss for the enemy, as will be all tripod divisions that shall perish after much determination, sacrifice and courage.

lphoi2morocco013.jpg

_44111852_russian_bomb_inf416.gif

Eventually, despite their terrain advantages in the landscape of Monrovia, the infantry forces of the enemy began to be shoved aside by tanks with heavy air support, in parts also thanks to the versatile armored car brigades attached to them.

lphoi2morocco014.jpg

And thus Monrovia was secured. However, where West Africa had the situation strongly in favor of the UDMS-KKK, a far larger concentration of enemy forces lied in North Africa.

Another Dawn of War music

Battle for Atlas Mountains

lphoi2morocco015.jpg

The enemy foolishly sends a lone infantry division to attempt holding the Atlas Mountains. It is brushed aside quickly. But more forces could still come.

lphoi2morocco016.jpg

impguardlemanruss.jpg

A through modernization of the medium tanks of the UDMS-KKK to the new class of Main Battle Tanks was about to begin. The Leman Russ would prove to be far more powerful and effective than the crappy clones of the T-34 project that were developed in a hurry as a stopgap due to the strategic demands of fighting against such an enemy. With Leman Russ and Blaneblades, the Foedus of Man finally might stand a chance in a direct battle against Tripods. Meanwhile, in face of the disastrous loss of the Reserve Fleet, the modernization of the Submarine fleets, which shall take much less time to be concluded than the development of entire surface naval technology from scratch, begins with the creation of the first "true" submarine, as a vessel designed to operate most of the time underwater rather than simply a boat capable of diving for relatively brief periods.

lphoi2morocco017.jpg

lphoi2morocco018.jpg

3285849734_35c7181cd7_z.jpg

Due to a communications mistake, a HQ arrives way too early to Bouaria, only to discover what exactly was coming to attempt halting the advance through North Africa: Tripods and POPAMOLE, a both hated and feared combination. Fortunately, this mistake has proven crucial to trigger the immediate launch of infrastructure destruction missions by nearby tactical bombers to delay the enemy advance.

lphoi2morocco019.jpg

A new batch of medium tanks and baneblades is readied, but due to the concerns about the upcoming D-Day, they are shipped to Scapa Flow(safer transport route than straight through the channel), to support such major operation. Things seemed to be doing fine. The logistical strikes may be just enough to delay the enemy before

lphoi2morocco020.jpg

war_of_the_Worlds_standoff_by_davpea1.jpg

Tripods have arrived at Atlas Mountains. The greatest fear of the UDMS-KKK expeditionary forces: having to fight tripods in mountains, has been fulfilled. This would be the baptism of fire of the new Baneblades, their great stand, the first time the Super-Heavy tanks would be put in battle against an outnumbered but far more powerful enemy war machine.

926497_20050513_screen007.jpg

lphoi2morocco021.jpg

Against all odds, the Baneblades have proved themselves to be equalizers in this brutal battle. Their massive guns had just the necessary firepower to cause severe damage against the once unstopabble Tripods. But even then it was a tough battle, yet, they have wiped out more than 50% of the tripods thanks to years of through research and refinement of tactics since the dreaded 1941, year of ITZ.

lphoi2morocco022.jpg

Baneblade_by_NavalAce.jpg

And thus, victory at last! This was the first time since the beginning of the conflict that the first offensive against defending tripods has been, against all odds, successful. The Baneblades have proven their worth, and truly justified their exhorbitant cost, maintenance and logistical requirements. Many wondered about replacing all current brigades used by the UDMS-KKK with Baneblades, but the idea was inviable and the benefits of it were ideal when they worked together with Main Battle Tanks rather than any other kind of division.

The significance of this victory was in no means small: it was a good sign of hope, a sign that total victory over Earth, no matter how bloody it shall be, no matter how distant it currently was, was not impossible, and that perhaps, one day, the Flag of Poland shall once again wave over Warsaw!

Warsaw_Uprising_-_Polish_Flag_%281944%29.jpg

No matter the cost!

lphoi2morocco023.jpg

War_of_the_Worlds___pastel_by_junoluver.jpg

However, when the joy of such impressive first and relatively rapid victory against the once unstoppable war machines was over, it became clear that, the farther North they advanced, the more the quality of the enemy forces they'd fight would increase, as now, a far smaller number of soldiers would have to face, without any possible support of baneblades and only one armored division, another Tripod possibly seeking to meet the forces being slowly pocketed in northwest Africa.

lphoi2morocco024.jpg

ultramarinsrq51.jpg

Under the banners of the European and Kwanzanian white eagles, the Ultramarines made their brave offensive against the powerful tripods with heavy support attacks from the few that would stay in the Sahara to hold it while most others advanced. Artillery shells flying were so aplenty that this time, they were definitively going to fight in the shade, and against all odds, their utmost bravery and ubermensch spirit, in spite of them having both but no power armors(as if they could stand against the weapons of a Tripod), would begin to push the enemy away until they reached a point where victory was assured.

lphoi2morocco025.jpg

:salute:

There was much celebration. Two consecutive victories against Tripods. This was the first time in the history of the War of the Worlds that such a thing ever happened. Thanks to the bravery of the Ultramarines, the most powerful enemy forces were driven back. This was much different from back when this same number of divisions wouldn't do a scratch against Tripods in Bulgaria, even attacking from multiple directions. To think that these once were the harbingers of doom and of a seemingly inevitable defeat, to think how close to ITZ humanity once has been, only made these two victories even more legendary. The advance on North Africa seemed secure, and apparently, they would be able to accomplish their objectives without having to forsake a push south and eastwards through the dead continent, even though several strategic redeployments happened to increase the focus of the push through North. Those soldiers were clearly the first alive human beings to step in Africa for a long time, yet many would not step away alive.

lphoi2morocco026.jpg

Another cluster of weak enemy forces in West Africa is in a very vulnerable position to be encircled and, like all aliens and their aberrations, exterminated and killed twice with fire.

lphoi2morocco027.jpg

lphoi2morocco028.jpg

There was one step left to isolate fully the large enemy formation at Northwest Africa. Defended by aliens in power armor, Mostaganem would prove to be a somewhat tough battle. But once again, the Ultramarines would prove their worth. And thus, by April 11th, the situation has improved a lot. Several enemy pockets were crushed, and against all odds, two incredible victories happened against the most powerful of all enemy ground forces.

lphoi2morocco029.jpg

A massive encirclement was being prepared, while sooner or later the mouth of the Mediterranean would be a very productive area for submarine attacks. The UDMS-KKK have emerged victorious in the battle for the Atlas Mountains, but could they manage to crush such a large and obviously tripod-fitted pocket without greater difficulties? Or would another meatgrinder like San Jose be repeated once again?

lphoi2morocco030.jpg

And most important of all: how many enemy forces could be heading towards Africa at this exact moment? The once dull and "easy" first stage of the Liberation of Africa and future airborne assault on Gibraltar was about to become a far more challenging and bloody affair. The Baneblades have succeeded at their trials by heat-ray fire, but there was only that far that they could go to help the entire AfrikaKKKorps.

The real Battle for Africa has begun.

The Struggle for Algeria

Patton Battle Music

lphoi2algeria001.jpg

9_foab.jpg

While the AfrikaKKKorps reorganize and mobilize themselves to encircle the enemy forces in Morocco and eventually push them to Oue... whatever, the turbojet bombers run deadly sorties to slowly wipe out enemy divisions on the move.

lphoi2algeria002.jpg

lphoi2algeria004.jpg

Meanwhile, finally Southwestern Africa is cutted off. The POPAMOLES in Algiers however, they are weakened, but if simply remaining in static defense, the small number of men defending this front line will eventually have to face a renewed attack. Thus an attack is immediately launched. However, once again enemy carriers cause massive damage on the transports near the English Channel awaiting for D-Day. In answer to their attack idle air wings are sent to Dover, and naval bombing missions shall soon begin through the English Channel.

lphoi2algeria005.jpg

russ_and_hummer_by_LexEtAnnihilato.jpg

With the conquest of Algiers secured, a plan to pocket and crush the Tripods in Mascara begin, as Leman Russ tanks advance through the desert of Sahara, while soon new defenders shall take their position after their strategic redeployment is complete.

lphoi2algeria006.jpg

lphoi2algeria007.jpg

lphoi2algeria008.jpg

kill%20it%20with%20fire.jpg

As soon as the Xenu Renegades were driven away from Algeria, their retreat was cut short by rains of napalm and thermobaric bombs. In the wake of their complete extermination, it was proven once again that when in doubt, incendiary weapons always work. Exterminatus also works but this is Earth for now, everything they have.

lphoi2algeria009.jpg

lphoi2algeria010.jpg

Meanwhile, in West Africa, the encirclement is threatened for a short a while. Everything is set for the complete annihilation for more three alien divisions.

lphoi2algeria011.jpg

These more modern turbojet bombers are proving to be powerful tools, the combination of slowing down severely advancing enemy forces through logistical strikes with constant ground attacks against them has proven itself to be incredibly effective at wiping out all kinds of enemy divisions but tripods. It is becoming clear that from now on air superiority will be even more important than it already was when everything began in that September of 1939.

lphoi2algeria012.jpg

The development of a modern surface navy still is far, far away, while there is little more than one month left for the month when the great operation was planned to happen. They would have to do it somehow without naval superiority. Possibly naval strikes through bombers could make a difference once the time comes to land on the European shores and airdrop on Gibraltar.

lphoi2algeria013.jpg

Many question the point of these submarine operations. However, there is a belief they are forcing the enemy to shift production from military forces to convoys, and that is a good thing, even if it's unlikely to have any major strategic importance in the War of the Worlds.

lphoi2algeria014.jpg

One more enemy division purged by thermobaric bombs.

lphoi2algeria015.jpg

With the Lome completely encircled, the enemy is now ripe for extermination. Field Marshall Riso, a known Nazi that was exiled by the Ubersturmfuhrer a long time ago because of a comment about gramps falling on a hole directed to a furfag, was among the KKK recruits of the alien forces.

lphoi2algeria016.jpg

And he stood no chance.

lphoi2algeria017.jpg

tramp_sinking.jpg

The most legendary tonnage ever achieved in a single U-boat operation happens as near an entire enemy convoy is sent to the bottom of the sea. Many medals shall be awarded for such feat.

lphoi2algeria018.jpg

The following successes however should not be underappreciated. The enemy must bleed. Suffer not.

lphoi2algeria019.jpg

lphoi2algeria020.jpg

A crippled lone division of living dead human corpses, that somehow managed to dig deep enough to survive attacks by thermobaric bombs was quickly dispatched, as the final stages of the liberation of Morocco were closing. And like before, they won't survive long enough to see another battle.

lphoi2algeria021.jpg

The UDMS-KKK Navy have virtually blockaded the mouth of the Suez. Anything attempting to escape is ruthlessly destroyed by barrages of torpedoes.

lphoi2algeria022.jpg

lphoi2algeria023.jpg

lphoi2algeria024.jpg

A risky blind ground attack operation is ordered as it's noticed that enemy divisions are moving westward and will eventually engage at the eastern front of Africa. Unfortunately, the bombers pick the worst possible target. Heat rays annihilate two entire air wings before they could retreat. Fortunately there were readily available reserves in Amerikwa to offset these terrible losses.

While reinforcements marched from the west, including what was certain to be another tripod division, the Tripods attempted to break off the encirclement. Although they are deadly and frightening war machines, the Ultramarines have no fear. Their courage, ingenuity and large amount of anti-tank rifles ensued thus their victory in this battle.

lphoi2algeria027.jpg

Their counter-offensive happened swiftly and mercilessly with the support of the recently fielded Leman Russ tanks.

lphoi2algeria028.jpg

lphoi2algeria029.jpg

After two bloody hours of battle for the hills, half of the tripod division was annihilated. Victory thus ensued, but the line was thin, and more enemy forces were advancing from the east and closing. The final stages to secure air fields for the liberation of Gibraltar were close. The month of April was about to end. D-Day would inbound to begin as soon as Northwest Africa was secured, predicted to happen shortly before the beginning of June.

Road to Gibraltar

Popamole of BROnor: Allied Assault North Africa Theme

In 30th of April, a very strategically important Air Base in Villa Sanjurjo was secured. Thorugh this base the Air Marines would have a direct access to Gibraltar, through which the Iberian offensive of the planned D-Day shall begin. However, it's not over yet. The enemy forces encircled had to be finished off, and the front had to be stabilized.

lphoi2algeria031.jpg

The final battles for Morocco were about to begin, in a sharp contrast to the Year of ITZ, it were the aliens the ones being exterminated and massacred this time. And there would be no mercy. Where the aliens attempt of genocide against humanity was driven by what was believe to be a psychopathic incapability of having emotions and clinical efficiency, their desire to purge the xenos was driven out of the most destructive force in the universe: pure, undistilled, unstreamlined HATE. Hate against the mockeries of human life they recruited from the graveyards of men, Hate against the Tripods, Hate against the POPAMOLES in power armor.

If victorious, the UDMS-KKK would not leave a single xeno breathing in Earth.

Suffer not the aberration. Unfortunately, there was a much, much bigger problem at hand. In spite of continuous logistical strikes, a division of Tripods was quite close from reaching Algiers.

lphoi2algeria034.jpg

lphoi2algeria035.jpg

Thus several divisions that were advancing or to be redeployed to Algiers had to stop. Yet, the enemy was in a very vulnerable position to encirclement, and Leman Russ Tanks thus maneuvered through the deserts to perform the role of hammer to the delicate anvil that a much smaller number of divisions than those that once stood no chance against tripod attacks formed, the plan was to drive the tripods away from Algiers and pocket then into Bilda, where they would be starved of supplies.. Could such relatively small number of soldiers advancing eastwards defeat a Tripod division?

lphoi2algeria036.jpg

Upon further advances through Morocco, the pocketed enemy forces launches a final attempt to break the offensive against Marrakesh. Lacking any armored vehicles, they special forces and infantrymen defending the city must rely on their anti-tank guns and artillery.

lphoi2algeria037.jpg

5 years ago this battle would have been a defeat. Much has changed and the war machines of humanity, although still primitive when compared to the tripods, have evolved considerably during the war. The fact there were nearly one million of human forces surrounding the attackers also contributed to the result.

lphoi2algeria038.jpg

lphoi2algeria039.jpg

Time finally comes to finish things off and set this region completely free from alien presence. The enemies launch a flanking attack to Mogador but fail at stopping them from pocketing and surrounding their forces.

lphoi2algeria040.jpg

After four hours of continuous battle, Agadir is secured for the final slaughter of the alien. The Northwest Africa lies safely in hands of the UDMS-KKK, and now time is drawing near.

lphoi2algeria041.jpg

sword_beach_465_465x330.jpg

All transports nearby are relocated to the recently liberated port of Casablanca, where, once the enemy is finished off in Morocco, all transports will be loaded with near a million of soldiers as the first wave in the liberation of Spain.

lphoi2algeria042.jpg

Several enemy forces are spotted advancing by bombers conducting logistical strikes. Thus once again death from above comes for them as their annihilation begins.

lphoi2algeria043.jpg

A lone enemy infantry division attempts to stop the encirclement of the tripods. It stands no chance and they are forced to stop their offensive. It would be in Bougie however the most dangerous phase, as the tanks would be directly exposed to a direct attack by the enemy tripods.

Final Battle of Algeria

lphoi2algeria044.jpg

war-of-the-worlds-tripod-02-1-1024x768.jpg

Twelve divisions once have failed to hold Bulgaria from the devastation of tripods. One division of Leman Russ tanks now begins a seemingly impossible goal of standing alone, at 1:1 odds increased only through flanking attacks of meager twelve divisions, against Tripods. Many shall die today. If this was to succeed, greater odes shall History write to the many legendary tankers who stood firmly like the 300 Spartans of Thermopylae in their stand through the hills of Bougie.

lphoi2algeria045.jpg

battle_of_kursk.jpg

Two hours later, the Leman Russ did not waver. They were not retreating. They were advancing against the enemy as from behind heavy anti-tank artillery and artillery lit the night skies. The battle was still undecided, but they would never fall back now.

lphoi2algeria046.jpg

lphoi2algeria047.jpg

elalamein.jpg

Thus brave men, on foot and inside tanks would have their heroic feats recorded forever in History. For the first time, defenders have managed to hold their ground against a division of tripods at 1:1 odds in the defensive part of the battle. Waiting no second to celebrate their victory however, they immediately prepared to strike against Algiers and drive the enemy forces to encirclement. In the meantime, enemy bombers still were being slaughtered in the skies above Great Britain.

lphoi2algeria049.jpg

lphoi2algeria050.jpg

While the Tripods were driven away from Algiers, the final, crushing attack against the enemy forces in Northwest Africa has begun, with the offensive coming from countless different sides, the support of the brave Finns, and the enemy starving for supplies, victory ensues after three hours of battle.

Many remember the devastating alien weapon of mass destruction used against Leningrad and Frunze during the Year of ITZ, 1941, that have all but exterminated everyone and everything living in these cities. In face of the threat they represent, and of the fear the aliens may decide to use them once again as a last resort. the UDMS-KKK proceeds through a set of researches that would allow for them to replicate the same devastating capabilities of this weapon, to be used for wiping them out quickly if necessary to avoid a massive loss of human life from the deployment of another of those weapons, for with enough victories, the aliens could become desperate rather than ruthless enough to use them again.

Also, many believed this destructive power could also be used as a source of energy for ships and even cities.

lphoi2algeria052.jpg

lphoi2algeria053.jpg

At last, the lasting victory in Northwest Africa. An entire tripod division defeated by only 13 divisions, and most of them infantry. Now it was the time to regroup forces and reorganize, leaving only a small group with the daring mission of following the road to Suez while most went to the west coast of Morocco, to synchronize with the forces stationed at Southern England for the coming D-Day.

lphoi2algeria054.jpg

Couple with the forces being under strategic redeployment, the upcoming European and African Theaters had a total of almost 4 million men. They were steady, prepared for the ultimate battle while the entirety of West and Northwest Africa have been liberated.

4th of June, 1946, everything was ready for the most important day and greatest amphibious operation ever made in the military history of Europe and Humanity. 3 million men would embark upon Norway, through Hammerfest, upon Germany, through Wilhelmshafen, and upon Spain, through Gibraltar and Seville.

ITZ coming! You've outflanked them very nicely. I wonder how strongly is the Europe defended. There seems to be a ridiculously huge alien stack of doom in Austria.

+1000 divisions. Won't be easy.

Also I was lying about the date because I couldn't bother waiting.

Fourth of June, Ninety forty-six was the day, D-Day. Near four million men prepared themselves for the greatest battles ever fought on Earth. Through Scandinavia, Cherbourg, Wilhelmsaven and Seville they would land, to crush the enemy, to begin the first offensive moves on the European Theater of the War of the Worlds, deemed by many the most important one. To break through Fortress Europe, against an enemy which still is technologically ahead and numerically superior would not be easy.

lphoi2dday002.jpg

While everything was being readied for the great operation through Spain, Scandinavia, Germany and France, the Expeditionary Air Forces of the UDMS-KKK fought from Britain and flew to secure Air Superiority over the skies of Normandy and of the Netherlands against the more technologically advanced alien flying saucer shaped interceptors, but thanks to their superior training and determination, to their experience in the Battle of Britain of 1945, they have prevailed after an incredibly challenging air battle, taking down hundreds of enemy aircrafts through their sorties.

lphoi2dday004.jpg

However, a small sudden change of the enemy disposition of forces require an adaptation of the plans. A new target is chosen: Amsterdam, in the Netherlands, and a new operation is quickly organized: Operation Failure of the Free Market Garden 3

For OFFMG3, eight divisions of Air Marines shall land over Amsterdam supported by an amphibious assault of three special forces divisions, while more eight divisions would attack Cherbourg, supported only by shore bombardments and tactical bombers. Hopefully neither of these areas were being protected by a tripod. At 5th of June, 1:00 AM, they would airdrop simultaneously over both regions while the amphibious assault of Amsterdam would procceed.

lphoi2dday007.jpg

HELGHAST.jpg

Three hours have passed since the paratroopers landed over Cherbourg and enemy interceptors attempt to attack the aircrafts flying over its skies, but allied fighters came to protect them, as did the escort fighters of bombers providing air support for the Air Marines. Both Amsterdam and Cherbourg were guarded by POPAMOLES in power armor, meaning this would be a very long and bloody battle, if successful. However, the paratroopers lack the luxury of going back to their airplanes. Victory is critical. Upon the shoulders of thousands lied the fate of billions. Neither of the battles would be easy, for these, although no tripods, were very tough foes. However, there was something that there were no plans capable of stopping.

Battle of Wadenzee

lphoi2dday008.jpg

800px-Principe-de-Asturias_Wasp_Forrestal_Invincible_1991_DN-ST-92-01129s.jpg

Hundreds of Modern Aircraft carriers attacked the transport fleets near Amsterdam, taking everyone by surprise. The entire second front over Northern Europe was doomed to failure. The paratroopers fighting at Amsterdam would have no reinforcements as thousands of carrier-based fighters ravaged everything in their path. There was no time for an organized retreat. Millions of soldiers were embarked upon these ships. This could be a disaster of untold proportions.

It was at this darkest moment, that Admiral King would make his choice. He has chosen to stay and fight, to buy time for the transports to retreat, to make the true Last Stand of the Kwanzanian Navy so that, with the sacrifice of thousands, a million of lives could be saved. Outnumbered at 10:1, they would fight to the bitter end, like in another timeline did the Japanese battleship Yamato, now they felt how it was to be at the losing side in a naval war, a massacre was about to begin.

lphoi2dday009.jpg

HermesSinking.jpg

After two hours of battle, the last carrier of the USN have sunk. Their bravery, their courage and unremitting loyalty to the cause of humanity shall never be forgotten.

lphoi2dday010.jpg

fallout-3-operation-anchorage_msp1.jpg

The intense air battles of the skies of Cherbourg finally ended with a decisive victory of the UDMS-KKK and of humanity. However, the land battle carried on as the power armor aliens held a bloody defense of the region, being extremely well entrenched through the existing infrastructure. Many have and shall die to secure this landing zone. It was inevitable, almost as inevitable as the building military disaster in naval history that would repeat the tragedy of the Battle of the English Channel.

lphoi2dday011.jpg

:salute:

The brave sailors of the Belleau Wood, of the Marblehead, of even the USS Cleveland, and of all other ships that sunk to the bottom of the sea in this dark 5th of June shall never be forgotten. With their ultimate sacrifice, the lives of millions of soldiers whose transport ships suffered the risk of being surrounded at the coast of Amsterdam were saved. May these heroes be forever remembered, in both their major victories over Amerikwa and Japan, and in their ultimate DOOM in Europe. If all letters sent to the families who lost their loved ones in the wars could be piled up, they would reach to the Moon by now, while the Main Battlefleet was now truly, completely wiped out, and the only remaining capitals of the UDMS-KKK Navy were an old battleship and a few heavy cruisers.

However, although such sacrifice have allowed for the transport ships to flee the region, the men who fought at Amsterdam alone against the aliens in power armor would now have no way to fall back and no support. And worst of all, no reinforcements to help them defending it once and if they manage to secure Amsterdam. Like another similarly named operation of another time line that happened at a geographically close location to this one, Operation Failure of the Free Market Garden 3 could end as a complete disaster and lead to the death of many fine men, while the future of the landings over Normandy and the Netherlands was compromised, for who knows where that gigantic fleet of hundreds of carriers would go? The situation has gone completely against the planned and predicted, and now, perhaps the challenges ahead would be as massive, if not more, than the challenge of surviving through the long gone by now Year of ITZ in 1941.

The D-Day, for now, had equal chances of turning into a complete disaster, or perhaps into an astounding first victory over Europe.

Well, the rule in HoI II is that AI ships will always pop up when you're conducting a naval invasion or generally moving lightly protected transport ships :(

This can turn into a massacre, but fight on till the enemy is completely wiped out :salute:
