The second one is worse, because he's for real. The first one is fucking around, he's got to.

Where are the lies though?

Archaic trash with bad RTWP gameplay.

BG3 is superior in almost every way possible.

Also friendly reminder that when people talk about Baldur's Gate now, they talk about BG3. Nobody cares anymore about BG1 and 2 besides boomers.

Other 90s RPG adaptations where mostly turn based but the first RtWP got most success. I'm not defending BG1/2 being RtWP. But BG1/2 got much more success than Dark Sun Shattered lands + wake of the ravager and other SSI games/

No one is saying that. I enjoyed the combat of the TB 90s RPGs more than the RtWP ones. I'm just explaining that TB tends to sell less. And is not only in 90s, compare NwN1 with ToEE in early 00s.

Neither Pillars of Eternity nor the Pathfinders sold as well as BG3 or even D:OS2, so RTwP doesn't sell all that well. RTwP is retro in a bad way and nostalgia bait. Only people whose first RPG was a RTwP one prefer that style. Don't get me wrong, I love BG1, but that's in spite of the combat style.

RTwP is best when you can program party AI and let it play itself in real time (in other words, when you bypass the pause part).

Good thing none of their opinions matter cause larian abandoned the bg franchise.

You mean classic and pre decline.

that when people talk about Baldur's Gate now, they talk about BG3

And in some years, or decades the game will decline much more, someone will make BG4 into a mobile gashgrab and everyone will associate Baldur's Gate with the mobile cashgrab, not Baizuos gate 3.

There's nothing "classic" about rtwp, chuds are really defending mediocre systems to appear "trad"
I blame the gold box quick combat and maybe Wizard Crown.

Nah! Ultima 7.... no... RTS! That's it. That fucking RTS fucked us with RTWP!

Give me TB in most games. If it is tactical let me take all the fucking time I want (so yeah, even early Ultimas, Questron series and shit that seems TB but time ticks and PASS or mob just attacks is rather crappy come to think about it. I guess live with it, but it don't mean I love it. Tolerate yeah.

Rtwp in bg2 and iwd1&2 has more strategic depth than any crpg ever, including toee and kotc2.

You don't know what you don't know. You are silly.

oh....my wrath is righteous...
But Arcanum comes the closest for someone to make that comment.
Ah, yes, the great itemization of arcanum, a game where most items seem to have lolrandom stats, magic items consistently outperform tech and upgrading weapons as a tech guy oftentimes makes it strictly worse instead of better. Amazing example.
