Hi ----------,
You know, you might be on to something there. A friend is starting up a new game studio. This might be a great way to fund one of the products. However, the real problem with RPG development, even for tablets or social, is all the art assets you need. Raising a million or two on kickstarter is just a down payment!
In any event, thanks for the encouraging words!
all the best,
Arnold Hendrick
Link. Also, Doug Tennapel will soon be coming to kickstarter with something. You might remember him as the man behind "Earthworm Jim", "Skullmonkeys" and "The Neverhood".
Actually, I am not sure if his kickstarter will be gaming related. It could be about cartoons or graphic novels. But he certainly hinted at gaming.
Arnold Hendrick(of Darklands fame) replied to my e-mail. Cool guy, not sure if he will try kickstarter or even if it would be Darklands related, but there is a chance. I posted his e-mail contact a few posts back, if any of you want to bug him some more with words of encouragement I guess there is no harm in it:

Send him an e-mail and cross your fingers. It seems I was the first to suggest it and I don't know if the guy knows how many people love his game and would pay for a sequel. I think he needs encouragement.
In my original e-mail I did point out to him that Wasteland was an older game and that its kickstarter was a massive success. Per his reply he was obviously interested in the idea somehow, who knows? Maybe the codex staff can call him up for an interview? He would probably be up to it. He did an interview with some guy in youtube a while back.
I agree with General Maxson that an interview with him could be a good idea, though I do worry we might end up sounding too forward about this.
He did an interview with Matt Chat a few years ago, I am sure he would be open to the idea if we strive to remain civil.
I'd love to do a retrospective interview with him. A bit busy this week, but I'll be sure to drop him an email on Monday. Thanks, FretRider and Alex!
Rend will give it's players what is referred to as a parallel narrative structure. This narrative structure allows our player's to have agency within the world. For the people who are not used to some of the terminology being used, agency is the capacity of which a person may effect their surrounding world. Therefore the team has created many instances throughout the game where a player may feel agency.

What makes The Ancient Wars different than any other RPG?
The Ancient Wars is completely story-driven. Some of the best selling blockbuster games of recent memory have delivered incredible gameplay, but the story takes somewhat of a backseat. Not an irrelevant backseat, but a backseat nonetheless. In The Ancient Wars, I finally deliver a story that I have been writing for almost 12 years.
So it’s just a book in video-game form?
False. Even though the game is entirely centered around an epic storyline, I know firsthand that “playing a game on a rail” where you just mindlessly follow a story “rail,” is less than exciting. There’s a ton of amazing combat, sweet dungeons to conquer, and massive bosses to push your character to the limits.
and finally this
