I happen to live in PA, I bought a bit of land and a house in a more rural part of it when I was younger, I already paid it off. When I see people paying thousands of dollars a month to rent a fucking pillbox it's astounding. Only thing I pay for now is property taxesIHaveHugeNick Sums pretty much every single one of his tweets about money and difficulty retiring perfectly. Holy fuck those are hilarious.
I mean shit, why is he looking in California for ANYTHING? I live in Jersey. I'm looking for retirement land in places like PA and Montana, 100+ acre lots only. Prices for undeveloped but hooked to the grid are 300K+ for 150 acre lot in PA. That's with access to state hunting lands right nearby too and a nice town within ten miles. Gotta see about well water and drilling, but if I buy it I get mineral and coal rights too, though coal and fracking are primarily in Northern Pennsylvania.
Land and housing is cheap in most of USA if you stay away from coastal and metro areas.
