The price is fine. If you are into this style if game, the price is more than generous. Fukkin' retarts whining about price while they willingly spend upwards to $100 for games that are shit.

Anyways I've gotten further. Still fun. The combat is legit. Love leveling up and the combat is varied. I'm gonna go over some complaints but don't get butthurt because this post is focused on a few negatives.

Dwarves get the shaft. They have super limited stats. Talk bigotry, and racism. Fukk that bullshit.

The path is really rigid. You really can't afford to miss any xp. Too bad, too. Because multiple scenarios do a nice job of giving you various ways to do them. This cutting off going back is annoying.

I did like the big town battle and the puzzles are cool. I just past the mino. He thought he was cool ambushing 6 of us, but a simple command put him in his place.

Now, I am level 6. Bring it on.

I'm very into cock and ball torture
I think Blackforge dwarves make for nice martials. Mountain dwarf isn't bad either with it's situational bonus against Trip and Grease - I remember there being a couple of difficult encounters that'd use trip against my party.

I'll have to try a barbarian out at some point. Sounds like Pierre has improved them somewhat.

You know, I would have paid 60 for this, even for the broken piece of shit original that me and the boys beat (without a village or these dialogue ambushes) - there's nothing like playing a real RPG. And this was it. Yeah the encounters were broken as shit and the game crashed every 5 minutes but holy shit they just don't make games like this anymore.

Oh yeah I forgot to say this. Barbarians are almost over powered. Their animal tokens are ridiculous. They should have less per day, imo.

As for dwarves they can be useful, but really limited. I do not get why their dex, int, and even wis are so handcuffed. I did read on steam that he is supposedly adding their 3e medium/heavy Armour benefits but their max stats should be increased. So, anti dwarf, lol, but I'm so pro dwarf, I still have 2. But, if you feel the need to power game, taking dwarf is probably one of the worse 3 options. That is ridiculous because, in factualness, they are bestest race. TRUE STORY.

And yeah, trip can be nasty. Just as nasty are enemies that have as much as 8 attacks even though you are level 5ish. Lolz

Regarding Dwarves, this is what Pierre said on the forums yesterday:

Hello everyone! Thank you for all the feedback and suggestions about the Dwarf.

I'm looking into this. Initially, I thought about a new subrace (the Diamond Dwarf) but now I am more leaning towards a new racial feat accessible to all Dwarves, as follows:

Dwarven Armour Training: You don’t receive any movement penalties for wearing Medium or Heavy armour. If you are a Samurai or you have the Champion’s feat Divine Armour, and you’re wearing armour, you receive a +1 bonus to your Armour Class instead.

Should be able to implement that shortly. Cheers! Best regards

Yeah, I saw that too. I feel like it should be a racial thing to begin with (with maybe a feat to improve it) as dwarves kinda feel like they're getting the shaft in comparison to other races. I mean, a dwarven fighter might have no problem burning a feat on it, but it'd be more painful for a dwarven cleric for instance.

It's nice that he's taking it into account at least.

Well.. dwarves already have that feature in pnp so he chose to take it out. Lol Glad he fixed the oversight. Now, he needs to fix the fubared stats. Dwarves having max 14 for int and dex is dumb. Having 16 max for wis is also dumb. I don't get these artificial Stat limits for any race, actually. Just give them a - in the appropriate stat(s) as well as appropriate +. I know as far as dex goes just dlap full plate or chain on and you good to go, but dwarven scouts have been a thing for decades and as master metal Smiths, Dwarves should need good dex and int. And, nobody gad more common sense and hard-core religious beliefs than Dwarves. Ha.

Still, rant aside, anyone whining about price us retart and should go away. R00fles!

Addenum: Fuck monks. Such faggy retartetness.

I like where monks are right now d8 class medium BAB you know WEAK. They serve as good goons to explode in bits for human male sword board chad fighters before the serious encounters come into play. Shame pierre did not add enemy monks in the module to fulfill this fantasy 90% percent DND playerbase can agree upon.

As for the looks, Pierre already added 3D models on top of the original tokens.

I mean, that's kind of the point. He did have money for an asset package, but because he got it rather late it ended up clashing with the style he already put work into. He also ended up picking a pack based on a Kickstarter comment, and the pack is graphically fine but not really optimal for this kind of game. If people were more interested in giving him constructive criticism early on instead of patting themselves on the back about how little graphics mattered to them, they could have helped Pierre get a good pack at the beginning that he could develop things cohesively around and prevented him wasting time putting two completely different graphical styles in the game.

First and foremost, everyone and their mother asked for KotC animated sprites from the get go.
The one complaining like a retard after the fact and not contributing is YOU, most people here gave feedback, here, on his forum or by e-mailing Pierre.

About the 3D models, I don't like them anymore than you do but what can I do?
I gave a lot of feedback to Pierre in private but in fine, it's his game, he listened to some, I can tell you I talked a lot about new pre-combat dialog options, extra village invasion fight, the village's spider, dwarves, Monks and Barbarians shortcomings with Pierre and it bore some fruits.

No such luck with 2D animated sprites though but this kind of expensive design choices are beyond user's feedback since the dev is the one paying the prices, both in money and consequences in sales and eventual lack of money to develop the upcoming modules.

Personally, I prefer shit graphics and getting the 3 upcoming modules than shiny 2D animated sprites but Pierre getting bankrupt and not being able to release them.

The game keeps boiling my CPU (i7-1165G), constantly around 90°. I've got a very slimmed down W10, repasted CPU, and all the temperature-related paraphernalia. For comparison, Battle Brothers averages 55°.

Anybody has any advice/solutions?

I have no clue how the game can be doing that to your PC. It's not that demanding at all. I suggest emailing Pierre about it, though he takes about two or so business days to respond.

Yes, it's a strange behaviour, especially compared to far more demanding titles.

It's weird since my toaster with integrated graphic card can run it very smoothly.

Some Graphic settings can improve the performances by a lot:
  • Display environmental particules >> OFF (display)
  • Allow long pathfinding OFF (gameplay)
  • Determine targets of spreads accurately OFF (gameplay)

Not sure about those two:
  • Low res arrows and bolts OFF (both display)
  • Vertical synchronization OFF
Last but not least (for even faster combat)
  • Ultra accelerated combat
  • Skip all effects (spell tab)
And finally, disabling 3D models and playing with tokens might just improve performances further.

I play with tokens, have everything off apart from Low res arrows and bolts, and CPU usage for the game is around 18-20%. I thought it was something due to previous versions having some issue, but it keeps happening.

Complete specifics: i7-1165G7, Iris Xe, 16 gb ram. Not a gaming machine by any means, but I can play Kingmaker on medium graphic settings with temperature around 75-80°.

Just finished my first playthrough. I'm not sure the move to 8 char parties was the right call, it turned the puzzle-like fights of the first KoTC to a nukefest against the hordes. Also, most of the recruitable NPCs suck. 11 dex casters? Nope!

The path is really rigid. You really can't afford to miss any xp. Too bad, too. Because multiple scenarios do a nice job of giving you various ways to do them.
You can. The xp rewards depend on your level, if you end up lagging behind at some point, you'll catch up anyway.

Nah. The xp is useful for crafting and prepping for the big set battles which most are. Plus I am a self punisher who doesn't use npcs at all. Lmao Though, I 'cheat' in other ways with extra feats and stat bonuses.

Just finish the flame fare. Not hard. I also killed the undead dragon in 2 rounds because of the silliness of giving the player an instant murder undead weapon. Lmao

Wiping out the goblin war room should be much easier thanks to all the anti fire shit we gathered. Plus, I now have +5 damage reducing Armour amongst other over powered equipment especially for level 7. This is a ph@t left lovers' dream.

Good game, overall, but I no doubt see hypocrisy. The same people who bash Bio games for ph@t left likely cum for this one. Heh.
