Hopefully Obsidian. Sawyer's revenge
Don't know if MS and Hasbro collaboration is possible it that way but who knows. Btw, I would like true spiritual successor to IWD with improved never seen before RTWP tweaked combat and 2.5D beautifully painted backgrounds.

Many retroclones uses ascending AC because thac0 is counter intuitive for noobs.
Descending armor class has been used since original D&D and is an entirely separate issue from THAC0. Even if Gygax had implemented ascending armor class, he would still have faced the identical problem when generating tables of "to-hit" values, wherein he displayed an extremely wide range of armor class values in either the rows or columns and then needed to show combinations of character classes and level ranges in the columns or rows, resulting in the ponderous tables of all five editions of D&D/AD&D prior to AD&D 2nd edition in 1989. THAC0 is merely a convenient means of condensing tables (and similar information provided outside of table format); an alternative would have been THAC10 or any other plausible armor class, but anything other than zero requires additional (albeit as simple as possible) arithmetic.

Reminiscent of this one, unrelated to IE games but somewhat similar in spirit

Particularly egregious when you actually played Fallout and perfectly remember you can snipe super mutants from across the map by aiming at their eyes with 95% chances to hit. But then again, that'd require actually playing the fucking game for more than twenty minutes.

The very possibility that any action you perform isn't met with an instant intake of dopamine is unfathomably bad design for the younger generation, used to interact with gamified tools and processes since the dawn of their days. Keep in mind these people had the time of their life when playing Skyrim. They don't exactly have tastes or standards.

Same with the couple of retards moaning about THAC0 itt, oblivious to the complete irrelevance of the topic, especially when talking about crpgs in which rules are entirely handled by the computer. Needless to add that the current system, despite streamlining the chances to hit, still puts it in the form of an arithmetic calculation, which remains vastly inferior to the logical conclusion they'll eventually reach : we should remove chances to hit altogether. Calculating HP losses is already a lot of work for the zoomer brain anyway, and what do you mean I'm even missing to begin with lmao ? He's right there ! Nostalgia glasses amirite folks i'm 13 so I literally have no idea what nostalgia even feels like btw.

Dumbasses.

The only mystery about THAC0 is how to pronounce it. Imagine trying to impress some chicks with your knowledge of AD&D and Gold Box games, and then you blow your chances by pronouncing it wrongly.
