Do you know any mod that causes enemies to get lightly staggered when they get hit by normal attacks besides the Flinch mod? This one doesn't seem to work for AE for me :(
Or anything that makes hitting palpable would be appreciated. Tk Hit Stop doesn't seem to work either with AE.

That Perkus Maxumis mod I mentioned does this with ranged bows, crossbows and two-handed I think. You also pick perks that give you items in your crafting list that allows you to craft either a silent "backstabbing" crossbow or a heavier arbalist type one. Some other interesting perks in there like disarm shield and all that.

It also allows traps and caltrops, etc in the "wilderness lore" tree. But I haven't messed about with this stuff too much yet.

I'm still trying to work out the damage values in this game. Currently level 87, 1200 HP, 600 AC, playing on Master difficulty and got 1-shot again when I started trying to level up melee.

I forgot to change the difficulty settings from my last run years ago, and just remembered the retardation they came up with to make the game more stupid harder. And I don't think I've ever found an article that can properly explain damage values in detail and with numbers.

That goes only for ranged, if I understood correctly. Good one, but what I'd like to see is something like: you hit, the enemy flinches. In melee. So that the combat feels like one is actually hitting something, not just hacking some paper. But anyway, thanks for taking the time to answer and all the additional info.

Fyi, I think I've found one - Precision. It doesn't provide the right feeling in the default, but the direction is there. I'm trying to understand it better, it's got zillions of options :D

Nikanuur Yeah I'm currently doing a ranged build, and only glanced at two-handed weapons so mentioned it without going into detail. Here's the readme for 1handed weapons (I don't know how to hide this behind a spoiler box to save space):

Perks [Light Weaponry]
===============-------

Light Weapon Combat (0/40)
1- Weapons covered by "Light Weaponry" deal 15% more damage. Weapons covered by "Heavy Weaponry" deal 5% more damage.
2- Weapons covered by "Light Weaponry" deal 35% more damage. Weapons covered by "Heavy Weaponry" deal 15% more damage.

Blunt Impact (25/50)
1- Sideways power attacks with blunt weapons disorient the target for 10 seconds.
2- Sideways power attacks with blunt weapons disorient the target for 20 seconds.

[COMBAT HIT SPELL priority 1]

Weapon attacks performed by disoriented targets have a 30% chance to deal 10% damage only.

Clear Cut (25/50)
1- Critical hit chance for blades is increased by 5%, critical hit damage for blades is increased by 40%.
2- Critical hit chance for blades is increased by 10%, critical hit damage for blades is increased by 80%.

Piercing Thrust (25/50)
1- Piercing Weapons ignore 35% armor against targets that don't have a heavy cuirass or shield equipped.
2- Piercing Weapons ignore 50% armor against targets that don't have a heavy cuirass equipped.

Blindside (45/65)
1- Piercing and blade weapons covered by "Light Weaponry" deal 25% more damage when attacking the enemy's back within a 80 degree angle.
2- Piercing and blade weapons covered by "Light Weaponry" deal 35% more damage when attacking the enemy's back within a 120 degree angle.

Penetrate (60)
1- Blocked power attacks with piercing and blunt weapons covered by "Light Weaponry" reduce
the target's armor values by 200 for 5 seconds.

Dervish (60)
1- Piercing and blunt weapons covered by "Light Weaponry" cause the attack target to fall to the
ground, if they land a regular (non-power attack) hit while the target is attacking.

[COMBAT HIT SPELL priority 2]

Blood Price (80)
1- Piercing weapons covered by "Light Weaponry" deal 30% more damage against bleeding targets. The
bleed rank of all piercing weapons covered by "Light Weaponry" increases by 1.

To Black (80)
1- Forward power attacks with blunt weapons covered by "Light Weaponry" strike any target not wearing
heavy or light head armor down. If the target is wearing head armor, it is instead disoriented for
60 seconds. Only works while the attacker's stamina is above 50%.

[COMBAT HIT SPELL priority 1]

Rising Wings (80)
1- Unblocked regular attacks with blade weapons covered by "Light Weaponry" increase your attack
and movement speed by 3% for 4 seconds. Stacks with itself.

Mastery: Combat Sense (95)
1- Ability that automatically activates once hitting someone with a weapon, once every 60 seconds. Lasts 10 seconds. When active, time is slowed down by 25% and and movement speed is increased by 25%.

Light Weapon Handling (20)
1- Power attacks with weapons covered by "Light Weaponry" consume 20% less Stamina. Unlocks "decapitation" kill moves.

Critical Charge (25)
1- Unlocks running power attack for weapons covered by "Light Weaponry". Running power attacks gain a 100% chance to cause a critical hit with +50% critical damage.

Proficient Strikes (30)
1- When performing power attacks, the debuff rank of any weapon covered by "Light Weaponry" is increased by 1.

Skilled Slashes (45)
1- When performing power attacks, the bleed rank of any weapon covered by "Light Weaponry" is increased by 1.

Dual Wield (20/40)
1- Negates damage malus for dual wielding. (*)
2- Increases attack speed and damage while dual wielding by 10%.

(*) In PerMa, dual wielding without this perk reduces damage by 30%.

Elemental Twister (35)
1- While dual wielding, sttack speed is increased by 5% and fire, frost and shock damage is increased by 25%.

Savage Storm (55)
1- While dual wielding, standing power attacks hit all targets in front of you.

Counter (70)
1- While dual wielding, initiating an attack makes you invulnerable to weapon damage for
0.4 seconds.

So the modder has included daze attacks and knockdown attacks, and also time-slowing in between power attacks, blocks, and counter attacks that deal more damage, etc. He also did abilities that can be toggled with armour feats, like sacrificing AC for more damage for example.

Edit: THink this is a documentation page listing all feats: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=415362261

Only saving grace of Skyrim.
No joke the 2 best options for a modded Skyrim playthrough literally are Reqiuem-based survival or porno-power fantasy.

Survival setups address Skyrim's fundamental crapness as an RPG by lending the journey meaning via challenging traversal of the gameworld (as Grunker has summarised very well before in this thread) whereas the porno setups work by leaning into it.

Given that Skyrim is a campy pastiche of a cRPG in the same way porn movies tend to be campy pastiches of actual movies why not fully commit to the bit? Squash mooks fuck bitches ignore dialogue. More entertaining that way.

instead of making modding skyrim easier, wabbajack just gave every retard that spends 4 hours a day downloading 8k pube textures a way to share their autism with other people. i just looked at a dozen lists, not a single one was under 100gb in size, one of them even had the audacity of being 350gb. that is basically half the fucking nexus models and texture category, goddamn. :|

Quoting myself:

My Mod Organizer directory is 10.6 GB, for a full Requiem install with complementary mods.
Graphic mods too, though admittedly I never downloaded very high res versions of stuff.

Requiem and complementary mods, don't get carried away and it'll be fine.

Well, I've been hit by the autism rating already, so I might as well re-quote my final Requiem modlist too.

Start by removing the CC content.
After that:

*** "BASIC" REQUIEM 5.02 Modlist here ***

-> Indistinguishable Billboards for SSE
-> Address Library for SKSE Plugins
-> JContainers SE
-> SSE Engine Fixes
-> powerofthree's Tweaks
-> Skyrim Skill Uncapper(fixed)
partial port, basic features of the old mod
-> SSE Display Tweaks
-> Fuz Ro D-oh - Silent Voice
-> USSEP
-> Assorted mesh fixes

-> Face Discoloration Fix
-> Fixed body collision
-> No Silly Physics Damage...
-> Audio Overhaul Skyrim
add Obsidian Weathers patch after it later in the list
-> Weapons Armor Clothing Clutter Fixes consider adding (slightly outdated) QUASIPC Patches
-> Complete Crafting Overhaul add Requiem Patch later and apply MCM settings (see Patch description)
-> Enchanting Adjustments and... if it conflicts with Requiem might use only the Bug Fix portion
-> Modern Brawl Bug Fix should work
-> Modern Toggle Walk-Run Fix SE
-> Mfg Fix probably makes Player Eyes Blink Fix redundant...
-> Wiseman303's Flora Fixes Revamped
-> Cutting Room Floor - SSE add RS Children patch after it later in the list
-> Lore-Based Loading Screens SE
-> Sovngarde - A Nordic Font

-> A Quality World Map check the nexus forum for a patched ESP
-> SkyUI and patch
-> XP32 maximum skeleton SSE warning it has/enables adult content but it's required for the next mod
-> FK's Diverse Racial Skeletons
-> RaceMenu AE
-> Yes Im Sure

-> FNIS Behavior apparently Nemesis is new and better but it's not needed for this list
-> FNIS Player Exclusive Animations SE
-> Better Dialogue Controls

-> Better MessageBox Controls redundant with Dear Diary
-> FixNotesForSkyUI
-> Campfire
-> Frostfall
-> Campfire and Frostfall Unofficial SSE Update
-> Dear Diary
-> Better SkyUI Config Smart sorting
-> SunHelm Survival and needs
skip cold and campfire stuff, disable weight System with Requiem
-> PapyrusUtil AE - SUF install after Campfire and other stuff that rebundles it
-> Simpler Knock probably the best version for this feature
-> Realistic Ragdolls and Force SE not needed if you have XP32
-> Player Headtracking SE should work
-> Player Eyes Blink Fix
-> Footprints
SE version
-> Better Jumping SE
-> Smelters for Riften and Solitude
should work
-> Immersive Fallen Trees with patch
-> Get Snowy remove W&C patch
-> Obsidian Weathers
-> Relighting Skyrim
-> Enhanced Lighting for ENB
-> Protect Your People
-> Female Vampires have fangs
-> Alternate Start
-> New Beginnings
-> The Choice is Yours
with CFR Patch
-> Paarthurnax - Quest Expansion
-> Innocence Lost Alternative
must be loaded after The Choice is Yours
-> Destroy the Dark Brotherhood Enhanced
-> Improved Companions Questline Tweaks
-> Improved College Entry Questline Tweaks
After WACCF, before ICOW
-> Immersive College of Winterhold Requiem patch still missing, should be tolerable though
-> Thieves Guild Requirements
-> Simple Horse
-> Realistic Conversations
-> Guard Dialogue Overhaul SE
-> Relationship Dialogue Overhaul SE
should still work with the Update patch
-> Serana Dialog Edit Skyrim Special Edition
-> Misc Dialogue Edits
-> More Dialogue Options
-> More To Say

-> AI Overhaul patch for CRF outdated. Probably good enough without it...
-> INIGO
-> Interesting NPCs add also Protect your People and RS Children patches
-> Inconsequential NPCs from Oldrim, must be ported, but there's a MEGA link on the nexus forum somewhere
-> Windyridge P. home in Winterhold
minor (?) conflict with Flora Overhaul
-> Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions
-> Improved Adoptions

-> VioLens
-> RS Children Overhaul

-> Realistic RS Children Overhaul with required textures
-> Realistic Elven Children with required textures, probably the same as the above
-> RRSCO Lore Friendly Heights Patch
-> REC Lore Friendly Heights Patch
-> New Thinner Torch
from Oldrim! Appears to be working
-> Ultimate HD Fire Effects SSE
-> SkyFalls and SkyMills not with DynDOLOD
-> Static Mesh Improvement Mod SMIM SMIM Flora fixes patch goes after this.
-> Unofficial Material Fix
-> Skyrim Landscape and Water Fixes
-> Superior Lore Friendly Hair
from Oldrim! Appears to be working
-> Xenius Character Enhancement Complete
-> Noble Skyrim and patches

-> Skyrim Textures Redone - ENS using all 1k options for now
-> Skyrim Flora Overhaul
-> Pure Waters
-> Glowing Ore Veins
-> Requiem

-> Requiem patches:
CCOR, WACCF, Dragonbor, VioLens, Audio Overhaul, CRF, Campfire, Frostfall, WM Flora, RS Children, AI Overhaul, INIGO
some patches are for Requiem 4, but 5 is mostly a technical update, they should work and the game does start

-> Skyrim Unlocked SSE
maybe not hosted on nexus? but I managed to find it
-> FNIS and DynDOLOD stuff

Depending on your character build, you might also consider:

- Simple Drop Lit Torches SE Preferred implementation. Might have issues with Relighting Skyrim. Appears to be working for me
- Non Exploitable Crossbow Reload SE untested yet but it *should* work with Requiem V. 5
- Borgut1337's Dual Wield Parrying Non-SKSE Random Attacks still the cleanest and best solution for this, imho

The list lacks something about the Civil War. This is simply because I've never played it and wouldn't know what to suggest.

Nowadays, this is truly minimal. But I feel like nothing else is needed.
It might need some "curating": at the time I made it a few modfixes hadn't been ported for instance so I made without them (not that I noticed).
Oh, and DynDOLOD is worth the (all in all, minor) hassle.
If *I* notice it, you can believe it.

Looks like a good list to compliment Requiem , not many mods though?

Any adult mods in that list?

Less is more ;)
The goal was indeed to cover the few things not handled by Requiem, add some decent graphical improvement and easy of use mods, and that's it.
Oh, and a few "expanded roleplaying options" for a handful of key quests.

Any adult mods in that list?

XP32 maximum skeleton SSE, technically, because it's required for adult mods and maybe has some content of its own.
But it also required for FK's Diverse Racial Skeletons, which I wanted to install for improved immersion.
Other than that, no.
I may have browsed a few for the hell of it, but this remains unconfirmed.
No, seriously. That's the list :)

So the bloodmoon werewolf mod is fun. You get bonuses in combat, magic, or rogue depending on what you pick. Given by feeding. It kinda takes the monotony out of gaining them in the vanilla fashion.

Then mod giving me the most trouble is 'Warzones' but I wouldn't play this game without it. You get huge battles playing out all over skyrim, and later in the game it's much more dramatic when you take over forts for whatever side you picked. Trick is to work out the highest number of npcs allocated to battles based on PC and mods for multiple cores and ram (assuming they work) as cloak and weapon mods get loaded onto the npcs, causing ctd.

If I hadn't increased the level cap (elys uncapper I think) I would have hit a wall by now. Level 100 and not enough perks to go round. But when I become a vampire lord (there's a mod allowing that & Werewolf) and increase in vampire ranks with the better vampires mod, you get perks for diaberie and per feeding. Also with the deadly dragons mod you can convert souls for perks.

Edit: Also the Ultimate Witcher mod is good. The witcher contracts don't work for me, but finding witcher enemies in Skyrim is nice, and the modder scattered dead witchers and their gear here and there. Some familiar weapons and armour pop up. Just a shame I can't seem to improve them. Modder also added witcher signs.

fuck you todd.
i spent the whole evening downloading and installing the right mods. just the bare essential minimum, less than 40. i jump through endless loops and in the end the game starts, and works too. but somehow requiem misses some files because it needs another suppelementary installation after being installed (yes, the retardation radiates from this), so i go there and jump through more endless loops, and in the end... it doesn't work. it says it misses some files which are exactly where it's looking for them. no help from retardit either, literally, two hours and no answer.

edit: i'm actually being downvoted on retardit for describing my situation and asking for help. please putin, kill us all.

can its installation be furtherly tweaked? i don't want to begin without stuff like "live another life", "hunterborn", "frostfall" or "immersive [whatever]".

I don't know if it helps, but my "minimal" Requiem list is posted (in the spoiler) like 6 posts above this.
Perhaps you can find some inspiration to solve your issue...

Do you have Special Edition? Anniversary Edition? Something else?
I assume you have SKSE. Is it the right version for your exe?

MadMaxHellfire I feel your pain. I just don't entirely believe people who say they have hundreds of gigs of mods and the game works perfectly. I've got about 20 or so and most are QOL ones, and a bug has just crept up on me where spells fire backwards in first person.

I dimly remember this from my last playthrough years ago, and I think I have to restart. Can't find any mention of it on the net. Reminds me why I only played this once.

FUCKING YES.
the game works perfectly, as i already stated, it's reqtificator which doesn't work.
well sorry for trying to help.
I'm just saying, Requiem is played by lots of people, and everyone installs it just fine. It might be that you're doing something wrong.
Perhaps even a silly thing, like not granting permissions to the Reqtificator, or something.

I honestly haven't had things like that since quite a while.
The occasional crash still happens though.
That does happen yes.

i always work in super-duper-administrator modes. and i thought of that too.

but mine is not an in-game bug, it's the mod itself which refuses to act properly despite all its needs being fulfilled, and with only a bunch of mods installed which are fully compatible. in fact the game starts and works fine without requiem. but i don't want the vanilla experience. do you know any other overhaul, possibly without level scaling?

This is why you install curated modlists, that have an autistic genius in charge of bug fixing and an army of playtesters finding them all before you even hit the install button

If you don't mind waiting several hours for the download and installation (and you have a decent system) I really can recommend Wildlander. It's still just Skyrim, and it's not as entertaining as Enderal is, but it makes the tedium of playing Skyrim almost seem worth it, just to see how long you can go before dying.

A few hopefully helpful notes about Wildlander and things I did to improve it/tweak to my tastes:

- The default FOV is something like 105 degrees. I have no idea why they chose that; it's very fish-eyed, distractingly so. You can go into the Mod Configuration menu and alter the default FOV under Customizable Camera. I found that 78 degrees was perfect for me, but you have to hit the TAB button for it to take effect, yes, every time you load a save game. This also helps to improve your framerate in the game, btw.

- In the Wildlander launcher menu, it turns out that currently the "High" and "Ultra" graphics presets are identical. In other words, lowering it from the default "Ultra" to "High" doesn't do jack shit. It was an oversight on their part and they're going to fix it with their next patch. For now go here if you want the corrected settings. <-- I don't have the link yet but I'll update this post as soon as I find it.

- I like lowering the Look Sensitivity in the main Skyrim settings, down to one above the lowest (one notch to the right of the farthest left-hand setting). This combined with the corrected FOV, above, seems perfect to me.

- Make certain you read the entire wiki guide located here. I can't stress this enough. There's a lot of important info in there, including a handy keyboard shortcut guide that you can print.

I'd be happy to offer any other tips for anyone who's interested since I've gotten used to the game by now.

Edit: Apparently the fix for the graphical presets mentioned above are coming in about a week from the time of this edit.
