The Supervisor in Power Armor takes notice of my presence and greets me warmly.
01.jpg

vd.jpg
So, are you in charge around here?
talus.jpg
No, we are directed by the council of elders. Maxson, the High Elder, would be the person in charge. If you need to speak with him, you'll find him on the fourth floor.
vd.jpg
So what do you?
talus.jpg
I am the Senior Paladin, Rhombus' right-hand man. We're in charge of the Paladins and Knights. Right now I'm supervising training exercises. We're getting ready...for anything.
vd.jpg
You're getting ready for what?
talus.jpg
There are rumors of a large force moving around in the mountains and desert. With the missing caravans and these rumors, we're just playing it safe.
vd.jpg
How can I get some weapons and equipment?
talus.jpg
In a hurry, are we? As an Initiate, you are entitled to a few things. I'll put in a clearance for combat armor and three orders for ammunition, bullets of your choice. Just see Michael in the next room for the supplies.
vd.jpg
Thanks, what about some high-tech weapons?
talus.jpg
Hmm, I don't know. You may have proven ourself to be an initiate but that doesn't mean we start handing over weapons to someone that might not be qualified, especially to an outsider, no offense.
vd.jpg
I really need some better firepower.
talus.jpg
You've built quite a reputation for yourself. The people I've checked with hold you in high regard. I don't think you need any help, you seem quite capable. However, if you help me with a little problem, I might be able to reward you with something.
vd.jpg
Sure. What's the problem?
talus.jpg
I sent one of our Initiates out to the Hub a short while back and we haven't heard back from him. If you can find out what happened to him I'd be very grateful.
vd.jpg
I'll check it out.
talus.jpg
Thank you. I'll remember this and when I've seen that you've gained enough experience I might be able to give you something special from our order.

I return to Michael, the storekeeper.
02.jpg

vd.jpg
I have something to pick up.
store.jpg
Okay, let me see...Ah, yes. You do have authorization to check something out. A good defense is the best offense. Or was it the other way around? Well, it doesn't matter. Here's your armor. Be sure to take care of it. I can't give out more than one set. Was there another item you needed?
vd.jpg
No, that's it. Thanks.

The Brotherhood-issued Combat Armor is similar, yet superior. It features a silver emblem emblazoned on its torso.
03.jpg

Time to head down to High Elder Maxson.
04.jpg

The Sister in Power Armor stops me before I could approach Maxson.
05.jpg

vd.jpg
And who are you?
mathia.jpg
The name is Mathia. I am officially Maxson's assistant, but I am also here to make sure no one messes with the old man.
vd.jpg
Old man? That sounds a bit disrespectful.
mathia.jpg
No, no, not at all. He's a good guy. Besides, I wouldn't bad mouth him while he is standing next to me.
vd.jpg
So, what is it that you do for Maxson as his assistant?
mathia.jpg
I take care of all the paper work. He could not do paper work to save his life. Also, if he clears a Weapons Upgrade for one of the Brothers, I process the order.
vd.jpg
Ok, thanks for the information.

I turn towards the High Elder, he smiles as I approach to introduce myself.
06.jpg

vd.jpg
Maybe you can tell me? Everyone here seems to be on edge. It's like you are getting ready to go to war, but no one knows with who.
max.jpg
Well, the Merchants from the Hub told us a bunch of caravans disappeared on their way up north. I think there's an army in the mountains, but the Elders, well, they don't want to act until they're sure.
vd.jpg
Oh, that. I have found proof that it is this army which is causing that disappearance of the caravans. It is an army of Super Mutants. You have good reason to be worried. They look very formidable.
max.jpg
Then you understand the problem. To survive, we need someone who knows the outside. Like you.
vd.jpg
But I'm just barely months after leaving my own Vault!
max.jpg
You survived the Glow where others could not. And if the reports are accurate, you took down a Deathclaw with just a spiked fist. Crime levels dropped wherever you visit. You're qualified. The Brotherhood will provide you with the resources you may need in this endeavour.
vd.jpg
Very well. I'll go scout out the area to the north and then report what I find.

He smiles and pats my shoulder in appreciation.
max.jpg
Good. Anything else you need to ask?
vd.jpg
High Elder, would it be possible for me to get a hold of some better weapons?
max.jpg
Speak to my assistant, Mathia, about that. The Brotherhood provides.
vd.jpg
Thank you.

I turn towards Mathia who nods in acknowledgement, holding a communication pad ready.
07.jpg

vd.jpg
The Power Fist.
mathia.jpg
Excellent choice, Initiate. One moment while I requisition one off the storage for you...

She returns later with the Power Fist unit. It fits snugly on my right arm.
mathia.jpg
Remember to keep it supplied with small energy cells, without it, it's nothing but dead weight.
vd.jpg
Understood.
08.jpg

I should prepare myself before embarking on the mission. The Power Fist will enhance my offensive capability, but I still want the T-51b. I decide to visit the other levels.
09.jpg

The third level contains a massive network of research lab of some sort.
10.jpg

I look around curiously, before one of the research assistants greets me.
11.jpg

vd.jpg
Could you direct me to the library?
sophia.jpg
This *IS* the library. Here we keep records of all technical data on weaponry and technology, and, of course, the history of the Brotherhood.
vd.jpg
No books?

She shakes her head.
sophia.jpg
We have many holo-disks here in the library. They are divided between history, technology, and weapon design.
vd.jpg
Ah, silly me. Would you mind if I take a look on your technology?
sophia.jpg
These are things that only Scribes and Paladins have access to. Vree may be able to help you.
vd.jpg
is there any holo-disks that I can have access to?
sophia.jpg
Our history is available to everyone. So that they may learn of our great history. Not that any one ever looks at them.
vd.jpg
I would like to see it.
sophia.jpg
Well, it's good to see someone interested in our great history. Unlike others around here. Here you go. This is a disk of some of our earliest writings.
vd.jpg
Thank you, Sister. May I know who you are and what is it that you do here?
sophia.jpg
Of course, I am Sophia, Vree's assistant.
vd.jpg
What is it you do as Vree's assistant?
sophia.jpg
My area of specialty is the Brotherhood's history. It seems that some people around here have forgotten the importance of our history.
vd.jpg
What could be more important than history?
sophia.jpg
Vree seems to think that the research of new weaponry and the information gathered from Mutant autopsies is more important than our history. She has forgotten that our history is a vital part of our lives. It has gotten so bad that many of the new initiates don't even know who Roger Maxson is or what exactly he did for us.
vd.jpg
I agree that history is important, but new technology and better weapons is what I need now to face the Wasteland...
sophia.jpg
I understand, you need to speak with Vree about things of that nature.
vd.jpg
Do not worry, Sister. This Initiate will know of the Brotherhood's history.

I upload the holo-disk data into my Pip-Boy reader. A beep later, and the screen comes alive.
12.jpg

13.jpg

Those must be the poor souls that have died in the Glow. Rest in Peace, Brothers. Your deaths have been chronicled.

I turn towards the Master Scribe, Vree, who seems to be deep in her studies.
14.jpg

vd.jpg
I know you're the Master Scribe, but what does that mean?
vree.jpg
I record the knowledge of our ancestors for future generations.
vd.jpg
Interesting, that means you know a lot of stuff.
vree.jpg
Yes, I guess you could say I know, 'stuff.' What can I help you with?
vd.jpg
I'd like to know more about the weapons we make here.
vree.jpg
Speak to the knights. Ask them to show you one of the latest laser pistols I designed.
vd.jpg
I've got another question.
vree.jpg
Go ahead.
vd.jpg
Brother Maxson tasked me with hunting down the source of mutation. In your opinion, what is causing all the mutations?
vree.jpg
Between the nuclear and biogenetic weapons used in the War, it's surprising we don't have more mutations. However, if we can hold out, everything will be okay.
vd.jpg
Why do you say that?
vree.jpg
All the mutants I've studied have been sterile - they can't breed with another creature.
vd.jpg
I know ghouls can't possibly do that , but that includes those giant mutants as well?
vree.jpg
Yes. If we could clean up the mutation sources, we should be able to simply outlive the mutants.
vd.jpg
Interesting theory. Any proof?
vree.jpg
Here, take this holo-disc, it's got copies of my autopsies on mutant corpses. It clearly shows that no mutant could possibly reproduce successfully.
vd.jpg
That's...interesting. Thank you, Master Scribe.

I plug in the holo-disc and read.
15.jpg

16.jpg

17.jpg

18.jpg

Wait..this is interesting. Forced Evolutionary Virus II: Severe overdose. Where have I heard that word before? Oh, yeah! The Glow! I load up the holo-discs I've recovered from the Glow into my Pip-Boy.

21.jpg

22.jpg

Looks like it...next one is more interesting...
23.jpg

24.jpg

25.jpg

Mariposa Military Base. That's where they are probably creating these soldiers.

vd.jpg
Vree, I notice you have a lot of computers here, do you have a terminal I could use to learn more about computer usage?
vree.jpg
Of course, follow me.
19.jpg

I spend some time learning the basics and advanced computing commands. It was very informative. More so than the basic Vault course I had back home.
20.jpg

Next , I decide to check out the weapons lab.
26.jpg

27.jpg

vd.jpg
Who are you and what do you do here?
paul.jpg
I'm Paul, head of the Energy Weapons development.
vd.jpg
What kind of energy weapons?
paul.jpg
Laser, Plasma..you name it. I've built it..or at least re-built it.
vd.jpg
I've already got myself a plasma pistol and rifle...where can I get a Power Armor?
paul.jpg
Kyle's in charge of that, speak to him on the other counter.

Another technician stands next to a counter full of disassembled power armor. He looks frustrated as he examines the Power Armor parts.
28.jpg

vd.jpg
Hi.
29.jpg

vd.jpg
What?
kyle.jpg
Nothing. It's just that no one has ever made it back from the Ancient Order.
vd.jpg
It was difficult, but not impossible.
kyle.jpg
To hear Maxson's stories, you'd think it was the ninth level of hell.
vd.jpg
Maxson? General Maxson?
kyle.jpg
Not General Maxson, his grandfather, Roger Maxson. I heard you brought back a disk that told what happened to the guys who rebelled against him and went down there to recover the lost technology.
vd.jpg
Yeah, I guess I did. I'm Brian, who're you?
kyle.jpg
The moniker's Kyle. I've never met a myth before.
vd.jpg
So, what do you do here?
kyle.jpg
I fix stuff, run maintenance checks, that sort of crap.
vd.jpg
Sounds like my kind of thing. But what kind of stuff are you fixing?
kyle.jpg
Currently, a power armor. And other times, anything else that needs fixin'.
vd.jpg
How can I get my hands on some power armor?
kyle.jpg
I'd give ya this power armor right here, but it's missing its Systolic Motivator. It's useless without it.
vd.jpg
Where could someone get one of those?
kyle.jpg
Well, they've got more than enough up in the supply room, but Michael and his damn forms say that this particular suit isn't up to specs. Damn bureaucrats.
vd.jpg
So if I brought you a Systolic Motivator, would you fix it up for me?
kyle.jpg
Whoa, wait a minute there, fella, that would take a good coupla hours. I'd loan you a manual and my tools, but you'd hafta repair it yoursel.f
vd.jpg
Just my kind of thing. I'll be back.

I left Kyle and explore other parts of the level, living quarters and all.
30.jpg

And a medical bay.
31.jpg

vd.jpg
Do you do operations?
doc.jpg
But of course, but it's very costly and time consuming.
vd.jpg
Details?
doc.jpg
I can help make you stronger, more perceptive, endurance, maybe accelerate your learning process, and increase your dexterity. Which would you like more information on? I can only do each operation once.
vd.jpg
What can you do to improve my strength?
doc.jpg
That's easy to do, but there's a long recovery time. It only costs 2000 caps, but takes 3 weeks to heal.
vd.jpg
Do it. I'm going to need every strength I've got to beat the mutants.
doc.jpg
Okay, here goes nothing...Just kidding. we can start right away.

I take off my clothes and let her start the procedure. I slip away as she starts the gas flow.

Three weeks later...
doc.jpg
So how are you feeling?
vd.jpg
I can feel the difference already.
doc.jpg
You're quite a talkative person in your sleep, you're free to go!
vd.jpg
No, I'm not done yet. How about my brain. Can you do something to my brain?
doc.jpg
It's the most complex and dangerous! It'll take three weeks and cost 6000 caps.
vd.jpg
Do it.

Moments later...
doc.jpg
Now where's the brain again? What's this thing supposed to do?

Panicking, I try to fight the chems, but it's a losing battle.

Three weeks later...
doc.jpg
Well, it looks like I got it all back in and everything's running great.
vd.jpg
I feel....it's as if the pathways of my thoughts have direct links to everywhere in my head. I can even remember the first man I killed in the wasteland.
doc.jpg
Take it easy, Brian.
vd.jpg
I'm running low on caps, doc. But fix up my endurance.
doc.jpg
That one's not that difficult. Takes a week and cost 3000 caps.
vd.jpg
OK.
doc.jpg
I hope you have a heart...

She winks as I fall under the gas.

One week later...
32.jpg

vd.jpg
Breathing's good...mind's clear...I feel much stronger. I'll return when I have enough caps for the rest of the operation, doc.
doc.jpg
Good luck in your mission, Brian.

I return to Michael, the storekeeper.
33.jpg

vd.jpg
Hi, Mike. I'm looking for a Systolic Motivator.
store.jpg
Do you have the proper authorization?
vd.jpg
Yes. I was sent here to get a Systolic Motivator.
store.jpg
Let me look.

He checks his terminal for a moment. Then shakes his head.
store.jpg
I'm sorry, Brian. I don't see a request for a Systolic Motivator. You'll need to get a proper one before I release it.

Time to pull a fast one, he looks unsure.
vd.jpg
You don't? Ordinance was suppose to send one down yesterday yesterday. Look, can you help me out? If I don't get this part, it's gonna be my ass. I'm sure the form will be here later today.

He crosses his arm on his chest before giving an understanding nod. He enters the storage room and returns with a small chip.
store.jpg
OK. Here you go. Just don't tell anyone that I gave this to you. Rhombus would have my head if he knew I had given the parts out without proper authorization.
vd.jpg
Thank you, Michael.

I return to Kyle's workshop.
34.jpg

vd.jpg
Yes. Here it is.
kyle.jpg
Great! Here, just let me install this into the unit.

Moments pass as he slot the chip in, making sure it's properly connected and closes the panel shut. He gives the thumbs up.

kyle.jpg
OK, you're all set to go. Here, take this manual. If you have any kind of aptitude with repairing things, you should have no problem. Good luck.
vd.jpg
Stand back and watch, Brother.

I thumbed through the pages, burning every single technical terms into my mind.
35.jpg

Carefully, I reassemble the Power Armor, making sure every single nut and bolts are connected and not a single part is left behind on the counter when I finish. Kyle observes and nod as he confirms the installation of each parts before I proceed.
36.jpg

Hours later...
kyle.jpg
Hot damn, Brian. Those are mighty fine pair of arms you got there. Superb concentration, too! Go on, man! Put it on!
37.jpg

I bend over to pick up the armor...and felt the strain on my back as I do so.
38.jpg

vd.jpg
It's...too...heavy.
kyle.jpg
Take off your combat armor, Brian. This thing's made of solid steel, not brahmin's hide!
vd.jpg
OK, here goes...
39.jpg

vd.jpg
Ugh...I think..I need to drop off another stuff from my backpack.
40.jpg

kyle.jpg
You got another set of combat armor in your pack? What for? Diaper change?
vd.jpg
Aww, shut up.
41.jpg

vd.jpg
Hnnnnghhhhhhh.
kyle.jpg
Well, I'm outta ideas.
vd.jpg
Fuck, I got this.
42.jpg

kyle.jpg
Shit, outside chems?!
43.jpg

vd.jpg
Better than nothing...

With great difficulty, I don the armor. Kyle helping me put the parts...and inspecting the joints and each corner for any sign of damage before powering it on. I put on the helmet...it was all dark inside..my voice is muffled.
vd.jpg
How is it?
kyle.jpg
Great, I'm powering it up.

A soft whrrr was heard as the reactor on the suit comes to life. I could feel the strength coursing through me. I swung a few strikes, feeling no weight at all. All power, no limit.
44.jpg

I've got the power.

  You used Buffout just to pick up that damn armor?? Isn't this a bit of overkill? It would have been easier if you put your entire inventory in one of these lockers, donned the armor, then come back and get all of your stuff back.

Endurance Operation didn't change hit point gain retroactively, it seems. Or maybe I'm calculating additional hit point per level wrongly?

The lack of Take All button discourage me from doing that.

No. Really, M47 is my workplace account. I did that after I kept logging myself out when I log in from work. Even though my home computer is offline, hence Majestic47 is created to facilitate postings from work to save me precious few seconds of free time at home from relogging in to the codex.

Which is only the major among the multinous faults of Fallout 1. Once you get familiar with Fallout 2 and its fix, you lack the motivation to get back into the muck.

Not having motivation to play Fallout because of the lack of a take all button, just because you have to click and drag some shit yourself is the definition of popamole faggotry.

Jesus Christ.

vd2.jpg
HA...HA....THIS IS..
todd.jpg
It looks like you've worn the T-51b for the first time. Would you like a step-by-step tutorial?
vd2.jpg
WHAT?
kyle.jpg
Hey, kid, turn off the voice amplifier...you don't need to be LOUD.
vd2.jpg
HOW DO I DO THAT?
kyle.jpg
Just say it. It's voice activated.
vd2.jpg
VOICE AMPLIFIER, OFF.
todd.jpg
Done! Would you like to proceed with the tutorial? What's your name new user?
vd2.jpg
Kyle, I think I'm hallucinating. There's this strange cartoon figure talking to me. I can see him...can't you?
kyle.jpg
Oh, wow. It's gotta be one of those Machine Spirits the Elders used to talk about.
vd2.jpg
A machine-what?
todd.jpg
To move forward, hold down the thumbsticks towards the direction...
vd2.jpg
It's telling me how to move, what the fuck?
kyle.jpg
It's Todd, giving you some basic instructions.
vd2.jpg
It has a name?
todd.jpg
Why, yes I do! Hello! What's your name? I'm Todd! Short for T-51b Operations, Data and Defence system.
vd2.jpg
Uh, hi, Todd. I'm Brian.
kyle.jpg
I recommend you disable it permanently, some of our knights were so distracted while on duty by it. It won't shut the fuck up, you see.
todd.jpg
No, don't listen to him, Brian! I can help you. I have Real Time Tactical Awareness, man!
kyle.jpg
It won't shut up about 'real time combat' and kept telling knights to 'drink from the toilets.' Hurts some mission plan real bad.
vd2.jpg
Todd....
todd.jpg
Please, Brian..I'll be good. I promise! I'm probably the last of my kind! I'm SPECIAL!
vd2.jpg
Todd says he's the last one left. Is that true?
kyle.jpg
That...would be true. Now I know why the Elders don't want this unit reactivated, Todd's obsolete. All current T-51b units basically come with Todd Systems uninstalled. Plain old text instructions works just fine. So, would you like me to...
todd.jpg
Please, Brian....I'm your friend...I won't hurt you-
vd2.jpg
It's okay, Kyle. I'll keep Todd around. Gets kinda lonely in the wastelands.
todd.jpg
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
kyle.jpg
If you say so. Go on, Brian. Pick up your combat armor. You should be strong enough to hold the weight.

I do so, finding no difficulty in stuffing two combat armors into my pack and carrying it at the same time.
02.jpg

vd2.jpg
This is amazing...
kyle.jpg
Why don't you take it for a test drive?
vd2.jpg
Sounds like a good idea. I need to find someone in the Hub.

todd.jpg
So where are we going, Brian?
vd2.jpg
The Hub.
03.jpg

todd.jpg
Sounds fun! Are we going to kill someone?
vd2.jpg
No..just looking for a missing Initiate.
todd.jpg
Dawwww...I'm so disappointed. I was hoping we get into combat quick. I'm SO bored.
vd2.jpg
Yeah, Todd...just be read...uhhhghhhhh...

I...I can't stop shivering...
04.jpg

todd.jpg
Holy fuck, Brian...your muscular activity is getting into severe downturn, man. What the fuck does hyper agility-depreciation mean? Try to breathe, and don't vomit! Don't want you to dirty the suit!
vd2.jpg
Hnnnnnghhh...I'm fine. It's just the Buffout withdrawal.
todd.jpg
I see you have a problem.
vd2.jpg
It'll pass...it's not the first time.
todd.jpg
You're pretty much limping around...might want to rest up a bit.
05.jpg

vd2.jpg
I'm fine. C'mon...let's go...

I arrive at the Hub, thankfully without encountering any obstacles along the way. The withdrawal is still hitting me hard, but the suit's life support and Todd's incessant chatter is keeping me conscious. I decide to ask around town for 'seedier sections' to search for the Initiate.
06.jpg

07.jpg

vd2.jpg
Hmm. The FLC? I'll take a look, thanks.

I trade away the spare combat armor for some caps and grenades.
08.jpg

todd.jpg
I hope we get into a fight, Brian.
vd2.jpg
Eh...we might be heading into one right now.

I step into the FLC office, remembering the owner's warning not to interrupt him again. I decide to ignore it and tap him on the shoulder. He turns around and his eyes grew large.
09.jpg

todd.jpg
OH YES!
vd2.jpg
Can't say he wasn't asking for this.
10.jpg

Before his guards could react, my power fist has arrived at its destination. Punching Lorenzo's ticket for a one-way trip to afterlife.
11.jpg

todd.jpg
WOOOHOOO!

A gun shot rang out from behind me. I felt something small impact the back of my armor.
12.jpg

13.jpg

todd.jpg
Get'em Brian!

I advance under the hail of gunfire, ignoring the oncoming bullets as they harmlessly bounce off the Power Armor's surface. I was a metallic god.
15.jpg

vd2.jpg
You done with that?
16.jpg

16a.jpg

todd.jpg
Pwned!

The other guard stood dumbfounded as his friend turned cold meat in one clean strike. He fired another round before lowering his gun in despair.
17.jpg

No mercy.
18.jpg

19.jpg

To my disappointment, the FLC building did not contain the missing Initiate. But I was satisfied with the results of the Power Armor's first engagement.
todd.jpg
That was some nice punching, Brian. But how about some heavy weapons man, like rocket launchers or mini guns?
vd2.jpg
Too heavy. Let's move on. I think the man we're looking might be somewhere in the Old Town.

I spy a strange sight in the first building at Old Town. An armed group takes up residence there. Too heavily armed for a simple drug dealer and they don't look like they're selling anything. I decide to pay them a visit. Someone cried out 'The Brotherhood!' as I opened the door and was greeted by a rain of shotgun shells.
20.jpg

That doesn't....OUCH!
20a.jpg

vd2.jpg
Todd! Damage report!
todd.jpg
Shit, shit, shit ,shit. Injecting stim-packs!

A direct engagement after that sort of wound is suicidal. I back off and let them bunch up at the door way before attacking.
21.jpg

Looks good...
22.jpg

I pulled the pin.
23.jpg

Not as effective as I thought, one of the guards decide to punch me with his spiked fist...
24.jpg

Aside from loud noises, he succeeded at doing not much else.
25.jpg

One more won't hurt.....me.
26.jpg

27.jpg

The group fell backwards, but nonetheless regained their footing for another attack.
28.jpg

The combat shotgun toting bastard opened fire, this time unloading his whole chamber.
29.jpg

Fuck. I really felt that.
30.jpg

todd.jpg
Ohgodohgodohgod...

I spied another one raising his pistol, about to take aim. This is it...
31.jpg

Only for him to miss and hit his friend instead. Lucky break. But a third burst of 10mm SMG is coming...
32.jpg

I survived the attack. Just barely.
vd2.jpg
Todd, apply Pyscho and Stims, now!
todd.jpg
OK OK OK

I felt better as the suit injection system does it work. Can't believe I had to rely on Psycho to take on a bunch of random punks...this suit isn't invulnerable, after all..
33.jpg

Crisis over. Time for a counter attack.
35.jpg

The shotgun bastard got it right on his eyes, still alive, but blind. He panicked and doubled back...leaving his friends behind.
36.jpg

37.jpg

With the threat neutralized, and the Pyscho boosting my agility past its crippled state, I renew my attacks on the rest of his buddies. Dropping one in a single punch to the eyes.
38.jpg

The last two remained defiant, letting loose small caliber fire, to little effect.
39.jpg

Another strike, and the second last one is downed.
40.jpg

I approach the last one....and he let loose another desperate burst before screaming bloody murder at me.
41.jpg

I punched his ticket, he won't be coming back.
43.jpg

todd.jpg
...That was too close, Brian.
vd2.jpg
Tell me about it. I thought this suit's supposed to be powerful.
todd.jpg
You can't blame ME! I'm just the software man! I didn't design this shit. Now go loot their shit and sell stuff.
vd2.jpg
Not here for that.

I deftly pick the locks of the door they were guarding.
44.jpg

45.jpg

vd2.jpg
I'm from the Brotherhood. I've been looking for you.
46.jpg

vd2.jpg
Talus sent me.
47.jpg

48.jpg

vd2.jpg
Well, you're welcome. I'm just glad I found you.
49.jpg

50.jpg

todd.jpg
Hey, uh, Brian. The Thieves' Circle sounds interesting, man. Why don't you...uh..join them and make some caps?
vd2.jpg
That's pretty retar- eh...why not?
todd.jpg
I *knew* you'd see it my way, Brian. Let's go!

The cartoon kid starts bouncing up and down on my visor display. Guess he'll be ecstatic when I get there...

todd.jpg
Did you know I'm 41 years old?

Ok, so he's *immature*. Glad to know. I cleaned the muck off my power fist and resume my sweep through the Old Town.

Why, yes I do! Hello! What's your name? I'm Todd! Short for T-51b Operations, Data and Defence system.

I bet you made this lp just to be able to write this line. Amazing.

I advance under the hail of gunfire, ignoring the oncoming bullets as they harmlessly bounce off the Power Armor's surface. I was a metallic god.

:smug:
That's what I felt when I decided to murder everyone in the Wastedlands, back in my second playthrough. It was... Glorious.

Can't believe I had to rely on Psycho to take on a bunch of random punks...this suit isn't invulnerable, after all..

The suit is not the problem, it's the user :M :M

Are we there yet?
01.jpg

vd.jpg
...Todd, I need to concentrate...on this lock.
todd.jpg
Oh...okay.
02.jpg

vd.jpg
Todd, scan the perimeter for traps.
todd.jpg
Oh...scanning...scanning....scanning.....
vd.jpg
Well?
todd.jpg
Well, what?
vd.jpg
I felt there's a trap here...somewhere. Can you confirm?
todd.jpg
WHOA! Holy shit. Yes, there's definitely *something* here. I just don't know where, Brian.
vd.jpg
Very useful of you.
todd.jpg
No sweat, Brian! *Anything* you need, I got it covered!
vd.jpg
OK, keep quiet while I get to the last door.

I decide to hug the edges, and miraculously avoided triggering any traps on the way to the last door. The lock yields to my touch.
03.jpg

Looks like we've stumbled on another hide out.
04.jpg

todd.jpg
Yayyyy! We should totally join them, Brian!
vd.jpg
Todd, are you retarded?
todd.jpg
Yes! I MEAN- NO!
vd.jpg
They kidnapped a member of the Brotherhood. We can't join them.
todd.jpg
You got no proof, man! Absolutely none!

The animated Todd starts crossing his arms, seemingly smug about the whole thing. Well...too bad, I'm not doing it. I walked past the posse of thieves and straight to their leader, who was chilling at the back.

05.jpg

vd.jpg
What is this place?
06.jpg

todd.jpg
Say yes, Brian. You won't regret it! We'll be RICH and we'll buy BIGGER guns!
vd.jpg
Not a chance.
todd.jpg
YEAH! You tell 'em, Brian - wait- what?
07.jpg

todd.jpg
C'mon, Brian~
vd.jpg
I don't see why. You kidnapped a Brotherhood Initiate, and I'm here to put you down.
08.jpg

todd.jpg
Brian, NOOOOOOOO~~

The rogue leader turned his back on me. Big mistake. I wind my power fist a little before striking him hard at the back of his neck.
09.jpg

Before he could scream out, I knelt down and choked him hard with my left, snapping his neck instantly.
10.jpg

vd.jpg
Those who mess with the Brotherhood, die by the Brotherhood.
todd.jpg
That was....that was...
vd.jpg
What?
todd.jpg
ICE. COLD. MAN! Brian! You were awesome!
vd.jpg
Shut the fuck up and let's move out before the rest notice this mess.

I left the Thieves' Circle. They won't be messing around with the Hub townsfolk much without their leader. I make my way back to the Brotherhood to report to Brother Talus.
12.jpg

vd.jpg
You're welcome.
talus.jpg
If you require any high powered weaponry...or even a Power Armor...you have my authorization.
vd.jpg
I'm good. Thank you for the offer, Brother Talus. I'm off.
talus.jpg
Good luck on your mission, Brother Mitsoda.

I used my remaining caps to augment my vision in the medical bay.
13.jpg

14.jpg

todd.jpg
Welcome back, killer. Where to now?
vd.jpg
Time to hunt down the Mutants, my body is ready.
todd.jpg
Eh...we gonna start wandering blind in the wastelands to the northwest? C'mon, what is this? It's so old school - where's the quest compass? So much decline of ages....
vd.jpg
Hey, you're the Machine Spirit. Start advising. The D in your name doesn't stand for Dumbass, is it?
todd.jpg
Sigh..fine, fine. OK. I checked your PipBoy logs, why don't you...uh...kick some mutant ass in Necropolis. That's where you first saw these guys, right?
vd.jpg
Hmmmm. Now that you mention it.
todd.jpg
I know I'm right. *crosses his arm, looking smug*
vd.jpg
Alright, let's go. Hopefully, they're still there.

We set forth towards Necropolis, hoping to intercept the small band of mutants who were guarding the watershed.
15.jpg

todd.jpg
Brian, would you like some music to accompany your journey?
vd.jpg
Oh, I'd love to, but where are you going to get those from?
todd.jpg
Wow, you're dumb, aren't you?
vd.jpg
*Chuckles* This should be good. Go ahead, Todd. Share me your wisdom.
todd.jpg
Did you know I have AM/FM receiver? Huh? Why, I can pick up radio transmissions from almost a bajillion kilometres away and play the hit songs from the sixties and shit!
vd.jpg
Alright, hit me up with one.
todd.jpg
Uh...stand by.......
vd.jpg
C'mon, Todd. I'm waiting...
todd.jpg
Where the fuck's the radio stations? Why aren't they responding?
vd.jpg
Because there's nothing powering them up?
todd.jpg
No, Brian, I'm not THAT stupid. Wait - Hang on! I've got something!
vd.jpg
Oh?

There's a long pause...I kept walking...at least this retard is keeping the trip interesting, aside from punching stray radscorpions and successfully carrying out rat diplomacy with my fists.
todd.jpg
Mmmmmmmmmayyyyyyyyyyyybeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....
vd.jpg
*Bursts out laughing* You're singing...aw God, Todd.
todd.jpg
Youuuuuuuuuu'llllllllll think of meeeeeeeeeee when-----
vd.jpg
Shut up. We're here.
16.jpg

17.jpg

vd.jpg
Looks like the mutants are here....with additional forces.
todd.jpg
Fuck man, what are you waiting for? Hit VATS and shoot them on the dick!
vd.jpg
I ain't a sniper. And there's too many of them. Looks like they've got plasma rifles, too. This could get ugly.
18.jpg

19.jpg

todd.jpg
You didn't come all the way here to negotiate, are you? You're not as retarded as I thought, right?
vd.jpg
Worry not, Todd. OK. Let's draw up a plan. Follow my lead, okay?
todd.jpg
As if I have a choice.
vd.jpg
Right. Here's what we'll do...

Moments later....
20.jpg

todd.jpg
This is the *dumbest* idea I've ever heard.
vd.jpg
Override Machine Spirit Voice Activated.
todd.jpg
Mmmph.
21.jpg

vd.jpg
I want you to take me to your superiors.
22.jpg

It must've been days, or weeks since we left Necropolis. A small party of mutants escorted me to a military compound somewhere in the northwestern wasteland. A sign outside reads, 'Mariposa'. I'm on the right track.

vd.jpg
Todd.
todd.jpg
Go away, we're doomed.
vd.jpg
Send a distress signal to Maxson.
todd.jpg
I can't. We're too far from the bunker. We're so fucked.
vd.jpg
Plan B. Silent mode.
todd.jpg
*Makes weeping sound.*

Finally we are taken to the deepest level of the compound. The leader looks surprised and happy to see me. He eyed me up and down, grinning widely as he does so. I notice a familiar looking purple robed man next to him. While two of his bodyguards stands a short distance away. Looks like my interrogation is about to begin.
23.jpg

vd.jpg
What do you want with me?
24.jpg

vd.jpg
Tell you? You're almost funny.
25.jpg

I braced for the blow. His right came at my helmet, creating a loud clanging sound.
26.jpg

I fell to the floor. Hard. I look up at the robed man and it all clicks together. I've seen them in the Hub. The Citadel! So the FEV is the Holy Flame! All eyes are on me...they're very confident that I'll break.

todd.jpg
Psst. Hey, Brian. Press O to stand up.
vd.jpg
Negative. Operation Majestic Decadence - on my mark. Voice Amplifier, ON.

I get off the floor, giving a direct stare at the leader.
27.jpg

vd.jpg
I'M. NOT. TELLING.
28.jpg

vd.jpg
GO.
todd.jpg
Here goes...dung dung dung dung dung dung dung dung dung dung..five seconds....

I sighed as the chems are injected simultaneously, feeling my mind and body warping and readying itself for the task at hand. Senses sharp. The mutant's right moves at a slow motion as the drugs took effect.
29.jpg

lou.jpg
I *will* break you.
vd.jpg
NO.

My left palm stopped his right, he recoils in shock, unable to withdraw it from my death grip.
30.jpg

I swung my right at his eyes, he twisted his head just in time to dodge it. Undeterred, I try again, willing my fist to home in on his glowing red eye.
31.jpg

Bullseye.
32.jpg

Again.
33.jpg

lou.jpg
HUUUUUUU--ARRRRRGHHHHHHHHH!
vd.jpg
OVEREXTENDING IS BAD.

Amidst the mad howling of the leader, I can hear a swift kick coming from my right, it's the purple robed bastard.
34.jpg

I dodged the blow easily but was interrupted by the sound of a rocket being fired.
35.jpg

todd.jpg
Oh shit, Brian - DO A BARREL ROLL!
vd.jpg
NOT. MY. TURN.

Oh man. TODD? You truly are a genius RK47 :salute: Just brilliant.

Bit of a shame we didn't get more out of Lou, he's possibly my favorite Fallout character of all time. But good luck in this fight!

How much you remember of Fallout 2, RK47? You should try and stay far away from the game for some years so you can return to Fallout 2 for some wacky blind LPing. Also, I would love to see RK47 playing with a large party (preferably Sulik, Cassidy, Marcus and Myron) and burning his money on lots of Jet to toughen himself.

I remember too much - me no likey. :( It's going to be tiring seeing a bunch of random raiders with flamethrowers burn our party to a crisp. Or running across a group of deathclaws.

I foresee a lot of problem with writing for F2, but we'll see. Skyrim looks mighty tempting to acquire...

I'm not saying I'm going to LP it, I'm saying I wanna play it.
